honeychild: well that is not everyone's view. It is not even necessarily what the Bible teaches.Ok. So what does the bible teach? The bible is open to multiple interpretations. Also, there is an understanding that God is directly or indirectly responsible for all things. Is that true? |
Mr_Anony: Look up Luke 13:1-5Why dont you interpet it for me and explain your views? How does that sit with my discussion also? |
Err... to get back to the point... I think the summation of logicboys thread is to clarify how xtians view such events. Is it Gods design or is it something else? This is coming off the backdrop that God uses such events to punish, to teach lessons etc. Also, how does this tie in with Gods statement to Abraham that He would never destroy a city if it had one righteous person in it (not a believer but righteous)? I have a scenario in mind but I want to hear your suggestions. |
Emusan: Some people believe there is no 'Supreme Being' called God while some also believe that he exist but he doesn't have any son 'Jesus Christ' while some believe that he exist (God) and also have a Son (Jesus Christ).Prove Zeus does not exist or that Muhammad is not a prophet of God? The question is sort of silly..... no?? |
ogugua88: The answer should be yes but our politicians think they are gods or above the law. Someone will be paid off and the issue will never have happened.Paid off? It wont even get that far. They use national assembly number plates hence the police wont go near them. |
What abouut roman emperors like Nero? Was he ordained by God? He persecuted Xtians almost into extinction. Why would God ordain a leader that would kill his flock? |
Ileke-IdI:I get the point lol. |
honeychild: I am sure that as former Christian you are aware that one Christian's opinion is not necessarily every Christian's. So it is highly ILLOGICAL of you, Logicboy, to announce that because an unnamed Christian opined on a certain point, that must be Anony's, and by extention allLogic boy has a point. This is a stand most Xtians take on issues of calamity: 1) The devil is responsible or 2) It was the will of God As everything is by Gods will and design it puts Xtians in a tight spot when calamity befalls ppl because no one wants to suffer unjustly and they have to find a means to defend this backlash of anger. |
Ileke-IdI:What type of help are we talking about? |
Reyginus: Na wa o. I don't think it's a matter of a christain winning. The issue here should be a personal one. I don't care who wins, my only concern is showing by my vote whose posts I've learnt more from. And who would that be? |
martinseme: Every one need to be aware of the truth that a lot of evil spirits ,demons and human agents of darkness are on social networks assigned from the pit hell to mis-led and drag souls to hell fire . These agents of the devil on mission poise as atheists ,pagans and other ungodly faith to deceive and lure soul to satan .The bible states be watchful and vigilant for your adversary the devil walketh about like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour.Lol And who will be devoured? Ppl are smart and intelligent. No need to scare them with such. Let them make their own minds. Xtianity is becoming a one trick pony. Fear is now used to get every point across. Gone are the days of slick evangelism. |
Oahray: Its more of logical reasoning. There was enough evidence to start the initial theory. Darwin had just got back from the Galapagos for the first time (i think) and had seen many species that were unknown anywhere else plus one or two grand-uncle species (share common ancestor but not as evolved hence grand uncle). It started as just thoughts and he began to study and draw scientific theories based on his observations. So far he has been proven right in regards to the species. |
I vote logicboy (if the voting is still ongoing) |
manmustwac: Worship the Sun. Why?Sol Invictus? That is a good suggestion. |
toba: May be the person is rightIf he were right then this topic would be null and void. |
Oahray: you gave me a link earlier. My turn to repay the favour. Here's a link to very powerful argument against evolution. Unlike the wikipedia link with more scientific names than useful info, this one is something you can actually reason on:I have read the website. Good site. Just doesnt stand up to much scientific scrutiny. There is too much data and evidence in support of evolution. However there are some issues that should be (or might be) addressed over time. |
They look like politicians. |
What about those Winshes being slapped and burned up and down the country? Are they allowed to worship freely? |
inurmind: if you want it toHmmmm..... That answer does not sit comfortably with me ![]() |
inurmind: the pink unicorn will give u all u beer need. life would be sweet and happy. Will it instruct me to launch genocidal raids on other religions? |
Delafruita: wasnt it the same whites who fed ur forefathers the ridiculous stories of yahweh?Irony.... ![]() |
The flying spaghetti is sacrilege. |
Reyginus: Dawkins live on aljazeera. Now I know lb got his pink unicorn arguement. ![]() |
Oahray: your link is almost useless as an ans to my question. The apes alive today are our evolutionary cousins. We share the same evolutionary ancestor. We did not evolve from the apes around today (if I got your question right) and hence this common evolutionary ancestor is no more. |
ooman: Yea, the Flying Spagetti is the same God you know and if the Flying Spagetti does not exist, then the "familiar" God does not existThis familiar deity must be Zeus then ![]() |
saintvc: Whether the world was created or exploded, how does it affect me? Whether my ancestor is adam or monkey, it makes no diffrence. HISTORY is HISTORY. Focus on the present. It does if you are being told to strap bombs to your chest or pay 10% of your income to this same deity. |
nakash: So is the God of xtians the same one as the god of islam Allah? Just asking.Yes and the god of the jewsBy the fruits of a tree will you know what type of tree we have. What god inspires religious genocide on the scale of the abrahamic god? |
Billyonaire: I did mention that Felony merited the popular mode of execution which then was Crufixion. The other 2 were robbers, not just common thieves. Were the robbers political prisoners? We cannot infer that jesus was a political prisoner because he was crucified? Also, as long as he wasnt instigating violence the romans wouldnt have given a monkeys about him. It was the jews that were looking to do him in. |
ITbomb: Ok, I will find a Salvation Army center and dump the cloth, if I don't find one , Ayma gonna burn themI thought I had a brain malfunction. I was about to get a CAT scan but now I wont bother ![]() |
Oahray: you obviously do... Deep down. You just do not want to admit it. At least its more reasonable than the evolution crap. I have seen people do magic... Things science cannot explain.Just to clarify http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_evolution This should clear things up for you. |
rodeo0070: In many lands, leaders of professed Christian religions and non-Christian religions charge a fee for religious services. These services may include baptism, weddings and funerals.Good question. I dont think these churches operate a tithe scheme. If they did then they wouldnt need govt support. |
ITbomb: To the AtheistSo what is your solution then? To burn clothes of value when it can be given to the poor? Something Xtians do in other countries. I guess my brain malfunction is not as bad as yours ![]() |
