It is still good to leave the country. Not that you will/will not become a millionaire but my dear "YOU GO Learn" But do not sell off all your belongings, trust me, you need back up all the time |
"Pray" indeed that the proposed plan to supply energy works. There is no assurance form Mr Smart that it will, nay , there is no plan. Fix the energy problem, generators will go away. Try it. |
Will someone kindly explain to me the sequence of leadership of Oyo state over the past 8 years or so? I see Akala, then I see the other guy' name. It will help me to understand the topic. Why is it now that the Afenifere want him to resign? Of course, I cannot tell if this is the first time they are making the call, but I can tell that the Akala guy has terrorised my people in Oyo state from before Day 1. Please that guy does not even look like Yoruba. |
@nanaboi Bad Boy, tsk, tsk, @ all Good twisty drabbles |
@ayanfe. Thank you for your insightful post. Recently, there was a release about the FDA requiring that Pharmaceutical companies should publish results that prove that their products work and those researches that prove no effectiveness and a lot of side effects. We were taught to believe that resistant strains of bacteria arise from non compliance or abuse of antibiotics, but in scientific circles, discussion abound about lab created resistant strains. I do not know any poster personally on this thread, but I do take exception to foul language when a person disagrees with me (or anyone). I willnot be debating further with texapette. I hope he is content in his belief in wikipedia. As a scientist not blinded by colour, (I was raised in Nigeria), I know there is a lot more to the HIV story than is currently made known to "ogberi" |
No, unless you are fleeing to safety. Otherwise, bear what you can bear and once you have an opportunity, calmly state your appreciation and wish to leave. |
I received this link today.I do not know for sure how old this story is but I think it is worth sharing. Nature?? I'll take Allah Akbar anyday Ma salaam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88WRtdz0RDk&feature=related In English narrative http://www.weshow.com/us/p/38415/leopard_adopts_baby_baboon |
@Olabowale Someone sent me a youtube video onthis leopard today. I'll post it on the Islams only. Allah Akbar! |
Sorry I cannot help you but I have a similar predicament so I figured adding mine here will bump the thread and hopefully some brilliant dude or dudette can answer our questions. The novel/book whose title I need was about two half sisters living with their "mom" and dad. The other mother had left for reasons that I cannot recall. One of the two sisters was really well behaved and did well at home and in school. The other was very troublesome and would sing songs to ridicule the "mom" at home. Also not very serious with school. Towards the end, it was revealed that the woman that left was actually the mother to the "good" sister while "mom" was actually mother to the "bad" sister. Everyone knew except the "bad" sister. She changed her ways and everoyne lives happily ever after. Read it in Elementary school |
serious ?how sweet of you ![]() I keep trying my hands on these writeups |
@Luc, Thanks for the clarification. @texape Research happy? And wikipedia?? You can surely do better than that. It is obvious, isn't it. What criteria did you apply to your quoted references? You are not the authority on this topic. Lashing out at people who do not agree with you does not change the fact. This, for me, has nothing to do with race but more to do with truth. Feel free to believe what you will, in a few years, more papers will be published that tell the truth about HIV. |
@luc Are you a scientist? It was a little hard to follow what you had to say. I am, so my question is pretty simple and straightforward. |
You are even more childish than I thought, yes you David. You are banned not only from the muslim section but other sections as well. Simple reason is you are a poor communicator, learn boy. |
@David, it's a shame that you are not even man enough to admit when you are wrong. Me "policing" you is beside the point, I already told you i will do that. Your family back home believe that you will be successful in the US, so I have to constantly remind you on the rules of engagement. ![]() |
If you are a scientist, you can tell us that HIV/AIDS originated from Africe. i.e. You found out by research that this is so. But pleaseeee, stop quoting the same people who belong to the era of scientists that performed the Tuskegee experiment. |
Dear brother, Assalam alaikum My advice to you about prayers is to keep doing something about it. You are doing great in that it bothers you that you are missing/delaying prayers. The nextstep is to begin to act on the concern and insha Allah, it will get better. We will also remember you in our prayers. |
Mama rocked in her chair. Images of youth flashed before her eyes. “That could be me, or not” she thought; These days she’s unsure. A small smile danced at the corners of her lips. Her eyes are misty. Bunmi comes in with a man in a long white robe. “Alagba, for the past three months, mother has become worse, saying unbelievable things”. Mama stared at them; no recognition. “If I say nothing, I would do no wrong”, she thought. “ Oh shlanga busta Kramer” Alagba chants, prancing around the room. “Jeez, this one is crazier than I am” Mama smiled |
I rush franctically upstairs, placed the baby on the couch. “Oh…honey, wait for mo…, mmy” I managed. Dashed to the bathroom rummaging through the cabinets. It should be here, I thought. I could feel the tightening. I should have had one in my purse. But I found none there. Jack’s giant must have ailed from what ails me, I thought, as I listen to myself. Okay, stop, think, remember… Yes, I left it in the bedroom. Quickly, to the bedroom and there it was. Click. Prime. Click. Prime again. Big breath in. “Puff”. Hold a while. Aaaahhh. Heavenly relief from Albuterol |
It’s beautiful outside and a well-preened Lucy steps out in the lobby. At 104, she had buried her four offsprings, the youngest died at age 75. Each of them had joined her in the nursing home and subsequently died leaving her behind. “Hey Lucy, what are you up to today? She gives John a toothless smile; he is one of the few who knew she was not senile. A diagnosis of Alzheimer had been made based on her feigning the symptoms. Years on Broadway had not been wasted, she thought. “I’m good, boy, I’m good,” she laughed inwardly, I am. |
@David I bet you would consider it insultive if I applied the terms "hypocrite" and "sounding idiotic" to your person. You keep going on about "Islam only section" but you are always just a click away. I hope you are not a liar. I am sure that you were not banned simply for posting on the Islamic section, you must have violated the rules. Like I said, watch your language. At least, all these efforts at teaching you "posting etiquettes" would not be in vain. We clearly understand what you say without you adding the insultive words. |
O ma seo David. You are either truly abiiko, Or akoo gba You are so quick to throw insults and if I start with you now, you become a cry baby, hennn |
@moshewd Salam and welcome to the forum, here we learn and teach. Those who are proud of Allah and His Messenger, Allah is proud of them. May Allah count us among the blessed ones. Amin |
@away for Try as much as you can to convince yourself,we both know that you do not mean what you say. Showing a "tough" exterior does not subdue the turmoil that you feel inside. at this level of discussion, it is off point when you start saying "Isa" is not "Jesus" or the other way round. This is just a play on words (or names)and translation. Ask David, even he is smart enough to know that but will he tell this time? Hmnnnn that's another question. If you do not look in the Quran, I understand. Not everyone is ready to stepout of their comfort zone or be confronted with the stark truth. |
O da o' aafa Dawud ![]() |
Threatening?? With the torment of the grave? or The Day of Reckoning? Who am I to threaten you? I only inform you as I have always done. And I know it is burning a hole in your heart. you can hardly sleep just thinking about it. Give yourself peace by submitting to the will of your Creator, ALLAH. Seriously, there is no need for abusive language from either side of this discussion. |
Pretending something is not there does not make it go away. There is more than enough biblical references to Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) that have been posted on nairaland. I will not be reposting them, As for you saying that Prophet Isa/Jesus (AS) is not in the Quran or that the one in the Quran is different from the one in the bible, you may just have completed the fabrication of your religion. Worse than earlier thought and you will have a lot of explaining to do in the grave (bet you didn't know about that one) and on the day of reckoning. We will inform you of the truth and you will know in your hearts that it is the truth. |
@redhc You got it completely wrong. I had hoped for an intellectual discourse and we seem to be headed away from it.taking it from the last segment of your post; if a christian accepted the prophethood of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh), there would be absolutely no logical point of him/her remaining a christian because it would be clear to him/her then that Islam is the religion practised by Jesus and all other great men of God (I mean prophets). No inferiority complex here, a muslim does not deny Prophet Isa/ Jesus (AS) simply because a christian denies the Holy Prophet Mohammed (pbuh). Such a person would not be considered a muslim. I hope this aids your understanding. About the bible verses, you know exactly where to find those verses. I would expect you to since you are a christian, I presume. If not, I can pull them up for you. It may take me a little while though as I do not wish to quote incorrectly. |
there is indeed none as blind as those who refuse to see. |
@Redhotchic, I read Babs post. he did not say Jesus (AS) was described as a "non living thing" He said the word "anointed" was used in the bible to qualify both animate and inanimate objects. This is easily confirmed by looking through the bible. He was a prophet and messenger of the most High. I understand you may not agree but it does not change the fact. |
Jesus (AS). AS is an abbreviated form of "alayhi salatu wasalam". It means "Peace of God be upon him" . We , muslims, say this blessings whenever we hear or mention a prophet's name. |
@ Red---- He could have been any of those colors, but I may be wrong in assuming that you care more about his message than his color. I do not know his exact color but I am sure some historical texts may supply this answer to your satisfaction. |
Quick correction please, I am not a pessimist. It is funny because "G8" (according to "This Day") is concerned about it. |
