Mine has been from strength to strength
Got born again at a very young age
Did not know so much,so made a lot of mistakes
But god had a purpose for my life
He set me on the course I must follow
Everyday I fulfil his plan for my life because he has set me in a place where I cannot but touch more lives

I got married in 2009, in 2010 two weeks to my due date precisely on the 5th of April after a great service in church I went home,ate very well and slept off around 8:00pm,I woke up around 11:00pm and felt some slight pain in my back,called my pastor and he prayed for me after which I went back to sleep,the next time I woke up,the first thing I heard was congratulations you have a baby boy,
The next day when I heard what really happened the only thing I could say was God is faithful
My son is the healthiest child I have ever known,he is a godly seed,and loved by everyone.
God is indeed faithful

And I will continually seek to pease him,
This walk so far have been great

1.A pastor is one called into the office of a pastor and anointed for it
It is not a title ,it is being called into an office with a job description

2.A Pastor is a gift to the body of christ

i strongly disagree with your submissions concerning this issue. You are not with the man and therefore dont know exactly what his issues are. He never said he will not return to his ministry as a Pastor, all he wants to do is to take time out of the big scene probably do some self examination and evaluation and then return. He needs to check his spirit to determine if pride and arrogance has not set in. The fact that he doesnt preach on sundays doesnt mean he is not fulfilling his calling. Is it better for him to stay in church, preach and carry on as if everything is ok when exactly it is not or should he miss the mark after pleasing people. You need to understand that he is first accountable to God for his personal spiritual life and if he is not up to par, preaching and winning a million souls will not guarantee him a ticket to heaven. I t is clearly stated in 2 corithians 13:5 which states:
"Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith, "
I am certain this man must have spoken to God and given the go-ahead by God before taking this decision

What big scene are we talking about here
Is it a big scene of telling a million people about jesus
I still insist that in ministry we don't take time off
I wonder what would have happened if after looking at the cross Jesus decided to take time off what life would have been like
If there was any challenge all he should have done was to seek godly counsel

My pastor used to be very shy in front of people to the point when even during his birthday while we sang happy birthday for him it was obvious he was not comfortable,this went on for quite some time but thank god he did not run away or take time off I wonder, where I would be today

U know while reading this I thought to myself,
Can anyone choose when to go on leave in the ministry?
I don't think so
It's high time we recognise that as Christians you did not call yourself and so you don't take decisions on your own,you can't wake up in the  morning and decide to put the ministry on hold
If he had a challenge and believed himself to have become more famous than the holy ghost (highly unbelievable)among his congregation he should have sought for spiritual help

Paul was very famous
But he did not run away neither did he take a break infact most of the books in the new testament were authored by him
Come to think of it  this thread made me know about francis chan I do not think he is more famous than Paul
You can't be a pastor today and decide tomorrow to do another thing,at this point you are no longer your own
That is if he has a calling

This is the obvious outcome of getting filled with the spirit

What exactly is your point,are you saying that God determines if we become successful or not in life ?

I know of someone who harboured so much bitterness and unforgiveness in her heart, thereby giving rooms to demons.
Unforgiveness creates a big space for the devil and so should not be harboured
Instead of piling up matters in your heart you can confront someone who has wronged you in love
Love believes in people and gives them a second chance

People claim that their God owns everything and needs nothing yet when you read the bible(OT especially) you will see Yahweh directing people to offer things unto him, things like human and animal sacrifice, farm produce etc and getting very upset if they refuse to obey his injunctions. Why does a God that is said to own everything and need nothing command people to give him things?. . . . .All this injunction from the bible God to give unto him sounds like the words of the needy rather than of the laudable self-sufficient one, no?. . . . .Why does a God that is alleged to own everything and in need of nothing need animal sacrifice for example?. . . .

The God we serve is highly principled,and giving is a law at work,he demonstrated his love for us when he gave us his son
