Hello all, nice to be here again. I've been reading this thread as intending mum in faith. Now I can officially say I'm an intending mum. Yeahhh. Pregnant Finally. Intend birthing in Maryland (that's what hubby wants). Gotten intouch with an hospital there. Virginal birth for both doctor and hospital bill amount to 9k dollars. Pls anyone with info on any hospital in Maryland that is abit lesser than this. Yes I've been reading this thread sinceee. I think the only hospital that someone talked about in Maryland is PG hospital with an estimate of 6k. I remember @phema referring someone to some pages. Googled those hospitals and called and one was even giving me a quote of 25k dollars. Pls anyone with any info would be appreciated. Trying to explore more options b4 makin up my mind. Cheers

Whaooo. Such a wonderful birth story. I can't wait for mine though its still next year. Pls what hospital did u use. Our family hospital is eko hospital and on two ocassions that I've been there since I got pregnant, I don't like the doctors attitude. Na so so young doctors who look like doctors who just finished from medical school. I remember when I told d doctor I was seeing brown discharged, he told me it is missed abortion until I requested for scan and it showed that everytin was okay

Preshila: First and foremost, stop dipping ur finger(s) into your vjay, very unhygienic practice. You may introduce some very dangerous microbes down there and let's not even forget Ebola. please and please stop doing that. Take all ur complaints to a doctor for proper examination.
At 6 weeks, your womb should still be deep in your pelvis, which means you should not have started showing now. As for your preggy symptoms getting much, its quite normal and it would peak by 8-10 weeks and start subsiding thereafter...You are very much okay, nothing is wrong with you. you can wait for another 2 weeks before going for a scan. These are just my opinions and should not take precedence over a doctor's judgement. Wish you a successful 9 months and beyond...

Thanks for the advise. I've been to the hospital for a scan and it says everythin is normal. Though I was asked to come back later for further checks. I won't dip my hand to my vee vee againoo. I actually got use to it durin ttc period when I always try to check for ewcm but I make sure I wash my hands wit soap very well b4 doing it. Thanks for d concern

Somebody please help meeee. I'm six weeks pregnant. I usually dip my hand into my virginal to check the colour of the discharge. Starting from week five, I noticed that after dippin my hand into the virginal, it looks white but when I clean the hand with tissue, its brownish. I initially felt mayb its the pregnacare I was taking that turned my discharge into brown. But even now at six weeks, the discharge is still brownish. I don't have any pain, infact my lower abdomen feels hard and somhow gettin bigger. My pregnancy sympton is increasing by the day. As I type I'm irritated with the food I use to love especially fish. My basal temperature is still high. Just three days ago I still did a pregnancy test and the lines were bolder than it has ever been. Please I hope I'm okay. Should I go for a scan? Is this brownish discharge nornmal? Pls helppp

@ adorablemom, I also had similar experience. I stopped seeing the ewcm during ovulation. Some doctors on birthcenter said its possible u are producing it but it could be in small quantity so it will only stay up in ur cervix, hence u won't be able to see it except if u really tdeep ur fingers right upp to the cervix. I tried that but I still didn't see anytin. Mayb I didn't deep my finger up enof. So I decided to get an ovulation prediction kit. I bought the clear blue digital ovulation kit. My sister it really worked. It helps to predict ur ovulation 12-36 hrs prior ovulation. Also I started taking my bbt( basal body temperature). I bought a digital thermometal at a pharmacy. I take my temperature first tin in the morning before gettin out of bed. I started on the 1st day of my cycle.
The bbt helps u to know after u must have ovulated. The day after I ovulated, my temperature rised about 4 degrees, that was how I knew ovulation had actually occured. I aslo heard for those that feel they aren't producing ewcm that thers a supplement called fertilecm.I didn't use that oo but a lot of people gave review on birthcenter about how it helped them. For me I didn't feel any ewcm, infact my cm arnd my ovulation was watery but still got a bfp. Just trust God. I was actually worried but dh told me to relax.I hope I was able to help.

Hello everyone, I've been a very silent reader of this thread for sometime now. To the glory of God, I just got my bfp. I can tell u for the short while I was ttc, the journey wasn't easy. People tell u to relax but the truth is, its not so possible. Expecially the two weeks wait after ovulation. Its like torture. But I've learnt that God is truly the giver of children. We just have to keep pressing at his door till he answers. The cycle when I took in was the cycle I didn't even take my usual folic acid, same as my hubby too who was usin folic acid and zinc. I got angry and tired using it, but hubby said he even forgot about it. I'm not trying to discredit the importance of this drug but somewhere deep down in my heart, I felt my spirit tellin me that God wounldnt want us to give the glory to this drugs I was using so I stopped. The cycle I stopped was the cycle the conception happened. I want to encourage us here that though weeping may endure for a night, but joy comet in the morning. By the time God will turn around our captivity, it will be like a dream. Don't give up. Let's keep praying, and trusting God. D cycle I conceived, all my husband and I did was praying, thanksgivng, personal vigils, and I also sowed some seeds in my church. I also paid my tithe that month. The sunday b4 it happened, was thanksgiving sunday, I danced like never before believing God and he did it. So my dear sisters, don't give up. U never know when ur miracle will come. LyndaRoyce: @aye88.. From your post, its obvious that you're in your 1st trimester thus what you're experiencing now could be part of the package(morning sickness) which is a condition that is normally short-lived. But if it continues after your 1st trimester, you SHOULD GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR.

well, I'd advise u drink plenty of fluids in order to replace lost fluid. Take banana, rice,meat, fibre, apple, vegetables, it helps a great deal. Kpele
And lastly, avoid tight jean trousers dis period, wear free gowns and skirt..... For easy passage of shyytt....make u no go shyyt for body when u dey try pull jeans...lol

Hello everyone. Nice to be here. I just newly got pregnant and I'm soo excited and grateful to God. The only issue is that I've been stooling oooo. The moment I eat, I end up in d toilet. More like diarhrea. I get hungry but I'm always scared to eat cos it goes down the toilet. I wanted to take tetracycline but hubby said I shouldn't try it, that I shld just try and manage. But its killin me. I'm gettin hungry but can't eat because of stoolin again. Pls what can I take or do.

Dechica: I finally got into the states on 15th July through Dulles Washington. The officer at the POE kept asking for drs appointment on letter headed paper, I had only a verbal one. Anyways he finally sent me to the customs office were I was warned of the consequences of not paying my bills and sent on my way. Am in Maryland at the moment and would commence hospital runs next week after I have rested. Thanks to all whose contributions made it easier for me.

LeonessAug: @Dinah, many here are not first time moms and have also used diff. hospitals in the US... I have never read from them comparing their diff experiences other than even making it as preferences for others. So ask yourself why it's always MIHS vs ELPASO.

Bo2: handed me a form to feel and said he would not want to stress me and circled the relevant places for me to fill, told me I could ask him any question I don't understand.
Me: finished and was giving back the form
Bo2: so u own a provision shop
Me: no, I supply household items, eg. Microwave, electric jugs etc
Bo2: is it the first time u are traveling wit so much cash
Me: yes

American airways, US airways, united. Ive flown united frm chicago to washington and I was allowed only one bag for free. Paid for my second bag. For american airways I was allowed to carry in two bags free. I think ot depends on the airline. They usually have it written on their website when u re booking

From what i have read on this thread, having a baby in houston is cheaper because they have good packages, the thing is she has a sister in colorado. I'ld like to also know if there are suitable hospitals one can call and follow up over there

Also is it too late to start the planning at 15 weeks, can we say we are going for holiday instead of stating that we want to have the baby there? My wife hasnt travelled out of Nigeria before how does that affect her chances even though i have travelled out of Nigeria and work for an American company in Nigeria and can show proof that i can foot all the bills. can we get the visa with the intention of staying in colorado but instead stay on our own in houston?


If I want to apply for visa with the intent of stating that we want to have our baby in america, wht documents will I have to show to back up the application.

Apply for a medical visa which comes under the b1/b2 category. But prior to this, choose an affordable hospital where u will want to have ur baby. There are some previously mentioned on this thread. Take d pain to read thru u will find hospitals in houston that oda people on this thread have used. Book an appointment with then and u will ne sent a confirmation or email correspondence as the case may be. U will take this to the embassy when u apply. Also make reservations for ir hotel accommodation. U will find suggestion of accommodation on this thread. Just read thru frm beginning. Also u cam do a spreadsheet of all budget, this u will also take to d embassy. Other documents arr ur bank account statement, ur wife's own or depending on who's sponsoring the trip btw u both.
