Please lawyers in the house I seek your advice and help over my tussle with my firm.
They have concluded plans at my firm to arrest my guarantors. The same firm that is owing me backlog of salaries would go after my guarantors because at some point when delay in payment of salaries became unbearable for me, I decided to stop remitting whatever I made from my production for them until I am paid by them.
By the companys standard it is wrong, but there was no way I could manage the situation and as a matter of fact you need money to make money for them which if your production was not up to scratch you will be queried. So because I could not secure another job I remained in the job. At the initial stage I would go out of way to make money for them and remit everything but at the end of the month, bang there would be a deafening silence. No salary. The situation became so bad that at some point I was owed five months.
So I decided enough is enough. So I began to withold the money I made from my productions for them until they pay me too. I decided on this course of action especially because I heared that what they did to people in time past is that after owing staffs for months, they will now pay lets say four out of nine months and brazenly tell you to forget the remaining five or go to court. I do not want to feel used by anybody or firm so I decided that at every point in time I must be with some of their money. So I wont be on the receiving end if they put up any funny behaviour.
So some weeks ago the firm eventually discovered what I have been up to. I was asked to submit all their equipments which I did.
So they demanded that I pay up all what I am owing them. When I did my calculation, they are owing me a little bit more than I am owing them. I asked to be paid my entitlements too. They insist I should pay them first. Someone in their ranks exposed their insecerity that I have been sacked and will not be paid anything if I obliged them and Pay up their money.
They started cajoling me to pay. I offered that they should deduct their their money from my salaries with them.
They rejected flatly and said they will be going to arrest my guarantors.
Lawyers in the house please advise me on how to go about this. I dont want them to go near my guarantors at all.

The Federal Government has faulted claims by the Lagos State Government that a Federal High Court has shut down the Ikoyi Marriage Registry , insisting that the report is false.
The Ministry of Interior said that the court presided over by Justice Chuka Obiozor simply upheld the judgment of a Federal High Court delivered in 2002 which was not appealed.
It explained that the case, Suit No : FHC/L /CS /1760/16- Egor Local Government Area of Edo State & three others Vs. Ministry of Interior & others, cited by the Lagos State government was actually struck out by Justice Obiozor in his judgment delivered on April 30, 2018.
The Director of Legal , Ministry of Interior , Bola Odugbesan, made the clarification in a statement in Abuja on Friday, in reaction to a press statement on Thursday by the Director , Public Affairs, Lagos State Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, Bisi Olufuwa.
Olufuwa had claimed that the Lagos State had secured a court injunction restraining the Ikoyi registry from conducting marriages .
Dismissing the claims, Odugbesan presented a copy of the judgment by Obiozor who described the case as an abuse of court process and struck it out .
Checks by our correspondent also showed that the Lagos State Government was not a party to the suit .
Clarifying what transpired in the suit , Odugbesan said, “ In the case, the court was invited to interpret the provisions of the Constitution conferring on local governments, the powers to register marriages .
“ The Minister of Interior, through his Counsel , Bola Odugbesan, argued that under item 61 of the Exclusive List , matters connected with marriage under the Marriage Act , issuing of marriage certificate and its registration are outside the purview of state and /or local governments.”
The director further explained , “The Federal High Court in its judgment dated April 30 , 2018 , struck out the case of the Plaintiffs, ie , Egor LGA & Ors . The court held that the case is an abuse of the court process in view of the earlier judgment of the court in 2002 which upheld the sanctity of the rights of the Minister to issue licences to places of worship to conduct marriages , and the Registrar under the Marriage Act to register marriages . It is instructive to note that Lagos State was not a party in the case,”
Odugbesan insisted that the Federal High Court never ordered the closure of Ikoyi Marriage Registry as claimed by Olufuwa.

When I said there would be a final list, someone took me on and called me greedy and bitter. The message alone said final clearance but people took it to be collection of appointment letters. Sadly some would still be dropped even after final clearance

This stage is the final stage, nothing like final list again...issuance of appointment letter is at this stage...ask people who has gone through the process and educate ur self..even at the moment, they have asked them to prepare an application letter to CGI...so get ur fact right before you talk!!

omen, I heard people in Abuja at the moment are close to 1k,just for bsc and hnd alone'and some people where saying they are going to Abuja to collect appointment letter.

It is the final list that will shock everybody. Some who are invited for final clearance might not get the job in the end. Funny that while they wrote final clearance some people said it is call for appointment letters. Only time will tell.

If you get the job without screening or without test, you might be screened out during documentation and all the money you paid to get listed will be in vain

It is not about paying money. Some people have high level connection they do not need to appear in all of these processes. They have all the neccessary qualifications though. You will just see them during training.

Indeed they might have secured the job already. But their are many who neither attend the first screening nor the second but will get the job in the end

What happened to your accounts was system induced - a default command. Your bank could not have contacted you before hand. How many customers will they contact if they start checking all accounts on their system, one by one across all banks. Ko da.

That inflow into your ecobank account triggered the PND (Post No Debit) you're experiencing.

What you should do now is to follow up with the bank that doesn't have your third name and get them to include it. You'll need to present a valid ID that tallies with your full name. You can swear an affidavit to support this claim and submit to your bank. Once this is done, submit to your bank. They'll do the needful and it will be updated. This shouldn't take longer than 2 working days.

After the successful update, you're good to go.

Sorry o my sister, there are some of us who are non-comformists. Why are we always considering things from the perspective of what is convenient for the banks to do. Why not the convenience of the customers. If the banks ever spare a thought for the convenience of the customers they would understand that no extent is too tedious to go to notify a customer before you block them off their own money. Funnily in all the bank branches I have been to non has tried to defend not notifying me by saying they could not have. As a matter of fact they vehemently denied not notifying me and I have been asking for proof that they notified me all to no avail.
Interestingly I have been gentlemanly since all these started last week wednesday. I got just the same advice you gave me here at eco last thursday. I was at gtb last friday throughout to get them to include my omitted name. When they asked me to provide an affidavit I told them that I would only do that if they can prove to me that I did not fill out a third name when opening the account with them(I mean which bank request people to fill just two names when opening an account). The customer care rep stopped attending to me and shifted attention to another person. I picked up my phone and send a mail to some online gtb mail addresses and call gtconnect on monday morning. I did all that in good fate but unknown to me it created problems for the customer care rep. In the end they aceded to my request and low and behold i was correct and gtbank were wrong. So that brings us to a very important point most of the so called mistakes were made by the banks. So why should the banks make customers suffer and put them through so much troubles over problems created by the banks.
Okay so gtb eventually carried out the correction(I did not provide any affidavit or anything just my presence) after one week even though they promised three days like you do.
Now back to eco with their most annoying rude and confused customer rep who i doubt even know what they are doing. After i was told last week i had three names with them and two with gtb which they showed me themselves and advised me over what to do, the same person turn around today to say i have just two names with them. Imagine my confusion. Could i possibly have two names with gtb and eco and have every other information correct in both banks and yet have my account blocked. I made them know they dnt know what they are doing and that they cannot send me on fools errand. I cannot go and pay any N2500 and do any affidavit. I am sure I filled in all my informations correctly when I opened my accounts. If the banks have said I did not the onus of proof is on them.
When they see I would not bulge they lied that network is bad and I should go and come back on monday. I told them they will look for me from monday themselves.
I am already on their matter. All of them CBN, GTB and Eco.
That was how they were telling a woman to go do affidavit or newspaper report of her name being spelt wrongly. She told them that was not how she spelt her name when she filled their forms.

The last ditch effort I made today to get a solution came with a more harrowing experience as in Nigerian banks sucks. I already told them at the eco bank branch where my account is domiciled that i have been on the defensive enough. From next week i am going on the offensive and they should be prepared. I already spoke to my lawyer friend. Eco bank will have to tell us in court what right they have to stop me from withdrawing my own hard earned money, without any prior notice or warning. They have been claiming they did informed me and I have told them to get all their evidences ready. I wont go through any stress any longer over this

That's how they come up with silly bank policy to frustrate their customers, I had to close my Access account cos of Similar issue.
You just have to exercise patience and follow them meticulously, I know it's mot really easy but just be patient. And get all the necessary documents too.

So I have been using my Eco ATM card without itches until last week when several machines refused to pay me. When i stormed inside an Eco branch to complain, I was told that CBN wanted uniformity in all accounts linked to a BVN and my middle name is missing in my gtb account so i either go to gtb and ask them to include a third name or i bring an affidavit carrying only two names to eco so that they can remove the third name. i decided on the gtb option. But ever since it has been come today come tomorrow.
What are the consequences for me. I left my work place even with permission last week friday but spent the whole day inside Gtb. Even though i acheived nothing in the end it landed me into serious punishment at work which i am still serving presently. Someone paid in an amount of money into my eco account to do a job for him. He already had the account number and did not inform me before transferring the money. I could not withdraw the money and so have not been able to do the job. This has brought serious integrity issues for me. The customer has shown understanding but his patience has thinned-out. I have gone borrowing and begging the past week to look after myself and my young family.
Some questions running through mind in all of these are:
Why did i not get a prior advice or warning from the banks through the contacts i provided, to do account update before i was barred from withdrawing my own hard earned money?
Maybe operators of Nigerian banks themselves do not understand the importance of bank accounts to people or how can you just block people off their accounts just like that without any prior information?
I am in a very bad situation now thanks to Eco and gtb.
God will crown your effort both.

Funny how some people think because they have gone for verification and screening, they will automatically get the job. There is a reason why it is called a screening. So if you have attended the screening and verification and yet you did not make the final list please accept your fate and move on. To think that in some states more than 80 people were invited for screening. Do you mean all 80 people would be recruited? I wont be surprised if in some states only five out of theose who attended screening make the list.
All I saying is please if you do not make the list, please accept your fate and move on and hope for better luck next time. Do not go about crying foul and trying to whip up public sympathy so as to spoil the joy for the lucky ones
