Hello house....
Please is Statutory declaration of common law union(IMM5409) form compulsory for married couples to fill along side other forms?

Thanks.
Not needed. Common law union declaration are for couples that are not married by law but by habit and repute. Informal union.
If you are legally married which i believe you are, you don't need the IMM5409 form. Only declare your marital status in the field provided and also include the marriage certificate as proof.

Gurus in the house, please I have a question, I have decided to defer my admission to January hope to travel by November/December. I have contacted my program coordinator and supervisor and they have both agreed.

I don't want to go to Canada now since I won't be resuming till January, hope I won't have issues with my Visa?

Thanks
No, you won't. Your visa is valid beyond January and your study permit validity start counting when it is issued at the POE.

You too refused to submit transcripts and SOP at your own peril? @Austinpee4, lol. Congrats!! And how comes you did biometric twice? I suggested the other day that CIC can make you do biometrics twice if the first one was not good. The same person said it was not possible and even if it were, they won't tell you to do it at the same time with medicals. It's CIC you are dealing with bro!
grin Baba J my former Cameroun bound guy! You don wake well today athink?

Anyway, you've been helpful here and it is commendable. The only thing is that when you carry something for mind and when person disagree with you here, e no dey quick leave you! and e go make you miss some point and the one in context too just as you missed the one of this our bros you quoted to throw in your sacarsm.
He mentioned he did biometrics on the 9th of July, but his 'Biometrics completed' was updated on his MyCIC account on 5th September and not that he did biometrics twice(Biometrics completed is an update term on MyCIC account)but as typical of your nature here and to prove a point, you don carry another message put for this gospel wey our brother preach.

Na dey cold for jos? Relax jare! No need to further drag on this issue that has been buried already. Christ is coming soon! Make we go find cloth wey get wing wey we go use fly and meet up with him grin

Happy weekend!

Thanks for making out time to reply. The said sponsor is my father. Is the affidavit still necessary?
Necessary but not compulsory as immediate family member sponsorship is credible. A letter of sponsorship from him will suffice too. Also include birth certificates to show proof of relationship.

Hi guys...
I'm presently in Abeokuta. Please how do I go about notarizing my documents? Do I have to notarize every copy?

Also, concerning the affidavit of sponsorship, what's the process? Do I have to go to a court or a simple Sponsorship letter will suffice?
Aunty, please don't waste your money. If your documents have valid signatures or stamps or seal of the issuing individual/organisation, they are fine.

For the affidavit, it will be important you do one if your sponsor is a 3rd party. The high court should handle that for you.

Hi,
Worry not, once you get your passport, you can resume January as you want. Make sure you confirm from regina that your offer is still open till then. If it is then you can use it, it doesn't matter which letter you used for admission. Just login online to your application and you will see a column for Change of DLI. Fill it and do the necessary stuff, you can do this before you get to Canada, it's better that way. At the port of entry, they just ask which school you are going to and again, name of school is usually not written on the study permit.

Peradventure u did paper, please link your app online, so you can notify them and that's all.

Regards.
You have a valid point on how to go about the change in DLI. However, i noticed you didn't mention the other aspect which is the MOST important when changing DLI. So i will add it to your point.

@Legendayo
, There is a condition already on your study permit that have been approved and to change DLI, you must first meet that condition which is to 'be enrolled' on an outgoing basis at the time of your change.

So just like @nairalandnewbie pointed out, You should be enrolled in the University of regina first either by registering for your courses before you travel in jan or pay your tuition or which ever way you can be enrolled in the school. After doing this, you can now notify CIC of the change in DLI. This will meet the condition on your study permit.

You can do this before you travel or after you arrive Canada. Main thing is that at the time of your change of school, you have been registered in your desired school. Once you arrive Canada, you can then show officers at the POE your new offer letter as well as proof of enrolment.

Hope this brings clarity.

Wow! You are now somewhere on the Atlantic ocean. What a trip! You pop champagne, hi-fives went round, you even had a party!

Silly friends are jealous of you, funny admirers are gazing in awe, dumb proteges came with notepads and of course you have a lot to share after all you are 40,000 feet up on the Atlantic while some are still struggling to take off and others can't even fly.

But it's a trip from Lagos to New York! Celebrating over the Atlantic is as dumb as it gets. If you lose focus, or stop cruising, you will never arrive.

Know the difference between progress and accomplishment, it will keep you focused, it will keep you moving, above all, it will keep you humble.

People land at your dream destination everyday and just keep moving cos their destination is further and farther. Stay Humble, stay inspired, never settle.

Just thought to share this here!

Gurus in the house, is it possible for study visa to be issued after school resumption date if the date of school registration expiration is still a future date, without embassy requesting for new offer letter?
Kindly note that resumption date and late registration date are two different things. CIC most times use the late registration date on the offer later. Once this date has passed, they most likely will request for a new offer letter. So yes, a study permit can be approved after the resumption date but there is high likelyhood they will request for a new offer letter after the last registration date has passed.

It is not misleading man. If it's required CIC will state clearly and unequivocally to include your TRANSRIPTS. It doesn't state so online on CIC website, only the paper route states that at VAC or some place as a guideline. My point is clearly supported by the fact that many people get their visas without submitting a transcript. Many things are there to suffice that one is a genuine student, not transcripts alone. That said, It is at the individual's discretion whether they want to submit a transcript or their certificate of graduation or both. Everyone has to decide for themselves what maximizes their visa obtaining capacities. Maybe if the guy with less stellar performance never included his transcripts, the VO wouldn't have used it against him to deny him visa.
Hehe. I know say you go won argue but as in my style, here is a snap shot of the lagos visa office instruction as evidence of what i posted.

Also, Kindly note that information required for a study permit as published on CIC's website includes the visa office instruction and it is part of the application package. I have not agreed less that people get their application approved without their transcripts, ofcourse, we have seen such cases here. The point is that transcript is a REQUIREMENT for visa application. That is what i initially pointed out. Whoever choose to do otherwise does so at his/her peril. Also note that VAC do not issue instructions on documents to be submitted, all documents to be submitted are published by CIC and applicants are frequently advised to follow the visa office instructions as well.

Austinpee...boss! It's not application that I was asked to send, the person helping me to request my note said file number which I think it's supposed to be on the correspondence letter which wasn't uploaded.
I get. File number is the same thing as application number. There will be no 'FILE' number written on the correspondence letter. It will be the same UCI and Application number on your account that will be quoted on the letter. So order your GCMS file with the application number on your account which should start with S.................., It is the same thing.

Check you account, your application number is there too. In the area where you see your UCI number.

VOs are not admissions officers and never asked that you submit transcripts They are not in the business of litigating the admissions process all over again. That said, if you want to submit, feel free to enclose a photocopy of your transcript because anything original you submit except your passport, you are not going to get it back. Best wishes.
Baba J! wink This statement as emboldened is actually misleading. Transcript of all post-secondary education is a REQUIREMENT for visa processing as requested by the visa office (LAGOS) which serves Nigeria even though study permits are largely processed in Accra. Some people may have gotten their study permit approved without submitting but it is REQUIRED. I'd rather people follow the instruction of the visa office than feign ignorance to it.

I have seen a GCMS note where an officer made reference to an applicant's performance in previous study and doubted if applicant would be able to withstand the rigorous academic pressure in Canada. So YES, they review all submitted documents. As a matter of fact, a good transcript can sell an applicant to the VO as a good and genuine student.

@ austinpee4. Thanks ...but I have paid full tuition fees ooooooo, and my 10,000cad is in my Dom acct...
Add it up with the funds you have in your account. Convert it to Canadian dollars and make the input. All the funds you have access to are your funds available be it in Canada or in your dom account.

Main thing should be that it meet IRCC's requirement for funds available for atleast the first year.

Good day folks, I look forward to applying to university of Alberta, mechanical engineering, Jan 2017 20.... intake. I intend to kick off the application by sending my transcript, CV and cover letter once my transcript is ready by OCTOBER. Is this achievable considering the time interval. Thanks.

Your target should be sept 2018 and beyond as most schools would have closed applications for international applicants for the winter 2018 term.

Both will undergo standard processing time of 30days as stipulated by their law.
The difference in these two is the cost. Having someone in canada makes it cheaper.

Hello House,
Please I want to withdraw my passport from Accra as my admission is date is tomorrow and my study permit is not ready. How do I go about the passport withdrawal please?

Thank you so much.
You will have to withdraw your application as well as you cannot withdraw your passport alone.

Send an email to accra.immigration@international.gc.ca requesting that your APPLICATION be withdrawn.

Include your passport number, full name and your VFS tracking number.

If you have or know your UCI/application number, include them. If you don't, proceed with the first details.

Hello beautiful peeps,

Am about to apply online for my student visa after getting admission to Humber.

The thing is am confused about the TRV thing, under optional documents I noticed upload TRV from, do I also need to apply and upload dis too or no need to apply for this as it comes with a student visa.

someone kindly help clear this, pls.
Not needed. Upload the compulsory documents. When your study permit is approved, a TRV will at the same time be issued. You do not need a seperate application for that.

You may upload your SOP in the letter of explanation tab.

Oya, my people, I need some clarifications from folks here. I am not privy to Canadian Student Visa but ask me anything about the US' I will tell you. Here are my questions:1. Is medical compulsory for all prospective students? What sort of medical is done if yes? I will appreciate your forthright answers. Pls pardoned me as the questions might have been answered in previous posts. Thanks.
Yes, completing a medical examination is mandatory for prospective student whose program will be more than 6 months in duration. There is such a thing as an upfront medical which you can do before you submit your study permit application. A confirmation sheet will be given to you to add to your supporting documents.

Alternatively, you can also wait to be instructed by the embassy to proceed for one after they have reviewed your application.

Hello gurus in the house, I applied for study permit on may 16, no response from cic till now, school resumes today should I go ahead and deferre my admission to January. And what evidence should I show for no response from cic. Thank you in advance for your reply.
Contact your school first to find out the last date for you to resume. Once, it get to the date and you still haven't heard from CIC, then you can defer citing delay in processing of your study permit application.

Its unlikely, but it can happen. Maybe fingerprints didn't come out correctly. And yes CIC does request for updated bank statement. And those saying application was denied and he didn't tell you, aren't you going to find out when you go in for biometrics? They will tell you whether the biometrics is done in compliance from a CIC request or for a new application.

Hardly will any VFS staff say anything in this light. They will just take an applicant biometrics irrespective of which case. Besides, if CIC requested a new biometric, it will come with a letter from them. VFS will use the instruction on the letter to proceed.

I'm strongly of the opinion that the agent is trying to play a quick one. The application most certainly have been refused. The agent only want to have things under his/her control. If it was an online application, it makes it very easy for the agent to conceal this issue and play over the applicant's ignorance of the procedure.

Biometrics and new account statement request couldn't have come at the same time. Applicant's admissibility would usually come first(biometric stage) before an officer reviews the other documents( supporting documents review). Something is not right. The person in context should simply ask questions about his/her application to find out what is really going on.

No letter at all
More reason you need your GCMS file. What an officer concludes on your file is archived and used as reference for future review. Only a federal court of Canada can nullify that conclusion and direct that a new application be reviewed without reference to the GCMS case file.
