EducationRe: Civil Engineering Vs Chemical Engineering by ayoncox: 8:08am On Jul 28, 2017
I am a graduate of Civil Engineering a third class holder, my best friend is a graduate of Chemical Engineering a first class in fact a record breaker at FUT Minna. In Civil Engineering it is hard to have first and 2:1 not because of the hardness but the mentalitty here that it is hard but in Chemical Engineering you can have at times 3 to 4 and they are often the best in Faculty of Engineering alongside Electrical Engineering. Chemical Engineering courses are highly volatile you can easily forget it so there is great need to either cram or memorize on short term base. But Civil Engineering is highly technical, you must know it you must understand it and must not miss details or else you fail. Most of my woes back at school was my bad hand writing. In Civil there are few Professors across Africa, in Chemical Plenty plent. In my own opinion there are no difference between the two, something links the two of us and that is unemployment. Several Civil Engineering And Chemical Engineering graduates are unemployed most end up becoming teachers.

PoliticsYoruba Becomes Second Official Language After French In Benin Republic by ayoncox(op): 1:05am On Jul 25, 2017
Benin Republic has recognised the Yoruba language as second official language in the country. Nigeria’s Ambassador to Benin, Dr Lawrence Obisakin, who disclosed this , also said that Dendi another indigenous Nigeria Language was also been recognised alongside Yoruba by the Beninoise Government, underscoring the affinity between the two countries. The Nigerian envoy explained that based on the recognition, the Federal Government has recently donated Yoruba Language books to the Government of Benin.

“At the fifth session of Nigeria-Benin Bilateral Joint Commission when you have multi-party, multifarious and inter-ministerial meetings and we were able to sign and renew eight agreements including educational agreements.

“Just a week ago, Nigerian Government gave Yoruba books to the government of Benin to support the recognition of the language.

“We have two languages recognised, Yoruba and Dendi languages have been recognised here as national languages,” he said.

According to him, even the President of Benin said 70 to 80 per cent of the people are of Nigerian origin.

“From the south, you have the Egun, both in Porto Novo and Badagry. When you go northward, you begin to find the Yoruba people.

“You have also the Bariba people; you have the Batonu who we call the Borgu people. You have the Dendi people; you have the people that speak Fulani and Hausa.”

Obisakin also explained that Nigeria and Benin Republic have had so many things in common right from the pre-colonial era. He said that historically, Nigeria and Benin were one and the same people adding, Nigerian empires had governed almost all parts of Benin before the colonial separation.

“Republic of Benin is a country that shares about 778 kilometres of border, and is about the country that has the most densely populated frontiers with Nigeria.

“Benin is a country that has produced the first official border at Idi-Iroko, the country that has the most lucrative border with Nigeria, Seme, where about 6,000 people cross per day.

“If not for the colonial separation, where you are standing now Cotonou use to be part of Oyo Empire and the capital was Oyo-Ile up to the shores of Ghana and the Northern part of this country (Benin) used to be Borgu Empire.

“When I came here, there were only four industries that were exporting but today, there are 28 and more.

“This is one of our negotiations and we thank God for that, a lot has been achieved.”

Do you mean Saraki or Sarathief, the kleptomaniac of my state who still collect salary from the state purse when the pensioners get only 5 to 8 percent of their pension monthly. Do you mean Sarathief that has underdevelop Kwara State. Do you mean Sarathief who with his father buried about 250 people in the entrance of their house. Do you mean Sarathief who is worth 17 trillion Naira. Do you mean Sarathief who God will soon punish for the sins of his father and his own shedding of blood. So Sarathief is like Uhuru Kenyatta... Most Nigerian youths have foolishness in their heart like an untapped oil well...

PoliticsRe: What The Do Not Know About The YORUBA Race by ayoncox(op): 9:26am On Jul 13, 2017
We Yorubas love Igbos because of the Enterprising nature, but out problem with them is Wailing and Victim mentality. We allow you to make money in our land at affordable tax and accommodation but your problem is that you people do not know that no one is actually independent. We live in an interdependent world, we need chinese for their products ,we need Hausas for their food. We Yorubas will not blame anyone for our predicament like igbos do. Instead we will salvage them.
PoliticsWhat The Do Not Know About The YORUBA Race by ayoncox(op): 8:47am On Jul 13, 2017
What they do not know about Yorubas as a lineage:
Often times from times immemorial the Yoruba race to which I belong have principled centered value system, we are essentially culture based no wonder many countries in Europe are adding Yoruba as a course for their basic schools, Norway, Sweden,Finland and Denmark most epecially. The owner of the largest waste recycling company in USA is a Yoruba man, a major strategist, think thank and Strategist in Donald Trumps government is a Yoruba man. Top Administrators in Northern Nigeria, Southern Africa and Eastern Africa are Yoruba. Yorubas have the highest number of graduates and Entrepreneurs in Nigeria and West Africa. So what makes Yorubas special:
1. Wisdom belongs to the Yorubas they allow others come and develop their lands like UK, Dubai and others to collect their tax.
2. They are taught and trained to be respectful
3. Yorubas have powerful life impacting ideologies like think before you talk or act, think and prepare for tomorrow, be open to others but do not trust them totally, never be in a haste.
4. Yorubas due to their development from cradle are strategic about everthing. Yorubas are orderly and urban in nature even as far as early 1200s.
5. Many claim that Igbos have travelled round the world but from my own reasearch I have come to realize that Yorubas are more spread across the entire globe than Igbos as claim, the only difference is that Yorubas go outside their locations to impact their intellectual prowess on their visiting nations.
6. If a Yoruba man is a scammer or 419er fear him because he will sweep you off with his intellect. I was once told about a Yoruba 419 that can speak pure swahili without leaving lagos no learning it. All that matters to Yorubas is professionalism.
7. Not all Yorubas are business oriented, but those that are more interested in business do better than the Igbos.
8. There are clans of the Yoruba lineage that are very crazy about business, The Igbominas from Kwara and Osun are often into construction business. Business minded individuals from that Region includes David Oyedepo, Doyin Agbamu among others.
9. The Ijebus are also intelligent in the business line, but they are great in leadership. I know you will not forget Obafemi Awolowo, Olusegun Obasanjo, Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, Yemi Osinbajo among others.
10. The Ijebus, Yewas and Egbas of Ogun State are also great intellectuals alongside Oyo, Ekiti,Osun, Ondo State.
11. Ondo, Lagos and Ogun all have petroleum in high quantity but we have decided to leave it untap for future purpose.
12. All Yrouba states are rich in solid minerals like their counterparts in the North.
13. In the Nearest future perhaps Nigeria becomes seperated or Restructured. Yoruba Region will become the Japan and Dubai of africa. Even if that does not ahappen we the youths are already working on that.

I drop my pen...

This is going to be my first post on Nairaland after many years of being a member. I desire that everyone of us read the book written by Sheik Mahmoud Ibn Al Mhaktoum 'My Vision' then you will understand where they are coming from and where they are going to. The ideology of the Arabian is summarized in one word which is pioneering. So what is the one word that can summarize our progressive vision? That is the question.
