>> Bank Statement
>> CAC Certificate
>> Letter from your office to be
responsible for your travel plans
>> Accomodation reservation (Do not
make any payments until granted
visa)
>> Your ID card
>> Conference letter indicating your
office name and you as a

Thanks tzetzefly for your prompt reply, please the letter from my office is it same as the introduction letter or will there be a different letter like A SPONSORSHIP LETTER FROM MY COMPANY.

@ tzetzefly and other gurus , please what documents do i need from my company if they will be sponsoring my trip for 2 days conference in US?

tzetzefly:

The fact that their office is based in the UK, is important to the VO. They would expect you to have visited the UK for that same conference previously, prior to your application to attend same in the U.S.

Better you seek for a conference with an office in the States.
Thanks tzetzefly for your reply, but you didn't answer the other questions.

Again what if I tell the ECO that my previous travel to Dubai last year was for conference by the same organizers Even though i went for tourism purpose and my passport only have exit and entry stamp on it.

The organizers of the conference have about 5 business conferences to take place in Dubai , USA , UK.
Happy new year

Hello Tzetzefly and good people of nairaland , happy new year. I want you to please clearify me on this, I have finally decided to go for a particular conference that suits my field , I also got promoted at my office to the position of sales manager with increase in salary from 1xxxxx to 2xxxxx naira. My new position will take effect from January 2014.

This international conference on business and economic development is being organized by the Acadamy of business and retail management and their head office is in UK.

Now my questions are :
1.) will the US embassy recognize the organizers or host of this conference being that they are base in UK but have conferences takin place in Paris, Dubai, UK and US.
2.) I have a UK refusal stamp at the back of my passport , I was refused entry to UK November , the CO stated my income then is low. That's was the only reason i was refused.now hope this won't affect me negatively.
3.) i intend to apply for the conference by feb, 2014 and that will be 7 months after i was refused on first time. Is this enough time as not to show desperation?
4.) which is way do i stand a better chance to get the visa, to state that I will be sponsored by my company with SOA or to go as self sponsor?
5.) the location for the conference is New York , hope it won't be considered expensive though the conference is just 2 days but i will be staying a total of 4 days there.
6.) the reason for my first US interview denial was no travel history, but I have been to Dubai and Ghana, just once each, don't know if this will be considered as change in circumstance by the ECO couple with my promotion at work.

Anticipating your urgent reply. God bless you.

APFM: Hello Pros,

I have been asking questions and following this thread.
I have finally booked an appointment for my exhibition related to my job.I got an IV from d host and they had an agreement with a particular hotel for everyone attending the exhibition but I ama member of Hilton hotel worldwide so I made my reservation with hilton.
I want to be sure it won't be a prob?

Secondly, I own my biz and dis exhibition is related to my biz, pls wat documents shud I take along for my interview holding 13th january 2014?

The exhibition can be paid for on the day of event so I have not paid for it hoping to pay wen I go.

I have travelled to UK 3 times in the past 3yrs,and I hv not spent more than 10days on evry visit. And I also intend 2 spend 10days in US bt d exhibition is jst for 4days. Hope it's still okay?

My major concern is I hv a wife and kid that I wil leave behind.

What is my chances?

Please what is the exhibition you are attending in USA , is it related to business or management
I'm equally searching for a conference or program relating to business that I can attend in USA next year.
How much did the exhibition cost you
Is the host or organizers of the exhibition recognized or a reputable one in US
You can post the link and the details here too .

God bless you

tzetzefly:

Google ''ASIS'' and register your membership with them. Equally read through the information on their website and get acquainted, after which you then show interest to attend any of their conferences worldwide (USA inclusive). Their HQs is at Alexandria, Virginia, just a few miles outside of Washington, D.C.

If your intention to travel for conference is genuine, i see no reason your visa wont be approved this time.

This is my little assistance to you here due to the numerous challenges you've been through.

All the best......

Thanks so much tzetzefly for your prompt reply, honestly I don't know how to thank you , I will go through the site , i will come back to give you feed back.God bless you.

Please I seriously need help on this.

FrontPageLawyer: @Asorock1. Sorry my brother. Yes I said it that the sky will not fall if refused a visa. though sad. I also got my packet on Monday and was refused for frivolous reason that I did not state reasons and places I will be visiting in the UK which I did carefully in two pages as advised by Londoncool; God bless you sir. Now i wonder if the ECO checked my documents or just arrived at conclusion base on some selfish reasons. After that I met a layer who said she can write a review letter on my behalf for 70k and gave me 100% assurance that i will be granted, told her to commence but will not pay a dime until visa is out, she objected and I went home with my packet hoping to reapply some other time.
Justwise, vicjustice and others are doing good job here. But please always try and give us the best, when we ask for information, don't hesitate, it is important to guide us, not that we are dullards but the visa processing can be so confusing. Once again Asorock1 go back to work, it is well. I am back to my job which pays me well.

Thanks so much frontpagelawyer, whatever happens , God knows the best, please don't give anyone your penny, I also had a similar case , I almost fell into the evil hands of an agent who demanded i pay 150k naira to apply for the UK , he demanded i pay the full amount whether the visa is successful or not, but I refused and came here, got every information i needed, and I'm happy that their only reason is the amount i earn, soon I Intend to start up my own business or hopefully get promoted at the place of work and then my financial circumstances will change, and I can reapply for this visas.
Meanwhile I will try to apply for the conference at the US embassy next year, i will let the will of God be done.
Remain Bless.

As i promised to update the house on the outcome of my UK visa application, well here i am, I got the package from the UPS today and I was refused ...the only reason being that the my stated income of N145000 a month is not enough after deducting my monthly expenses on living cost and dependents...and that the 1300 pounds i stated for the cost of my trip is X4 of my monthly income , despite evidence of investments, I don't think i have to lie about my income for a visa...Just like someone said here, the sky will not fall...
I believe that so long as there is life, THERE WILL ALWAYS BE HOPE.

By next year i will surely apply for my proposed conference in US, i just wanted to go to UK to add more to my travel history which was the reason for my initial denial of US visa, i have only been to dubai and Ghana, but whatever be the outcome , i will also take it as the will of GOD.

I wish everyone here who has also applied for a UK visa SUCCESS, and also thanking the moderators, Vicjustice, Justwise, Dis Guy, Funkybaby, and other good members of this great forum for your advice, you guys are really doing a great job...I believe that one day i will be here to render this service to humanity.

God bless you.

It means that your passport will be ready for collection anytime from tomorrow, it does not mean you have been given or refused, you will only know that when you open the package.

Thanks justwise for the prompt reply, please is it common for applications to be processed so fast, I have been following the thread and haven't seen similar case
Again being my first time application, is it possible to reach a decision without verification yet, cos i was expecting them to get to my employer, and then I used a hotel reservation.
Thanks

I tracked my UK visa application today and the status says "processed passport is in transit to the UK visa operation center." Please house what is the meaning of that I'm just wondering cos is just 6 working days, beside my employer hasn't received any call from the embassy yet to verify my employment.
Is it normal for applications to be processed so fast and does it have any significant

Well I just want to inform the house that I submitted my application for UK tourist visa for 7 days trip on Monday 18/11/13 and just like someone said here, whatever happens the sky won't fall, I'm very much positive for the outcome just as I have always been with the previous applications, also praying with faith, I will keep you guys posted.
I submitted the following documents:
Letter of introduction from work
Visa application form
Personal visa Application letter
Bank statement with 1.1m naira balance
Pay slips
Hotel booking
Flight reservation( not paid)
Marriage certificate
Child's birth certificate
Itinerary listing all places to visit.
ID card copy
Family pictures
Land receipt

Budgeted 1300 pounds for the trip
Have been to Dubai and Ghana
Monthly income 145k a month.
I hope for the best
God bless you all.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Asorock1: 3:39pm On Nov 17, 2013
justwise:

There is no confusion in that question, it basically means: 'how much will the trip cost you' and flight ticket is part of the cost.

If you have 1300 in your bank account it will be a mistake to budget the whole money for the trip.

Thanks justwise once again
I have 1.1m naira on the statement of account and have budgeted 1300 pounds for the trip.
Now from your reply it means i have to refill the form right And state at the places asked

1.) How much money have you for the visit
Answer: 1300 pounds

2.) how much will the trip cost you personally in UK
answer: 1300 pounds

Hope this is how It should be right and at the additional information i will break it down
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Asorock1: 12:42pm On Nov 17, 2013
justwise: [/b]

Make a mini-budget of that trip showing how that 700 pounds will fund the trip, stating 700 is not good enough, you need to break it down to show that actually 700 pound will be good enough for the trip.

Just thanks for the reply, I hope you understand what I mean by the question , on the form there i stated that i budgeted 1300, then the second part asked HOW MUCH WILL THE TRIP COST YOU PERSONALLY IN UK. I got confused thinking maybe the question means how much I will spend when I get to UK, so I just removed the budgeted flight ticket money which is 600 pounds from 1300 and arrived at 700( hotel, feeding, inbound transport, shopping )

So now do I also state that the amount it will cost me personally for my stay in UK to be same 1300 pounds

Since i have submitted the form already online do i fill out another one
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Asorock1: 4:26pm On Nov 16, 2013
Greetings everyone i need a little clarification on this , I already filled the UK form, and submitted online, but not sure if i got this;
At the place on the form where they asked" how much money is available for your visit", I stated 1300 pounds

Now the second part how much is the cost to you personally for your stay in UK.
I stated 700 pounds, i just removed the budgeted flight money from 1300 pounds. I don't know if this is right
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Asorock1: 12:07pm On Nov 13, 2013
FrontPageLawyer: @asorock1 please I beg you to easy on yourself, except you have plans to abscond from the country, i see no reason for the fear. This visa thing is not a do or die affair, same thing you did on the USA thread, at the end it was a refusal. Stop being apprehensive and do the needful as advised by the gurus. I have been refused visa many times and the sky didn't fall on me, I just submitted another application last week and I am very positive. But in case it's a refusal, the sky will still not fall on me, i'm just going to spend my hard earned money in the UK because I own a very good business here which wasn't documented except for the CAC and Bank account, until i learnt from the gurus here that as self employed, your business must be well documented with tax payment which I have perfected. Once again refusal of a visa is not sufficient reason to have a heart attack. No offense please.

Thanks , it's an open forum, you can say whatever you wish.

AVOID LIKE A HERD OF GALLOPING ZOMBIE WILDEBEESTS. The W14 is an unspeakably foul place: it stinks of sperm and excrement, houses dangling live wires and is fitted with bloodstained mangled carpets. The rooms are sticky, cramped, airless and jaw-droppingly spartan.

http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g186338-d577546-Reviews-The_W14_Hotel_London_Kensington-London_England.html

I found this with one click on Google!
Some people find it a slum, but you might find it ok, it depends on what you are used to!

looking at the conditions for getting a visa here, i think it will be considered budget friendly, maybe when i get to London, i can choose a better place to rest my head, maybe to retain the reservation my brother made earlier, but do you think it will be ok to present the W14 hotel confirmation for my application as that will also make my budget to be reasonable to the ECO or to go with the one my brother made at Hallmark Hotel, it cost 413 POunds while the W14 hotel cost 139 pounds.

God bless you

Thanks so much Vicjustice for the reply , Please quickly look into this as well as justwise and everyone, is it ok if i book a hostel,it cost 139 pounds( 7 nights inclusive free breakfast) , the hotel i chose earlier wanted to charge the total amount from my brother's credit card in US, so he booked a hotel that cost about 413 pounds but i considered that too much , because i'm hoping to book a hotel within the range of 150 to 300, so my budget could be friendly. What do i do now? to go ahead and book the hostel at 139 pounds for 7 night stay, will the ECO consider the amount little the hotel name is W14 hotel, West Kensington.

Actually is a hotel, but offers bed in 4-bedded dormitory in the hotel.

Please urgent reply is needed.

Vicjustice:
It's indeed drastic that a man needs an approval or a clearance letter from his wife to travel abroad, that shouldn't be in document, it is ridiculous

I have read from this forum, of someone saying that his Aunty was refused a UK visa 5 times or there about until she included a consent letter from the husband to travel.

Again why do the ECO's normally states that the have taken into consideration that the applicant wants to travel alone and stay in a hotel, expecially to married applicant

Is it such a bad idea to include a consent letter from my wife that i'm to travel alone, where i will be staying and when i'm to return back to Nigeria.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Asorock1: 7:46am On Nov 13, 2013
Vicjustice:
1&2) As a tourist, you really don't need to have a special compelling reason to want to visit the UK, but because they systematically use this question to examine an applicant, it is wise to give a satisfying answer.
To give convincing answer for this, it is reasonable to use Google search engine to look up the areas that you wish to visit: also, read their eencyclopedia in same Google... By this, you should be able to satisfyingly convince the ECO of your knowledge about the places that you wish to visit.

3) Normally, you are not required to present your tax papers if it shows in your pay-slip, but because Visa Officers are aware of the wide-spread frauds by means of document alterations, it is difficult for them to trust any document that does not carry security authentication.
You can use your pay-slips as they are, but if you want to avoid the possibility of refusal due to unverifiable tax record, you might want to consider getting tax compliance report.

4) Give the figure in Naira, they will convert it to Pound Sterling (not Dollar)

For the bolded part, I don't know what to do , a bit confused, justwise in my previous post stated that tax clearance certificate is not needed by employees but is very important for business owners or self employed.

Is there anyone here who has gotten a UK tourist visa without presenting the tax clearance or with only the pay slip

Hello my people, Vicjustice, justwise , fellow nairlands ok here i am again,I'm almost set for my UK application, please i want to outline the documents i will be submitting, and please my dear brothers and sisters kindly advice on what to add and what to substract.

-Letter of introduction from my employer
- A copy of my passoprt
- confirmed Flight Reservation ( not paid)
- Itinary (showing all the places of interest/events and days i will be visiting in london,UK and means of inward transportation)
- copy of my work ID card
- Land receipt/survey plans and power of attorney.
-Marriage certificate
-bank statement( 6 months from June to November) with balance of 1.1m naira showing regular income of 145k naira.
-Hotel reservation(7 nights)
-letter of consent from my wife that i'm to travel to london for vacation ( although i drafted that and will have my wife to sign it, however i would like see a sample letter of consent that will be more suitable, i want to know if i'm on the right track, please someone if not everyone should help me draft one)
-Personal visa application letter
-pay slips( 6 months , May to October)
-family pictures
-my son's NPC birth certificate

1.) Please what's the best answer to this question: why in particular i have chosen the UK for holiday at this ? I don't seems to find a perfect and well constructive answer to give to this question.

2.) again do i have to start filling the places i will be visiting at the space provided for it or to refer the ECO to my typed ITINARY? if yes how do i state that to refer him/her to it

3.) hope i'm good to go without a Tax clearance card as my pay slip shows tax deductions from my employer.

4.) now what do I feel on the part tha ask what money is your property is ? I mean do i state the value of my lands in naira or to convert it to dollars and state there ?

Hmmmm Vicjustice, justwise , my dear brothers and sisters i don't want to face anymore rejection, mek una tell me now if there is anything that will work against me

i have already told una about my budget of 1382 APP. 1400 pounds for this trip, if you are the ECO how will you see that for a married man with a 1 year old kid.

I'm anticipating for urgent replies and answer to my questions.

God bless you.

SOTAJ:

Asorock 1:

Thanks Dis guy for that wonderful contribution, I have checked on flight and Qatar airways to London from 24th to 31st december 2013 cost about 141.539 through wakanow.com and that's about £568. I hope flying Qatar airways to London without there British airways won't cause any problem

Now do I leave the total of that budget at 1382 or make it up to £1400

Please one more thing , shoulda HR stamp the introduction letter with the company seal stamp or the ink stamp, what about the pay slip too, what we have a computer print out pay slip does it require stamp and signature too for the embassy.

Please general advice is needed seriously and If i don't get any contribution from vicjustice here i will feel so bad

I haven't got an answer yet on the above quote

@Asorock, u can fly any airline you like. There's no law dt says u must fly a particular airline.

As regards the letter of introduction, it depends on the usual practice in ur organization. It could either be sealed or stamped, either of the 2 will suffice.

You do not really need to stamp ur payslip (provided u are sure that is the true reflection of ur pay).

As regards rounding up your budget, it doesn't have to be rounded up to a whole number. Just be logical and realistic with ur proposed expenditure.

I hope my contribution helps.

Cheers.

Cheers!!!! Thanks so much SOTAJ, but on a closer look at that budget, if you are the ECO what you gonna think?
Do you think that budget is realistic

Ok now another question, on that part where the form ask how much do you spend on family members and dependant.

ii.) how much do you spend personally on monthly bases.

You can agree with me that this Questions are technical

This is for a friend who also wish to apply for UK visa and he is a bachelor who ends 130k and he doesn't have a fix amount he spend on monthly bases or to the family members.

What's the best figures he can put in there

Give me a more logical and better answer to give on this questions to suite so as not spoil the visa chance.

Thanks and God bless.

I the more allow for the better, remember price will change when you eventually buy your tickets.

Is your company well know/recognizable? A letter headed paper with contact details should be enough, you can stamp it if you want. you payslips should be as you were given officially

The company is a marketing company, limited liability company(private owner )
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Asorock1: 12:42pm On Nov 11, 2013
Dis Guy: I think you were being overly cautious when you mentioned the 20k earlier knowing how finicky some visa officials can be, it is a good thing you have separate account -thats not muddled up with family issues -for your salary indicating consistent payment-would have been better why bank transfer but atleast its showing your employer- the 20k transaction is minor and its several months ago--

A letter of introduction/payslip etc plus a photocopy of you ID- you might want to mention the reason for not submitting you ID in the space given at the end

you've made very reasonable budget, wish you good luck

you wont get a flight for 600 in the high seasons, I'm sure you know this
