On Sunday, political violence witnessed in parts of the country continued with an explosion rocking the All Progressives Congress secretariat in Abam Ama, Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State. Punch learnt that unidentified persons threw dynamite into the three-storey APC secretariat at about 3.14am which caused extensive damage to the ground floor. The APC Chairman in the LGA, Mr. Christian Asifamak, who narrated the incident, said that his office was the worst hit as the entire wall was pulled down by the impact of the explosion.



“In the early hours of Sunday, some unknown group of persons threw dynamite into our party secretariat, he explained, lamenting that the attack was “a deliberate provocation by our opponents, the Peoples Democratic Party, to draw the APC into a battle
that could destabilise our LGA.”the APC in Okrika would not allow Okrika to become a hotbed of crises as the PDP would wish.”

Asifamak claimed that the PDP had resorted to violence because of its rejection by the Okrika for failing to bring development to their LGA.

“Till now the East-West Road through which we access our community has been left abandoned by a PDP-led Federal Government while Governor Chibuike Amaechi who is not an Okrika man built a ring road in Okrika and also rebuilt the portion of the federal road that links the LGA to the Port Harcourt refinery

At least Buhari has stated explicitly and publicly that he rebukes election violence and supporters that resorts to it. That is what a good leader does.

Has GEJ even mentioned a thing about the APC supporters that were attacked in rivers? Even if they were opposition party members, aren't they Nigerians over which he presides??


I'm not very surprised though, this is what you get when you have a president that sends condolence to France where 8 of its citizens where killed, yet kept mute when a whooping 2000 of his citizens were killed.

A party cannot reject members defecting from other parties. The presidential aspirants of APC are not former PDP members. That's enough for me. =)

+ it's a whole new platform for them. APC have so far publicised their anti-corruption stance, anyone that wants to defect to the party are very much aware of this and are ready to abide with the party policies.. I am okay with that too

What is sickening and absolutely sickening is the 16yrs of misrule of a party where the present candidate could explicitly defend embezzlement of public funds. "Stealing is not corruption"

Which sane individual will want to be associated with an entity like GEJ? Does the president really expect senator Ida to be a part of his re-election campaign when he has utterly failed to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians, especially his northern brothers?

first tackle the revenue leakage happening under your nose so that you can sniff well to perceive the loss of oil wealth happening in another persons domain.

My brother has been to the Inec office like 3 times already and he's been told the same thing again and again that 'PVCs for people that registered last year '2014' are not available yet' should we be worried? The Inec officials told him it's a nationwide thing, are other persons experiencing this?

Though we would all agree that Jonathan has failed us but obasanjo imposed him on us .He has no right to blame Jonathan .

Obj didn't impose anybody. All he did was give his unrivaled support to GEJ while he contested. We the electorates decided with our votes. Our president (current) is not the only government official in the world to have had a godfather root for him, Tinubu gave us fashola.

The real offense here is failing to live up to the very huge expectations of Nigerians. He has failed to secure our lives and properties and given our foods to the dogs while feeding us with bones. You can't blame obj for his failure. No one can be blamed for his cluelessness.

Now that everyone sees GEJ for what he is, 'a failure', his 2011 supporters and fans including myself are left with nothing but the choice to correct the mistakes we made back then. That is what obj is trying to do. He didn't expect this level of incompetence, no one did.

I feel seriously ashamed that I didn't vote this man in the 2011 elections! How could I have been so blind! Haaa! I don't care if the heavens descends on election day o, I am sooo writing my wrong and voting for GMB! Not even A billion USD can buy my vote now.
