Politics › Re: TCN New MD Suspends Payments, Contracts, Purchase Orders by AZeD1(m): 5:12pm On Feb 07, 2017 |
Guyman02: The workers are protesting that an Accountant (Mr Usman Mohammed) who has never worked in the Power Sector should not be appointed to take over from a certified PhD Engineering practitioner (Dr. Abubakar Atiku) in such an important parastatal like TCN. Putting square pegs in round holes is one key reasons the country is dormant. 1) Mr Usman worked in TCN before moving to ADB 2) MD of TCN is an administrative role not a technical one. The head of IMF is a Lawyer, the president of the World bank is a Medical doctor. Learn to differentiate between technical and administrative roles. |

Politics › Re: TCN New MD Suspends Payments, Contracts, Purchase Orders by AZeD1(m): 4:58pm On Feb 07, 2017 |
SalamRushdie: Another Buharistic type leadership based on all brawn and no brains , watch as this sensationalist will bring TCN to its knees in the coming weeks ..He suspended all purchases orders including genuine and critical ones needed in time to improve power supply ..A good leader will take his time and study the orders to know which is strategic to the timely success but a Buharist will show up tense the whole industry up by announcing a blanket suspension of orders which will in turn tense up creditors to TCN vendors and make things worse If you can read, you'd see that the suspension of payments was for a week. |

Untainted007: Hmmmmm, I hope it's not too late to correct this. When Unilorin was setting the standard then, people were saying it's a secondary school, but today, Unilorin has achieved proper dressing code to an encouraging standard. But in Unilag, its already part of the students' way of life, now they want to do the necessary. Let's wait and see if they will adhere. I'm always proud to be a product of UNILORIN. And what has Unilorin added to the advancement of science in Nigeria(Lets leave the world for now?). |
Politics › Re: Why We Sacked TCN MD – Fashola by AZeD1(m): 8:25am On Feb 07, 2017 |
Drversatile: Removing an Engineer and putting someone from finical house as MD of TCN. And Nigerians will expect improvement in power? I weep for my country The work of the MD is administrative not technical. Dangote owns Cement factories but he isn't an Engineer. You don't have to be a Doctor to own a hospital, you don't have to be a doctor to head a hospital. |
Career › Re: ‘government Must Intervene To Resolve Job Loss In Banking Industry’ by AZeD1(m): 8:08am On Feb 06, 2017 |
I support the TSA 100%. The banks get free money from the government and rather than use the money to help small business via loans and grants, they use it for trading forex and the likes.
Let the banks start doing real banking, if smes grow, the banks would naturally grow. |

He should fire the SGF or the so called anti corruption war becomes a ruse |

If someone says he doesn't want you in his country, you should do back to your country Trump should lead the way, he's wife is an immigrant, he's grandfather was an immigrant. By the way, number of Americans killed in the US by people from Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Somalia, Libya, Sudan is 0 On the other hand, Saudis weren't banned. The Muslim capital of the world..... freeze001: Mr Daftus is as tribalist and bitterly vengeful as Trump is supposedly racist n bitter. In fact there is no basis for comparison between both; How dovish compare a dull weakling who has only fed off the government all his life to one who is a multi-billionaire in his own right? Buhari fed off the government, Trump fed off his father. No sensible person can bankrupt 6 different business. Trump is the first man to run a casino at a loss. Unbelievable. |

Very amateurish , childish thinking. Let me confuse you more -these two are intelligent, astute, knowledgeable, efficient, institutions-savvy ....but they will both FAIL as President and VP of Nigeria.
We had this kind of line-up during ING, Abacha and Diya removed them within 11 months and they actually 'redigned' their administration to them. The failure will be so bad, it will take years to explain how it happened. |

989900: Yes, I agree, but the people have had too much already.
Comparatively, tariff in 9ja is one of the cheapest I know of, but let the providers find a way to shoot first.
There are no guarantees there will be improvement in service even when they increase tariff.
MTN or Glo for example can't ask us to pay for non-existent service; not to mention increasing tariff.
The truth is most of the guys who bought the power firms didn't know what they were getting into. They thought it was going to be smooth sailing. Another issue is selfishness. They (the power firms) can raise money by selling equity to capable companies. Raising tariffs is the way out. |
