Having applied in the last week of in December 2018, I did my bio-metrics first week January 2019. i followed the advise given here by mentioning that i would be having my baby while on visit to my brother. The response to application came yesterday and I was denied. It was specifically mentioned that my coming to have baby was the reason for denial.

This is not to say anyone should lie about their intentions, I am just giving feedback..................

Whaoooo. Which way to go. Please was it stated that childbirth isn't allowed or what. Or it's a crime. How can they deny you solely on that basis. Please can you share exactly how it was written?. Did you apply alone. What about the documents you submitted. So sorry about this

So, I have just gone through my documents and the MA office is the "The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services" and what they sent to me was an "All Claims Report". I hope it helps someone although like I mentioned, each State will probably have it's office. This one was for MassHealth.

On a more serious note, I will advise those who can and are sure they are most likely some good percentage sure of their qualification for the Canada TRV, to apply ASAP. Applications can be treated in 1, 2, 3 week(s) this period, but after now - say from April/May even as early as March - you might just be on a long thing. July/August has proved to be a no-go area over time, processing your application then can take up to between 3-6 months no joke. Be forewarned, be forearmed!

Also factor in the likelihood of a mad-rush happening too because of US visa rejections for both renewal (these lots have seriously turned to Canada and are actually the major reason the Canada Visa and birthing threads have come alive and are somewhat beginning to boom) and those never granted before, and that loads of peeps are more interested in checking out of naija urgently this period, this second occurrence might change later in the year too - long after the elections. Someone has once said here before. She applied online. Filled in tourism as purpose of travel and indicated in her letter of explanation that she will also be using the visa for childbirth. You can also try it like this. From the last mail sent here, seem online application took about a month. So you can try online

I just got my visa and for 4 years too! And in two weeks even!!
There are two options: you either specify it under purpose of visit and put OTHER and insert childbirth
Or if it’s an Online application to indicate it at point of entry. Most important thing is not to LIE

Like someone rightly said, their country, their decision. Afterall, if Nigeria was so stable why go through the stress of leaving your family, your comfortable house to fly with big belle for almost 17hrs to 24hrs depending on the airline, only to go and be a squatter in your hosts house and be trying to be in your best behavior for 2months or more? America is not even like the uk where you can move easily without help from someone, this one you go out only when they go out to save uber cost.

So please those who are advising we look for more expensive hospitals, in this present economy? So I will see hospital package of 5k then I will open eye to go and pay 15k because I want to please the VO? For goodness sake did I commit a crime by signing a hospital agreement?

Even the 5k sef is not convenient but most of us do this for the future of our kids not because we have one tree growing dollars (I pray for that kind of anointing this 2019). Not the one your child will want to study overseas tomorrow then they'll keep denying him/her for NO strong reason. If I give birth in Nigeria, I'll have hot pepper soup with fresh fish, I'll have people waiting on me 24/7 but for abroad who send you? If my country was better will I have to stress myself?

It's just unfortunate that a lot of people are getting denied this period on bases of previous childbirth. I wish everyone who needs to apply now success. Abeg, if you know any cheap hospital (3k sef) holla at me By God's grace, before I'll need to renew, VO's temper go don cool down.

Sorry for the loong rant Abeg.

1. Ensure you fill your Nigerian address for ALL documents not just Birth certificate please. Hospital records et all should have your Nigerian address. This may make it difficult for hospitals to apply for Medicaid on your behalf since it is obvious that you don't reside in America and cannot be entitled to Medicaid.

2. For now, you can go for a higher priced hospital because it seems to be what they are also considering to detect Medicaid fraud. I do not like this approach because I believe it is the government's responsibility to weed out Medicaid fraud and not yours, but it is what it is.

3. It is not a do or die affair. Trump has stated that he would try to stop birth tourism. Once that happens Nigerians will face another country even if the country na remote island in the middle of nowhere, Nigerians will reach there. We need to consider fixing this nation by fixing ourselves. We can't continue like this. Seriously.

Please i just booked a follow up appointment for June 14th, i checked on rescheduling the appointment but it said that there were no appointments available.

please how can i get an earlier date than June? The site shows the earliest date as February 25th

Yes it is possible. Keep checking on the site and once you see an earlier date, you cancel your existing appointment. Thereafter go to the home page to book the new date available.

This was the steps used in changing my date from April to January.

I’m not sure, but the first thing that came to my mind is chicken pox since it’s itchy too. You can take her to a clinic for proper diagnosis and treatment.
