If it's by Twitter, Atiku would be president today. Also, Tinubu stands a better chance of getting his party's ticket (and in effect going on to become the president) than Peter Obi does with his own party. There's nothing financially reckless about government spending on infrastructure. Are you telling me that during Peter Obi's tenure the state was so developed that there wasn't any infrastructure that the 'saved' money could have been directed towards?? Like seriously? What's the savings for really? Is the money not meant to be spent for the betterment of the state? Of what use is money that you have saved in a bank when you have needs that could be met by that money, when it can be spent towards meeting the needs of your constituents, or investing it to grow it? Some of you just defend nonsense.

Fact is just that Peter Obi, while he was governor, lacked ideas on how to invest money wisely for the state. Nigeria can't afford that sort of stupidity at the National level because we are a developing country and need to keep finding ways to raise money (either from IGR or debt financing/loans) to spend on development so that we can catch up with developed countries.

You are obviously financially ignorant. This investing vs. Saving argument is what separates the rich from the struggling folks. The money that struggling people 'save' in banks are what rich folks collect/borrow to create wealth and increase their networth exponentially. Nobody ever gets rich by saving money; that only shows/exposes that you don't know what to do with the money or lack ideas on how to grow the money by investing it. Not to mention that inflation would rubbish the value of that money over time. There's nothing wrong with debt financing if it's channeled towards businesses/ventures that'll yield returns. That's exactly how all the rich people became very wealthy, by leveraging OPM (other people's money) either via loans (debt financing) or venture capital (equity financing). I repeat, nobody has ever gotten rich by 'saving'.

As far as I am concerned, Peter Obi is an overhyped politician and administrator. Obiano outperformed him by far. Instead of investing Anambra money or directing them towards infrastructure, he 'saved' the money. Who does that? Considering the effect of inflation, and especially when there's so much that the money could've been used for. At worst he could have invested the state's money in ventures that'll yield higher returns, or in infrastructure that could yield money for the state. He will definitely make a terrible president because he'll prioritize 'saving' money rather than investing. Na so e go starve the country of critical infrastructure, all in the name of 'saving'.

I watched Sanwo-Olu's recent interview on channels TV and that reinforced my conviction that he's a very competent and eloquent administrator. The guy knows his stuff and knows Lagos state like the back of his hand. Nobody that watches that interview would doubt his competence.
