The Original Post suggested that trump had little or nothing to do with the 1 million jobs created since he took office. An easily disputable lie. Even weeks before his inauguration he had already negotiated over 20 thousand jobs, he was even in talks with softbank which pledged billions in new investments in america. He threaten companies leaving the US with tariffs and higher taxes , he also named and shamed them, which led to many of them cancelling their plans to relocate.
He pledged to remove obamacare fines/taxes which was a burden to small businesses, he removed unnecessary obama era regulations, he pledged to reduce cooprate tax from 30 to 15 percent all of which had the intended side effect to building business confidence in the US and encourage new investments. that is why 1 million new jobs suddenly appeared in 7 months which beat all economic forecasts.


by the way obama simply gave the auto industry billions in bail out funds which made america go further into debt. it saved further job losses and did not necessarily create significant number of new jobs. it appears you dont know much of what you are saying.

The two biggest dams in the country are in the North. Sending to the national grid was partly to favor the South. Hydro generation is the cheapest so historically, part of the reason why everybody sends to the national grid was to even out the cost.

I'll give another example... Last year lets say toyota land cruisers cost N20,000,000, and toyota made a profit of N2,000,000 per car in Nigeria.

Now this year they cost N35,000,000 , toyota is still making the same profit of N2,000,000.

Assume they sell only 10 this year.. Can toyota Nigeria now come and say HEY GUYS, our yearly revenue went from N200M to N350M.. We are now rich!!! haha.lol

In business you could be generating billions of naira and still operating at a loss..

I live in Nigeria but work for a foreign company, my salary a month is 3k USD, when the exchange was above N400 i was making about 2M monthly, now that the exchange rate has dropped to N360 i make less than 2M monthly, would you say my salary was reduced?

Customs revenue are technically in dollars as most trades require Form M......so all the revenue accruing to custom are relative to dollars exchange rate.....So Reno is right. In real terms, the revenue has reduced.

Most imports are denominated in Dollars. They are converted to Naira using a rate of USD/Naira. It is this increase rate from 201/USD to 315/USD that have increased this revenue claimed by NCS.

In actual terms, there is simply no increase but a decrease.

Reno just echoed the same thing I said in the first thread about this phantom increased revenue.

You can say the value did not increase and you will be right but in Naira terms the revenue for this was greater than what customs have ever generated.
