oduademonest: Smart people chang their minds all the time. New information came to light that Lawan didn't have when he hired him. Based on the new information, Festus Dodoyo's position became untenable, so he was fired. That does not make Ahmed Lawan weak.
It shows that Ahmed Lawan is a cerebral person who believes in superior argument. Either way, Festus Dodoyo has moved on, you need to move on as well.
As chief of staff to the Senate president, you are working for the Nigerian people. Every good Nigerian has an obligation to heed the call to serve the motherland when called. That is what Festus did. Stop taking things personal. This is not Festus vs Lawan or Festus vs Buhari.
Remember, evil thrives when good people do nothing. You can only effect change from the inside. He did nothing wrong by accepting the offer.
They don't feel that he is the right fit because of his criticism, no biggie. Lol... New information my foot! Lawan personally interviewed and hired Festus. He interviewed Festus and others and as an adult, he felt Festus was more qualified and he hired him. For ur information, Lawan actually succumbed to pressure, threat and blackmail. That shows he is vulnerable. |
Politics › Re: Festus Adedayo : The Festus They Thought They Could Pull Down by Ayed44: 11:30am On Jun 21, 2019 |
Two things are clear here:
1. Senator Lawan exposed himself as a weak man for withdrawing an appointment he voluntarily and personally made. I pity Nigeria for having such a weak man as the Senate President.
2. Festus Adedayo has himself to blame. He is a staunch critic of Buhari and he should not have accepted the appointment from Senator Lawan, knowing fully well that Lawan is now Buhari's house boy. His quest for appointment allowed him to be dragged in the mud. |

The response from the presidency was as a result of the statement credited to OBJ. Let the presidency shows us a copy of the invitation sent to and received by Obasanjo. |

That title is reserved for sitting heads of state It was a honor. Some people criticized GEJ when he awarded GCON, an Honor essentially meant for vice presidents, to Dangote and Mike Adenuga. |

APCHaram: So you don't know that prior to declaring June 12 a public holiday and naming Abuja stadium after Abiola, Buhari granted approval for MKO to be posthumously declared as former president which Kingibe automatically benefited as ex VP? Abiola was never a president. You cannot be a president unless u swore to the oath of office. What Buhari for Abiola was a mere honor. Abiola was never declared a president elect by the chairman of the electoral commission and Abiola was never sworn in as a president. |

- The governor submitted her name twice to the House of Assembly they rejected her due to alleged falsification of age (thanks for the correction). She was in Acting capacity.
- She had a press conference that the reason why the house rejected her was because she is a Christian.
- Unable to get confirmation from the House, the Governor appointed someone else as CJ. Did the governor sack her? |

Enyinnaya Abaribe (Minority Leader) Emmanuel Bwacha (Dep. Minority Leader) Philip Adudua (Minority Whip) Clifford Ordia (Dep. Minority Whip)
No SW etc.... Is this how to unite Nigeria and make it work as they falsely mounted so as to deceive the gullible?
I expected CAN to also talk about this Does the Southwest have a ranking senator in the current Senate? |

SillyMods: A president who is not appreciated in his home, is that one a president?
A former president who couldn't win his polling booth for his anointed candidate, is that one a respected president?
In years and generations to come, when people will be remembering Nnamdi Azikwe, Murtala Muhammed and now MKO Abiola through the national monuments named after them, only few will remember Obasanjo.
Argue with common sense. You can try harder. But have it in ur head that Obasanjo's name in the history of Nigeria has already been written in gold, no amount of hatred from you can change that. Lastly, Obasanjo was a president, but I wish Abiola was a president. |

SillyMods: So, MKO had always been the "bigger boy" which OBJ didn't like even as far back as then?
No wonder OBJ hates anything that has to do with Abiola.
Unfortunately for him, the name MKO Abiola lives on even in death. With his own sterling record of being a former military HOS and civilian president twice, he may never attain the status MKO Abiola has now achieved in Nigeria.
I won't be surprised if down the line, MKO Abiola's image is embedded in one of our currency notes to spite the useless man further.
Kudos to PMB for seriously dealing with Baba Iyabo while he's alive. This is childish. Very childish. |

OBJ should be hiding somewhere after being embarrassed by the present government for enforcing what he failed to.
Ibb has his name still battered for annuling abiolas election.
Abdusalam was part of the annulment.
Ernest shonekan probably feels he should be idolized instead of abiola

Politics › How Next Senate President, Speaker Will Emerge – Senator Gaya by Ayed44(op): 8:23am On Jun 02, 2019 |
Senator Kabiru Gaya (APC Kano South), says President of the Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives and their deputies in the ninth National Assembly, will be elected through secret ballot. Gaya said this in a chat newsmen on Thursday, in reaction to calls for the open ballot system. He said a member in the Senate could move a motion for the amendment of the existing rule before the expiration of the life of the present Assembly and that the procedure must follow due process. Gaya said, “I am a member of the National Assembly. And we were able to do these rules together. We cannot change it now unless a member of the Senate moves for that change. “If he moves for the change and somebody seconds it, the motion will be debated and the same thing goes for the House of Representatives. “If there is discrepancy between the Senate and the House, we will set up a Conference Committee. And they will bring it to us to find a date to sit down and pass it. Can you do that in one month?” https://dailypost.ng/2019/05/09/next-senate-president-speaker-will-emerge-senator-gaya/amp/

Politics › BREAKING: Court Of Appeal Sacks Ned Nwoko As PDP Senator-elect by Ayed44(op): 11:42am On May 30, 2019 |
The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, has nullified the emergence of Ned Nwoko as the senator representing Delta North Senatorial District. The court in a decision on Thursday said the case instituted at the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court which resulted in the recognition of Mr Nwoko as the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission was wrongly filed. The appellate court ruled that the matter ought to have been brought at the lower court before the expiration of 14 days from the time of the incidence that birthed the suit. It further ruled that the failure of the applicant at the lower court to file the case before the expiration of 14 days meant that the case had become statute barred and the lower court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the matter in the first place. “As at the time the matter was instituted at the Federal High Court, the case was statute barred. We set aside the decision of the Federal High Court and strike out the case,” the court ruled. INEC had withdrawn the certificate of return it issued to Mr Nwoko’s contender Peter Nwaoboshi, following the FHC decision. With the appeal court decision, Mr Nwaoboshi will now be recognised as the senator-elect for the district. Messrs Nwoko and Nwaoboshi are both of the PDP and had contested for the ticket of the party in the primaries. The PDP later won the senatorial election in the district with Mr Nwaoboshi as its candidate. After the initial high court ruling, INEC withdrew the certificate issued to Mr Nwaoboshi and presented same to Mr Nwoko; a decision that would now be reversed based on the appeal court ruling. Details later… https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/332461-breaking-court-of-appeal-sacks-ned-nwoko-as-pdp-senator-elect.html
