skylar2020:Not needed. Common law union declaration are for couples that are not married by law but by habit and repute. Informal union. If you are legally married which i believe you are, you don't need the IMM5409 form. Only declare your marital status in the field provided and also include the marriage certificate as proof. |

ceceliaa34:Aunty, please don't waste your money. If your documents have valid signatures or stamps or seal of the issuing individual/organisation, they are fine. For the affidavit, it will be important you do one if your sponsor is a 3rd party. The high court should handle that for you. 1 Like |

princeadedayo:You have a valid point on how to go about the change in DLI. However, i noticed you didn't mention the other aspect which is the MOST important when changing DLI. So i will add it to your point. @Legendayo, There is a condition already on your study permit that have been approved and to change DLI, you must first meet that condition which is to 'be enrolled' on an outgoing basis at the time of your change. So just like @nairalandnewbie pointed out, You should be enrolled in the University of regina first either by registering for your courses before you travel in jan or pay your tuition or which ever way you can be enrolled in the school. After doing this, you can now notify CIC of the change in DLI. This will meet the condition on your study permit. You can do this before you travel or after you arrive Canada. Main thing is that at the time of your change of school, you have been registered in your desired school. Once you arrive Canada, you can then show officers at the POE your new offer letter as well as proof of enrolment. Hope this brings clarity. 8 Likes |

Wow! You are now somewhere on the Atlantic ocean. What a trip! You pop champagne, hi-fives went round, you even had a party! Silly friends are jealous of you, funny admirers are gazing in awe, dumb proteges came with notepads and of course you have a lot to share after all you are 40,000 feet up on the Atlantic while some are still struggling to take off and others can't even fly. But it's a trip from Lagos to New York! Celebrating over the Atlantic is as dumb as it gets. If you lose focus, or stop cruising, you will never arrive. Know the difference between progress and accomplishment, it will keep you focused, it will keep you moving, above all, it will keep you humble. People land at your dream destination everyday and just keep moving cos their destination is further and farther. Stay Humble, stay inspired, never settle. Just thought to share this here! #Culled. 16 Likes 1 Share |

1funn:Kindly note that resumption date and late registration date are two different things. CIC most times use the late registration date on the offer later. Once this date has passed, they most likely will request for a new offer letter. So yes, a study permit can be approved after the resumption date but there is high likelyhood they will request for a new offer letter after the last registration date has passed. |

jnyuwa02:Hehe. I know say you go won argue but as in my style, here is a snap shot of the lagos visa office instruction as evidence of what i posted. Also, Kindly note that information required for a study permit as published on CIC's website includes the visa office instruction and it is part of the application package. I have not agreed less that people get their application approved without their transcripts, ofcourse, we have seen such cases here. The point is that transcript is a REQUIREMENT for visa application. That is what i initially pointed out. Whoever choose to do otherwise does so at his/her peril. Also note that VAC do not issue instructions on documents to be submitted, all documents to be submitted are published by CIC and applicants are frequently advised to follow the visa office instructions as well. 7 Likes

Arebo:I get. File number is the same thing as application number. There will be no 'FILE' number written on the correspondence letter. It will be the same UCI and Application number on your account that will be quoted on the letter. So order your GCMS file with the application number on your account which should start with S.................., It is the same thing. 1 Like |

jnyuwa02:Baba J! This statement as emboldened is actually misleading. Transcript of all post-secondary education is a REQUIREMENT for visa processing as requested by the visa office (LAGOS) which serves Nigeria even though study permits are largely processed in Accra. Some people may have gotten their study permit approved without submitting but it is REQUIRED. I'd rather people follow the instruction of the visa office than feign ignorance to it. I have seen a GCMS note where an officer made reference to an applicant's performance in previous study and doubted if applicant would be able to withstand the rigorous academic pressure in Canada. So YES, they review all submitted documents. As a matter of fact, a good transcript can sell an applicant to the VO as a good and genuine student. 7 Likes |

All the funds you have access to are your funds available be it in Canada or in your dom account. Main thing should be that it meet IRCC's requirement for funds available for atleast the first year. |

abiriba:You will have to withdraw your application as well as you cannot withdraw your passport alone. Send an email to accra.immigration@international.gc.ca requesting that your APPLICATION be withdrawn. Include your passport number, full name and your VFS tracking number. If you have or know your UCI/application number, include them. If you don't, proceed with the first details. |

folmus:Yes, completing a medical examination is mandatory for prospective student whose program will be more than 6 months in duration. There is such a thing as an upfront medical which you can do before you submit your study permit application. A confirmation sheet will be given to you to add to your supporting documents. Alternatively, you can also wait to be instructed by the embassy to proceed for one after they have reviewed your application. |

limai17:Contact your school first to find out the last date for you to resume. Once, it get to the date and you still haven't heard from CIC, then you can defer citing delay in processing of your study permit application. |

jnyuwa02: Hardly will any VFS staff say anything in this light. They will just take an applicant biometrics irrespective of which case. Besides, if CIC requested a new biometric, it will come with a letter from them. VFS will use the instruction on the letter to proceed. I'm strongly of the opinion that the agent is trying to play a quick one. The application most certainly have been refused. The agent only want to have things under his/her control. If it was an online application, it makes it very easy for the agent to conceal this issue and play over the applicant's ignorance of the procedure. Biometrics and new account statement request couldn't have come at the same time. Applicant's admissibility would usually come first(biometric stage) before an officer reviews the other documents( supporting documents review). Something is not right. The person in context should simply ask questions about his/her application to find out what is really going on. 7 Likes |

ayonet:More reason you need your GCMS file. What an officer concludes on your file is archived and used as reference for future review. Only a federal court of Canada can nullify that conclusion and direct that a new application be reviewed without reference to the GCMS case file. |
