Favoured111:Only CIC can determine if the whole application fee would be refunded or a portion of it would be refunded. In a case of applying again, you will pay a fresh processing fee. |

mightyola:Yes, he is. Immediate family members are not 3rd party but sometimes, CIC still mention siblings sponsorship as third party. I guess parents are the exceptions. Can't say for sure. |

mightyola:It is not a must but to convince a VO, it may be necessary especially if your sponsor is a 3rd party. An affidavit is a binding document and it is tenable as an evidence in a court which makes it credible. |

Favoured111:Hello ma'am. As it is now, you may have to withdraw you already submitted application and then apply with a new application which will then have your family members included. They cannot apply for a study permit as they will independently apply for one while also meeting the requirements for a study permit. Alternatively, you can wait till a final decision is made on your application after which you can then apply for a visitors visa for them and your husband as well. 1 Like |

larrytorch:It is on few cases that application would exceed the processing time stipulated by CIC. Normally, most application are processed and a final decision made within the processing time. So it shouldn't be anything scary. If you intend to apply, apply as early as possible with a complete application meeting CIC's requirement for a study permit. BTW, there is no way you will start the visa process without being offered admission. You will need the offer letter from the school to apply for a study permit. 2 Likes |

mbambah1: 1. Not necessarily. Having been refused for funds alone should not make you neglect other aspect of you application. A different visa officer may review your new application and find a new reason other than the previous one(s). 2. Your sponsor having the remaining funds for your tuition and living expenses is one thing, another thing is him/her being able to justify the source( with proof) and how he/she got the said funds within the time your application was refused and when you reapplied. If there is no proof( receipt of sale of something, etc), i'm afraid it will raise a red flag. If he truly want to sponsor you, i'd rather he pays the remaining fees and you open a dorm account to pay in the living expenses fund. Funds in convertible currencies are easily seen as a strong commitment to an applicant's study. 3. Anybody can sponsor you but more to their claim of sponsorship, they must be able to satisfy the officer that indeed they will. Commitments, affidavits, letter explaining why the have chosen to sponsor you are some important things to note while using a sponsor especially a 3rd party sponsor( non-blood or Family member). 4. It certainly will if there is no proof of the source. You must also explain why and how the money was gotten. Conclusively, you MUST not in trying to meet the requirements of you study permit raise concerns about your sponsor, sources of your funds and your financial situation. This may also raise concerns about your INTENT which may lead to a refusal for 'PURPOSE Of VISIT'.. You should be lerry of anything that will raise flags in your re-application. Regards. 2 Likes |

deratus:The processing time as shown on CIC's website only shows the processing time it took that office to process majority of applications submitted. Often time, processing times are updated weekly so it doesn't actually mean any application would stay through the processing time on the website. So apply and worry less about the processing time, a decision hopefully should come WITHIN that time. |

deratus:You need to satisfy the officer on why your proposed program is the best for you and why you choosed it. Why it is important to undertake it in canada. Why you prefer your proposed program against a master degree considering you graduated with a second class upper degree which is the minimum requirement for admission for a master degree program in most schools. Justifiable reasons are all you need to land your TRV. If you also can, get a master degree in your field. 1 Like |

Philadelphia:I don't think so. As long as you show that there will be significant progression in your career as a logistic officer both in your current company and in future when you complete your proposed program. 3 years is sufficient to have good establishment in this field and a master degree in it is not out of place. The onus however is on you to clearly and cogently satisfy the officer that yes indeed, completing this master program will even make You achieve higher feet eg a high level manager and will also help you meet some required skills and expertise to perform at that level. It's actually how you make your program significant that would give you the higher chance. 1 Like |

Cnwag:Sorry about the outcome of your application. Considering your academic background, intended program, your profile is good. The officer was probably not satisfied that you are using the study route to advance your career but thinks you are using it to gain entry into Canada and would not leave upon completion. 1. You will need to have a compelling reason for choosing and pursuing your proposed program. 2. Why you have not chosen similar program in Nigeria considering the expenses. 3.Your long and short term goals with the program. 4 Demonstrate how profitable Sociology is in Nigeria and what your actual purpose with a master in it is. Lastly and most importantly, you must demonstrate and satisfy the officer that your plan is to study and leave after your authorized stay even if you can stay after study. This can be shown in WHY you chosed the program, What you plan to do with it when you return, How a master degree from Canada would help your career growth and advancement. The refusal in my opinion has nothing to do with your proposed course or a career change. It is more of you not satisfying the officer that you need the master degree program in sociology. It's really important you pay attention to this and you must demonstrate it as well. However, order for your GCMS note. It will also help you. Regards. 8 Likes |

Gshun:I'm guessing the admission you got is for Carleton university( i stand to be corrected). If it is, NOV 25 is the last day to pay your tuition without a late penalty fee. After this date, you can still pay but it will attract a late payment fee of CAD100. Also, for your visa application, you MUST have available funds for your tuition and a minimum of 10,000CAD for your living expenses to meet the requirement of funds. As per possibility of getting your visa before the date, NOBODY here can tell you if you will or not. The earlier you send in your complete application package, the better. In doing this, ensure you have carefully provided all the requirements for your study permit. 4 Likes |

nairalandnewbie: Phocusjosh: limai17: No cause for worry. This is very normal since y'all applied online. The tracking number was given when you completed biometrics and not when submitting your application. So you won't be able to track your biometrics movement. It has already been updated on your account which should put your mind at rest. You have no further business with VFS tracking, all you need to know about your application is visible on your account profile. 1 Like |

pvc4real:I believe your application is an online route. CALASTU(Lagos) and CAAB(Abuja) tracking numbers are given when biometrics are collected for online applicants. This means that your 'Biometric completed' will be updated in either of the offices depending on where you submitted the letter and also where your TRV will be issued once your study permit is approved in any visa office around the world that processed it including Accra visa office. 1 Like |

LONG POST ALERT! One very IMPORTANT thing to note and pay great attention to for those yet to apply for their study permit is your ability to satisfy an officer that you will return after your authorized stay in Canada. How ever possible you can do this, ensure you do it convincingly. From your proposed course to your home ties to every circumstances around you. The onus is on you to do this. It is a REQUIREMENT under the temporary residence visa category that you return home even though there are incentives to make you stay after studies. Have a compelling reason to pursue your proposed program. Many times officers can easily find something against the applicant so one shouldn't assume that because the course matched, all is well or because there is progression in your career, everything is fine. A simple thing like a show of desperation, not paying attention and addressing concerns of previous refusal, over analyzing, second guessing or underestimating the discretionary power of an officer or giving too much or necessary details can cost you. Leave your application simple. Meet all requirements, provide all necessary documents and importantly show that your intention is ONLY to study. Afterall, you are applying for a study permit. Don't be begging in your Statements of purpose/intent. (I have on different occasion seen this on SOP i reviewed). They already consider you a potential migrant, they look out for your value, interest and what you will bring to them. You are going to be an asset to them if your profile is good that's why they have alot to attract you to their country. The embassy is more like a selection council. Let them see these by themselves and not the other way round. Chances are high for first time study permit applicants with good choice of propose program matching their personal status, interest, goals, career progression and sufficient financial capability(ies). Applicants with previous refusal(s) stand a good chance too but ONLY when they have carefully addressed the reasons and show that studying is their overall goal. We are not like other applicants from other countries that find it easy with documents and with shorter processing time, we must not compare ours with them. Processing times does not mean your application will stay that long, it is only the time frame it took CIC to process majority of the applications from that office. Apply for your study permit with the mindset that it is your first and last. 18 Likes |

Alantobie: Arebo:@Arebo and @Alantobie, i believe your questions are in the same path so i'll go ahead and give an answer. The main thing CIC look out for is the accessibility of funds available to you the applicant. The easier it is, the better. However, your sponsors must make their claims and commitment convincing enough without any suspicion. If they are working or own a business, include all relevant documents to show how they generate these said funds. if it was a cash gift or anything of sort from another source or person, make sure it is explained and if you have proofs, include them. Funding will go past the first year if your programs are beyond a year. They also want to be sure it is sustainable even if you have the required funds for the first year. Funds for you the applicant can be a ONE TIME proof (Scholarships, funding, loans etc) and like i mentioned, if somebody else is providing funding, all funds made available to you should be explained and the sources proven. This is what makes your source of fund genuine and reliable. 5 Likes |

dayusin:I honestly don't. I asked if it is an online application because a moniker here had same dashboard update and days later, he was requested to submit his original passport. He applied online. I can't say of your case. You will have to wait till you get a response as to what the final decision is. Also track the status of your application using the VFS website. Hopefully, it is an approval. Regards bro. |

Arebo:Firstly, i'll suggest you pay your full tuition, pay in the FUND in your dorm account. Give it a week and then print. You will be fine. You have your living expenses funds in convertible currency which is good. If they still would doubt further about it's availability to you( which i doubt would pose an issue), it should be from the source of the funds. Ensure you show proof and explain how your got the convertible funds you deposited in your dorm account. |

belovedtianah:1. You'll have to wait for CIC to request a new offer letter with a new start date from you. Usually such request means a positive review on your application have been completed. So be hopeful and wait for them. 2. Sometimes, such scenerio happens. As with most auto set replies and notifications, once there is an activity(Your application is viewed, opened or an officer adds an update to your account), it automatically notifies the owner of the account(Applicant) of an update using the email address used in such account. (same thing when someone tries to hack your yahoo account and you get a notification of an attempt). However, It is usually an indication that an officer has opened your file. The actual update will come later, so keep checking. Lastly, since you submitted already, i don't think it would matter right now the inconsistencies in your degree, work and proposed program. See what their decision is on your application first. Regards 2 Likes |
