RashMe: Pls mamas, help touchlight my mata. B4 pregnancy, i was weighing 75kg, during pregnancy and since i give birth, its been 100-102kg. My tummy looks like am still 6months pregnant but my baby is almost 7months old.
Pls mamas, what can i do or take to reduce dis absurd weight & tummy?? Pls help
cc; zaynie, kaffy4bill, tchiwinne, modath, beedam and all sabi mamas Lol. Ur post just got me Lol. Well I will say exercise and exercise. It's a long route but it's worth the wait. Then try and cut down on thequantity of food you eat. I mean the portion you eat at once. Cut down on carbs, take more vegetables and food rich in fiber. Stop late night feeding. And maybe while you re at it, while doing all this, you can get awaist trainer for the tummy. For other mama's pls and pls, one secret to having a flat tummy after childbirth is getting a post partum belt and using it immediately after delivery. It helps to putthe tummy back to place at least to avery large extent |

Onegai: Thanks. I've used Pampers Swaddlers (disliked them so much I didn't bother using it up ). However I'm surprised you're using just 3 per day: that their dri-weave on the diaper tends to leave marks or pull soft skin if left on for long (I and a few other mums had that experience and yeah, it was the U.S. manufactured ones we bought). Since your boy is. using size 4, im assuming he's passed the stage when he's constantly peeing but pees more volume but less. often, right?
Any other mamas share their diapering experiences? A couple of my friends are doing research on what to buy for their babies next year and I promised them I'd give unbiased answers for a lot of methods and brands. Thanks. I also use the pampers swaddlers and huggies snug and dry and little snugllers. Got them all as gifts in the US and shipped it down. Infact it's been super savings for us. My baby almost 8months now uses 3per day and even sometimes 2 iff no poo. She has never had rashes though I use AandD diaper cream and sometimes shea butter. Her diapers doesn't get soggy too even though she takes lots ofwater. |

bee2bee: Good morning mamas, Am a FTM and trying to shop for my baby. Please advise me. Does the baby really need a cot or can I buy this Graco play yard that has a sleeping bassinet. 2. For how long can the baby use an infant car seat? Please mamas I need your response cos I want to take advantage of the black friday deals on amazon next tmrw. Biko buy the cot. It will save you and ur sanity like onegai said. Better to start making baby independent. As for the playyard, my aunt's kids Infact two boys used it till they were one year old and moved to the toddler bed. But I feel the cot especially the convertible one will serve purpose as you can also use it for toddler bed. As for the infant carseat, baby can use it till one year. My baby is 7month and she's been on the car seat from day one we left the hospital and from the look of tins, she will still use it till year one. |

Onegai: Hilarious funfact: the immunization medicine given by private hospitals is actually purchased from the Federal Govt. All the standard WHO ones are subsidized and shared by the Federal Govt. The only reason I'm using private is because someone was using mind to convince us to not go to local govt for immunization and Baby E's dad fell for it. The basic immunization is supposed to be cheap or free but private hospitals like convincing people that since FG and Nigeria is so messed. up, parents should trust them.
Private hospitals are basically making you pay expensively for affordable vaccines.
Rotavirus is given outside Naija at 14 weeks sha. Let me add to what u just said. When we started the immunization stuff with my LO, our HMO didn't cover for some and those ones that weren't covered for were quite expensive like HIB and pnneumococcal( pardon the spelling), rotavirus. After we took the first one which cost about 22k, I told my husband that we just take her to the health centers where it's given free of charge by the Fed govt. My husband who is a pharmacist objected to it. I asked why, that afterall everyone go there for their LO immuni. He said the storage system of this vaccine is the issue. That this vaccines have to be stored in the fridge once open. That because it's provided by the govt enmass, there's a likely hood that proper care is not been used in storing them hence the potency of the vaccines is destroyed. He said that with the electricity situation in the country, who knows how or if they even store them in the fridge or not. My younger sister LO got immunised by the health center, mine at private hospital, both babies doing great, very great sef. Do I believe my husband's theory? Maybe. 50percent of nigerian kids get immunised at this free health centers and they are doing great and not dead. It depends on one's pocket besides only God has the ultimate say |

If you don't find in Lagos, you can also look for 'soap flakes'. It's a very mild detergent that's good for baby clothes and readily available, affordable too (like N600 per box)it's in a dark blue box. It served me well for my son and i'll be using for my daughter when we're back in Lagos. Thanks shelly, will check it out |

bbiz: Hello Moms, I have been reading and i just have to ask? Why are moms paying for Airline bassinet they might not use? Anyway, I paid for my first baby and didn't really use it. I later found out that all i needed was my travel baby bed i bought for about $39 would have done a perfect job carrying my baby to nija lol. Seriously all you need is the travel baby bed it is affordable and can be carried along side with your carry on. Wish you all a safe travel back home. Hello dear, no one is paying for baby bassinet. It's free and the airline do not require you to pay. What mothers here are saying is that you have to call the airline to book/reserve one for you on your travel date because it's usually given on a first come first serve basis especially where you have a lot of babies onboard |

Hello great great mama's, please come to my aid. I never in my widest dream thought I will be in this situation even when this has been discussed severally here. My baby just clocked 6months. She's been on Exculsive breastmilk. While on EBF, I usually express whenever I wasn't home and she was been bottle fed. Even when we go out, we bottlefeed her with breastmilk and there's been no issue. But recently I noticed each time we try to bottle feed her with the breastmilk, she rather plays with the bottle teet or useses it to scratch her gum. I didn't see that as abigdeal anyway cosshe still ends up drinking it though it takes longer. Now she's on Enfamil and it's been war. Initially she will play with the teet and drink and play again. But nowshe doesn't even want. The moment I bring the bottle to her mouth, she starts pulling back. Initially I tried spoon, she took it but now bothe spoon and bottle is war. I've tried the ready to feed Enfamil and the powdered Enfamil, im tired. Though it's been two days we started ds journey. My husband has also tried to feed her samle thing. Didn't know we will have this issue cos she took the breastmilk well with the bottle. And prior to now she usually tries to eat our food whenever we eat. She struggles with my hand and tries to bring it to her mouth . So I knew she was ready to start on solid. Pls mama's, what do we do. I have similac too at home, shld I try that with her, maybe it's enfamil taste she doesn't like or continue to battle with her till she accpets the bottle. Thanks all |

bims87: That's called Alefo in Yoruba language. People say it's mostly fat babies or babies that have tendencies to be fat that often have it(Old wives' tale). My baby had it and when I took him to the hospital(during resident Doc's strike) ,the matron that attended to me said it's nothing and asked me to apply a topical cream (Clotriderm)that I was given on his hands and if it doesn't get better in 2 days I should bring him back to the hospital. It cleared up within 2 days. He had it again like a month later on his palm and at the back of his hands too and I still applied the cream and it cleared up. God bless you for this |
