You're still wrong! Excursion isn't compulsory, so if you willingly put your life at risk for it, then it's your choice. Since NYSC is mandatory, then some sort of responsibility must be borne by the organization, else, it should be scrapped.

Upon the swearing in of Obasanjo as president and Atiku as the vice of OBJ, ObJ gave so much room to Atiku as his vice. they both run the country concurently.OBJ ran again and defeated Buhari who is in the platform of ANPP.
When it was second term of OBJ in power as the clock ticks for his hand over, he opted to manipulate the constitution to legalise his third term agenda but the move failed woefuly in the senate even when it was rumoured that " Ghana must go" of cash was been thrown at the senate ruthlesly with Mantu as the chair leader of Obasanjo's campaign. Atiku played so much role to making sure OBJ dream never come through because he was nuturing an agenda to run for the office of the president. But OBJ have a second plan wich is to anoint a northerner who he can use as a proxy to rule Nigeria from behind.
He picked Yar' adua and choosed Goodluck Jonathan for him as the flagbearer of pdp in the election. Atiku was getting frustrated as he desperately wanted to rule Nigeria. Being a Chameleon, he decamped to the then ACN with the hope of contesting the election. He picked the ticket and eventualy lost to Yar' adua.By this time Yar' adua came up with a unity government by extending an live branch to ANPP. This weakend the party as there were the only formidable opposition party in Nigeria.
Buhari on his part left the ANPP with a sincere ground vowing not to be part of any fraudaulent government he kept his integrity and honesty intact. So him and his loyalists formed the CPC. On the part of Atiku he later accused OBJ in collaboration with Nuhu Ribadu of technicaly defranchising him. It was the turn for the northerners to rule so everything was normal but the demise of the then President Umar Musa Yar' adua and the swearing in off Goodluck made everything complicated.
The Cameleon Atiku again returned to the pdp hoping he was going to be given the ticket after the expiration of Goodluck's first tenure but Goodluck choosed to run again. Atiku decamped from pdp again and Goodluck later won by defeating General Buhari of the platform of CPC.
In Goodluck's second tenure due to the advice of psycophants even when it was obvious he failed massively as a president_ there was massive coruption, insecurity and ethnic division under his leadership. Eye browse was raised by the masses as Nigerians are already gething fed up with pdp style of leadership. By this time the likes of Tinubu, Bisi Akande and Buhari are already forming a mega party wich include ACN,CPC,APGA all merging together by becoming APC...with the slogan "Change" This made Atiku woried because Goodluck will be given the automatic ticket and so he defected again from PDP to the emerging force of APC thinking he will be given the ticket to run against Goodluck but the convention that handed Buhari the ticket was free and fair as the delegates opted for the integrity and popularity of Buhari rather than Atikus's cash..
Buhari of the opposition APC, historicaly defeated Goodluck of the PDP bringing to an end of 16 years of misrule of PDP. Atiku remained in APC but was disgruntled as he seeks to wrestle the leadership of APC from the hands of Tinubu using diferent tools but failed. He even vowed that " APC will be his last bus stop" but a chameleon will always remain one. There are insinuations from diferent regions that PMB will definately run for second term and he remains the favourite for the APC ticket. Atiku knowing very well he won't stand the chance against Buhari, has decided to return to PDP again where he might get a soft landing. There is no permanent enemy in politics but interest.
Atiku may have shot himself politicaly by leaving the APC as no serious opposition party will see him consistent enough to hand him a ticket to run for the office of the president. And again the northerners see anybody who is against Buhari's interest as an enemy due to his cult support and fan base.
