Its bad how A highly rated bank like FCMB will forcefully impose an electronic product on customers and use same means to debit the customer's money without his authority and consent, yet they have no clear explanation on the where about of my money.

I personally recommended many of my business associates to open accounts in FCMB but they are gradually loosing all of us due to this fraud in the name of mobile banking.

I opened my account 0435630019 with the zaria branch of this bank in 2008. After using the account for Four years, they sent me a message to welcome me to their FCMB Mobile. I never subscribed to the product.

I told my account officer, one mr. Adekoya that i did not ask for the mobile banking and i don't want it. He agreed to delete it.
But the next week, this same product was used to debit my account of 4,001,700 between 4th to 7th of October the same period.

I ran to the bank the next working day which is Monday and reported to the customer service lady and also to the manager. They claim to be investigating but the investigation has neither ended nor returned my money to my account.

The loss has greatly affect ed my business and family. i have tried various appeals to this bank to refund my money but all i have is stories one year running.

I believe this bank should have integrity and the safety of our money should be their responsibility.
Despite their claim to uphold absolute integrity and honour promises, they are yet to fulfill this.

I am sure am not the only victim of this.

Many have been short changed and if care is not taken it will be happening to more people.

I never requested for the Mobile banking. i also found out that one needs a pin number and other details to use it.
I never used any of these but they debited me.
Its only the bank that has access to my account and owe the explanation.

Let me establish some facts (Not a show-off please):
1. I have a wife and 2 kids (Married).
2. I am a freelancer, I'm also working online with an American startup firm (they gave me the liberty to continue with my freelancing).
3. I make from N600k upward on a monthly basis. I made 1M in April.
4. I just acquired a landed property (No land grabber issue).

To start with, my elder brother is in the UK, he advised/invited me to come to the UK with my family using the student route. Meanwhile, he is not aware of my achievements here in Nigeria and he doesn't know where I'm currently working. He assumed I'm still working in my previous place of work (I didn't tell him either).

Personally, I don't like to be a liability nor a burden to anyone and I like to be independent. I know being a postgraduate student in the UK comes with some rules/restrictions such as the number of hours I could work during the programme (perhaps 20hrs max; I'm currently on 35hrs/week with the US firm hoping to increase it to 40hrs).

Now, this is where I need a very honest advice from the good people of Nairaland. Should I go to the UK or stay back in Nigeria with my family?

Take time to gather vital information about getting admission and moving your family over to the UK.
How much it will cost you to rent a house per month even if it is in the outskirts.
Handy skills your wife can put to use for generating income for herself and the family.
If I were to advise you think Ireland, Germany, Norway or Sweden, there are diverse support systems available. It is expensive to live in the UK if you have not got a scholarship except your brother has a house of his.

Someone got a job of 150k in lagos and got and job of 90k in lagos.
The problem now is that the there is no room for increment of salary for the 150k job while for the one of 90k they company increases salary with 3k every year. In addition to the increment the 90k job pays 40k incentive every 3 months

Firstly, I have to say that Nigeria is not an Islamic state neither can it be forced to become one. There is no reason whatsoever for anyone to be beaten, stoned & burnt to death because of religion. The recent gruesome murder of one Deborah Samuel by some extremist muslim rustics should call to the mind of all non-muslims in Nigeria, a sober reflection. These killings have been going on from time to time for over a decade.
