Jazkumullahu khairan. Exactly the reply i wanted to say, but i didnt have enough depth in knowledge to post such a good reply with proof in Quran. Indeed we have to obey Allah's words which is the Quran; and Allah says in the Quran to obey our Messenger(saw). The Messenger(saw) taught us what Allah has revealed to him and the Messenger's(saw) teachings have been compiled as Hadith. |
ifyalways:No Ify you cant. As i mentioned during periods one is in a state of impurity so you cant pray alone either. I hope you get the idea now. You understood that you cant perform wudu during periods. Without wudu you cannot perform salaah. Simple ; ) If you have more doubts in this matter please feel free to ask. It is a very important topic. I hope you understood what is ghusl too. Post as many queries as you can, so we will be able to be specific while answering. |
Anas (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Everything has a heart, and the heart of the Qur’an is 'Yasin'. Allah (SWT) records anyone who recites 'Yasin' as having recited the Qur’an ten times.” [Sunan Tirmidhi, Vol 2, Page 116 - Sunan Daarimi, Vol 2, Page 336] |
@Javalove You might have seen the the thread 'Muslims: What Did You Learn In Islam Recently?' https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-16387.0.html Thats the thread which made me rejuvenate my imaan. I learnt some of those things when i was younger. But I was too busy 'enjoying' my life. But when I stumbled across this thread and read some of those posts, it was a reality check. Some conversations aside, most of that thread is really good. Try to go through all the informative posts. Its very nice. P.s. I ve sent you a video of recitation of Suratul Yaseen to your email. Hope you dont mind : ) |
@ogaga bro no offense, u really a satan worshipper, ? |
ifyalways:During periods a woman is in a state of impurity. It is not proper to offer Salat(at mosque, at home, fard or sunnath) during that time (even after ghusl or wudu). The periods are usually 3 to 10 days. Compensatory prayer for Fard(obligatory) prayer is not need for the that period (3-10days)of menses. Once the periods have stopped one can offer Salat but only after doing ghusl(bath) and wudu(ablution). |
javalove:Go Ahead bro, Delete em, ; ) I too Had Gbs of music, Ipod n everything. I used listen to music in every genre. But I deleted all of em. Alhamdulillah. |
ifyalways:Walaikum Salaam, Yes its haram for anyone to do Salat without ablution(wudu)!! I hope you have someone to show you how to do wudu correctly. I will give you and idea how it is done: 1) Niyat (intention) : You have to think in heart that- 'I am going to do wudu inorder to clean my impurities'. Without niyat wudu is not complete and without wudu Salath is not accepted. 2) Say: Bismillahi rahmanir raheem. 3) Wash your hands till your wrists - 3 times (always begin with right) 4) Wash your mouth - 3 times 5) Wash your face: Forehead to chin and ear to ear - 3 times 6) Wash the forearms (right forearm first) up to the elbows - 3 times (ie right forearm 3 times, then left forearm 3 times) 7) Wet your fingers and then wipe the head. - 3 times Wet your fingers and then clean your ears as follows: Put the index fingers in the ear and pass the thumbs behind the ear from down to top -3 times9) Wash the feet (right foot first) up to the ankles making sure that no parts of the feat are left dry, especially between the toes. - 3 times End of Wudu say the following dua: "Ash hadu an lailaha illal lahu wah dahu la shareeka lahu wa ash hadu an-na Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluhu". (Muslim) meaning: I testify that there is no deity except Allah alone. And I testify that Muhammad(saw) is His servant and messenger." Important note: Wudu SHOULD be done in the above mentioned ORDER or else it ll be just washing up. Also i thought i will mention What all things will break the wudu. 1)Passing urine. 2)Passing wind or stool through anus. 3)Contact with najas(impurity) such as: Dropping(stool) of any living thing, Blood, Alchohol, Pig, dog. 4)Sleeping, state of unconsiousness. You cannot do salath while you have your periods(menses). When periods is over it is necessary to do Ghusl(bath). Ghusl is also necessary after sexual intercourse. For Ghusl also you have to keep intention(niyat) and the while we bath we should make sure that water touches all the parts of the body. Before salath keep in mind the following things: 1) That you are free from big impurities, That is make sure you have done Ghusl after sexual intercourse, periods. 2) Also that you are free from minor impurites. Make sure you have not done anything to break Wudu(passing urine, wind etc), If your wudu is broken it is necessary that you have to take wudu before salath. I hope that will help you. If you ve doubts please ask. Others please add if i have forgotten something. May Allah allow you and all of us to practice Islam in the way it is supposed to be done. Ameen |
Ameen! |
!!! I too ve been drawn into fights on forums. Remember nothing can be gained with rude language and finger pointing. I m sure all of your intentions were good initially, but if a person reads this page for the first time i am sure he WILL NOT look at the earlier pages of this thread. He would certainly miss a good thing. You cant deny the fact that you ve hurt each other. Maybe you should delete all the unwanted posts if you dont mind. P.s. no one i repeat NO ONE is free from sins (ofcourse excluding the prophets). We all succumb to temptations. But Allah's Mercy is unmeasurable. May Allah stop us muslims from fighting each other. Ameen. Hadith - Bukhari's Book of Manners #313, Ahmad, Ibn Hibban, and Hakim , 'Abd Allah reported that the Prophet of Allah, upon him be peace, said, "A believer is not a fault-finder and is not abusive, obscene, or course." Hadith - Bukhari's Book of Manners #329 , Ibn 'Abbas said, "If you wish to mention the faults of your friend, mention your own faults first." Hadith - Bukhari's Book of Manners #330 , Ibn 'Abbas said on the following verse of the Qur'an, "Nor defame one another" (49:11), "Do not spend your time finding fault with one another." Hadith - Bukhari's Book of Manners #308 and Bayhaqi , 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr reported that the Prophet of Allah, upon him be peace, used very often to pray in the following manner, "O Allah! I ask You for good health, for trust, for self-control, for good manners, and to be satisfied with the divine decree." Ameen |
mukina2:Yes wudu and ghusl will not be correct as long as you have nail polish. Its better to avoid it, unless you are willing to remove and repaint 5 times a day (ie before each wudu). |
Nobody hates anyone. But certainly there is a misunderstanding. : ) But remember First someone starts bothering us, we ignore. Second time it leads to Displeasure. Then Displeasure leads to Dislike, then somewhere in between we start gettin Angry and before we know it, its Hatred. Iblees loves to sow misunderstanding between Muslims. May Allah save us from such Fitna and give us good character. Ameen. |
The prophet (SAW) said: 'There is no believing servant who supplicates for his brother in his absence where the angels do not say,"the same be for you'' [Muslim] |
Yahya related to me from Malik that Yahya ibn Said said that he heard Said ibn al-Musayyab say, "Shall I tell you what is better than much prayer and sadaqa?" They said, "Yes." He said, "Mending discord. And beware of hatred - it strips you (of your deen)." [Malik :: Book 47 : Hadith 47.1.7] |
mukina2:Hmmm, complete muslim, I wonder if anybody worthy to be called that exists now. |
chyz:Yes, most of them are intelligent enough to resist such traps. Have a nice day. |
Wa alaikumusalam warahmathullahi wabarakathuhu. Eid Mubarak bro. The problems you are facing is faced by most of us. : ( javalove:I used to have the same problem. But now I am not going for work so I am able to pray regularly. Do you ve a room in your work place where you ll be able to pray or a mosque nearby, ? Abu Hurairahu (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying, "Say, if there were a river at the door of one of you in which he takes a bath five times a day, would any soiling remain on him?'' They replied, "No soiling would left on him.'' He (PBUH) said, '' That is the five (obligatory) Salat (prayers). Allah obliterates all sins as a result of performing them.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. 2. Can someone's love for music or poetry affect his level of Iman? (I'm madly in love with poetry)I have not heard anything against poetry. (correct me if i am wrong) But music really effects you badly. It really decreases the level of Imaan. I used to listen to a lot of music, but now i try my maximum not to listen to it. I ve kicked the habit of listening to it all the time. It really has helped me in my Imaan. Hadith - Sunan of Abu Dawood, #4909, Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud Salam ibn Miskin, quoting an old man who witnessed AbuWa'il in a wedding feast, said: They began to play, amuse and sing. He united the support of his hand round his knees that were drawn up, and said: I heard Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud) say: I heard the apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) say: Singing produces hypocrisy in the heart. 3. Does being the only muslim amongst friends affect Iman level?Yes it does. While i was in college i used to be in gang of friends which were mostly non-muslims. They succeeded in involving me in many bad activities. They Almost made me drink alcohol, But i was saved by Allah. Now i ve more Muslim friends and I have been able to discard the unwanted habits i had in college. In an authentic Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (saws) said: “A person is likely to follow the faith of his friend, so look whom you befriend.” Abu Dawood and at-Tirmithi 4. Generally, what is the best way for a muslim to remain steadfast and maintain a constant relationship with Allah?Ibadah and Imaan are two sides of the same coin. Doing more Ibadah increases our Imaan and more Imaan we have more Ibadah we do. Few things that have helped me: 1. Reading the translation of Quran, and reading a lot of hadith. 2. Lots of Dikhr. When you are travelling alone. After salath. 3. Say Audhubillahi minashaiytani rrageem, Bismillahir rehmaanir raheem Before you do anything nice. Eg: going out of the house, while entering the house, before eating. 4. Byheart 'Ayatul Kursi', recite it while going out of house, when you feel you are troubled by shaitaan. 5. Before going to sleep recite Suratul Fathiha, Ikhlass, Falaq and Nas, Then Ayathul Kursi. 6. Try reciting Suratul Yaseen daily. Takes only 10mins. Once it becomes a habit you will definitely feel like reciting Quran more frequently. Try reciting it after Fajr prayer, its the time when you are never busy. Always remember we live in this world only for a few years, But the life after that is eternal. Never underestimate the Mercy of Allah. May Allah forgive us all and guide us in the right path. Ameen. |
Eid Mubarak |

@babs good to see you back. |
Aishah (RA), the mother of the believers, quoted the Prophet (SAW) as saying: “The two rak`ah before Dawn (Fajr) Prayer are better than the word and all that which it contains.” [Muslim] The mother of the believers, Umm Habibah Ramilah bint Abu Sufyan (RA) narrated that she heard the Prophet (SAW) saying: “A house will be built in Paradise for every Muslim who offers twelve units of Prayers other than the obligatory ones in day and night, to seek pleasure of ALLAH.” [Muslim] |
juman: It is narrated in Tafseer Al-Burhaan that the Holy Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w.) has said that when a person recites "Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem" then five thousand ruby palaces are built for him in Jannah Each palace has a thousand chambers made of pearls and in each chamber has seventy thousand thrones of emerald and each throne has seventy thousand carpets made from special fabrics and upon each carpet is seated a Hur-ul-Ein. A person asked for the condition necessary to get this great reward and the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) replied that the person should recite the "Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem" with conviction and understanding. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) has also said that when a believer will have to cross the Pul-e-Siraat on the Day of Judgement, and he will say "Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem" then the flames beneath him will start dying down until Jahannam will cry out, 'O believer, pass through quickly, your presence is causing my fire to die out ! When a teacher teaches a child to recite "Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem"the child, his parents and the teacher are all guaranteed freedom from hellfire. It is narrated that Prophet Isa (a.s.) was once passing by a graveyard and he saw a grave upon which the Wrath and Punishment of Allah (s.w.t.) was descending, so he quietly walked past. When he passed the same place after some time, he noticed that the Mercy and Blessings of Allah (s.w.t.) was being showered on the same grave. He was surprised at this and asked Allah (s.w.t.) about what has happened and it was revealed to him that the man inside the grave was a sinner and was thus being punished for his sins. When he died, his wife was pregnant and soon gave birth to a son. When the boy grew older, his mother took him to a teacher who taught him to recite "Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem" and I felt that it would not be justice that this man's son was calling My Name and I was punishing his father in the grave. |

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: “Every righteous child who casts a look of mercy and affection upon his parents shall be granted, for every look of his, rewards equivalent to that of an accepted Hajj.” Those around the Prophet questioned: “O’ Prophet of Allah! Even if he were to look at them a hundred times a day?” The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) replied: “Indeed! Allah is the Greatest and Most Kind.” Biharul Anwar, Volume 74, Page 73 |
Jazzifed:@Jazzifed Here is a thread started by ifyalways, she also had genuine questions about Islam. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-359506.0.html P.s. The thread is a bit long, but take your time to read it. The best part of it is its mostly a dialogue between two people. (some attempts to derail the thread ve been made, ignore that). Insha Allah may Allah guide you to the right path. Ameen. |
juman:Mine too. As a scholar once said it describes Allah (swt) the best. Say "He is Allah, the Only One. Allah, The Eternal, Absolute[As-Samad]. He neither begets (gives birth to), nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent.” [Surah Ikhlas] Some time back i had posted a thread on this Surah: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-520263.0.html |
My father passed away last year. May Allah give him Jannah. Ameen. @lagosboy give full emotional support to your mother, she will be the one who is most effected. chakula:Inshallah, Me too want to go for hajj with my mother. |
Abu Usaid Saidi said: We were once sitting with Rasulullah (saw)when a man from the tribe of Salmah came and said to him: O Messenger of Allah! do my parents have rights over me even after they have died? And Rasulullah (saw) said: Yes. You must pray to Allah to bless them with His Forgiveness and Mercy, fulfill the promises they made to anyone, and respect their relations and their friends. (Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah). |
AbuHanifa:Very true. I didnt know about this all these years. The month of Dhul Hijjah has started. Lets try to our best. May Allah forgive all our sins, Ameen. |
