vedaxcool: This are not petty procedural issues... the investigation is faulty and cannot be relied upon to indict anybody. You failed to invite the parties involved to even question them and know the extent to which they are culpable by laying the facts of your case before them yet you quickly label them corrupt afterwards. I personally don't have favorable disposition towards that babachair guy but it doesn't mean such poorly investigated case should be used in nailing his coffin. I have always told people who cared to listen that by failing to invite him to their public hearing they succeeded in wasting their time. Did you miss the part were it was stated that a letter was sent to the SFG and also that advert in the news paper? Did you also miss the part were Dasuki was arrested based on an interim report also? If that is good enough to arrest Dasuki, it should be good enough for Lawal. |

Funnicator: Why didn't ecowas do to Nigeria what they did to the Gambia after IBB refused to concede defeat to abiola 1) IBB did not contest so there's no way he could have conceded. 2) In 1993, there was no AU. 3) After the annulment, IBB stepped aside. 4) Nigeria is Ecowas . |

The chairman and members of the Board, other than ex-officio members, shall- (a) be appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Minister That is the act creating the NPA
the commission shall consist of seven full time commissioners appointed by the President subject to confirmation by the senate
This is from the NERC act. Can you spot the difference when it comes appointment?
Also a commissioner cannot be removed without a simple majority of the senate. |

Check parent agency. From Wikipedia? Seriously? Check preceding agency and tell me if NERC and NEPA are the same. You should read the act creating NERC

bishopkay: Nigeria is a lawless country; reason why things as you said up there happens. That the minister doesn't wield the big stick on erring companies doesn't mean he can't. So Mr.. .who runs oversight on NERC If NERC isn't under the ministry of Power. Please educate me "The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is an independent regulatory agency which was inuagurated on 31st October 2005 as provided in the Electric Power Sector Reform Act 2005. The Commission is mandated to carry out: The monitoring and regulation of the electricity industry Issuance of licences to market participants, and Ensure compliance with market rules and operating guidelines." |
Politics › Re: Power Sector Crisis: Fashola Admits Failure by AZeD1(m): 9:03pm On Jan 20, 2017 |
bishopkay: Who do you think runs oversight on NERC? Fashola has the responsibility as the minister of darkness...sorry ehm... Minister of power to ensure the gencos produce enough power, the transmission gives to distribution and that distribution doesn't dump load. He also reserves the power to sanction any erring bodies. He can be likened to the cbn governor for power.
So look for another excuse please. This one just got busted. Minister power == Minister of Finance NERC == CBN. If a Genco doesn't produce anything, what will Fashola do? Fire the CEO? Besides NERC is not under the ministry of Power. Small info to ignoramuses like you. AES has not generated 1MW for close to a year or even more than because Sahara Energy refused to give them gas. When Egbin was owned by the government, the minister could issue a directive and it would be done, but now it's in private hands, all the minister can do beg and nothing more. So about 200MW is not generated because Sahara is trying to buy a company that doesn't want to sell. |

Politics › Re: Power Sector Crisis: Fashola Admits Failure by AZeD1(m): 3:56pm On Jan 20, 2017 |
idupaul: So how many extra MW HAS Fashola added to transmission ...the answer is zero, on six months Barth Nnaji added about 2000 Mws to the grid Barth Nnaji added nada...... You can't build a power plant in 6 months so were did Barth Nnaji get the 2k MW he added? Its not Fashola's job anymore to add MW's, that's for private investors and that side is controlled by NERC. |
Politics › Re: Power Sector Crisis: Fashola Admits Failure by AZeD1(m): 2:53pm On Jan 20, 2017 |
idupaul: Now he will appreciate Barth Nnaji Not really.. During Barth Nnaji's time, the minister was in charge of generation, transmission and distribution, Right now, Fashola is in charge of Transmission only and that has been out sourced. Right now, Nigeria doesn't need a minister of power. |
Politics › Re: Total Blackout As Power Generation Falls To 0 MW by AZeD1(m): 10:40am On Jan 20, 2017 |
Themandator: It is not only gas that is used to generate power in Nigeria .....there is coal powered plant and kainji dam is water driven not gas and the report say they all failed System collapse has nothing to do with the mode of power generation. A system collapse happens when a failure in the system forces other power plants to shut down in order to protect their equipment. |

Afam4eva: It's not really abut Jonathan but about Nigeria. Would a military incursion be taken if a Nigerian president refuses to step down? Like, who will dare? Are they trying to take down Jammeh because they geel that "The Gambia" is a very small country? What possible scenarios would have played out if Jonathan had towed the path of Yahya Jammeh for example. The UN would have removed him. At the time of the election, A US warship was stationed in Ghana. If violence broke out, they would intervene just like they did in Libya. |
