This new Nairaland is somehow oh I just noticed that I can't just jump down the page without reading cross mans post except I start scrolling down which is very long Chineke
omobadan: My brother, the Pastor took your babe and you didn't get the hell out of that place? Na u be the strong man o! Anyway, it's always baffling when you see Pastors' wives becoming Reverend Mrs automatically. Like someone said, it's now a 'family business'.
Read carefully pls 1- it's not his pastor who is involved 2- before yup judge a matter you hear from both sides
Nepiotic nepios When you see the truth you only resort to childish talk Yes or no if Abraham had thought like you during his time asking if Isaac was the right type of sacrifice watt would have become of him today
Just watched this video of a Naija pastor telling a congregation in Ghana that God spoke to him that the offering must be in Dollars. I was wondering if God prefers one currency to another. Obviously, the currency is Ghana Cedis in the land, why would God require a currency that is not used in the country, and ask for a currency used thousands of miles away. Abi God dey run forex for heaven? Is this biblical or is this man running a hustle on this people? [flash=400,400] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymBzhmaou7U[/flash]
So what? Is it that this is impossible for god to ask for Am sure if Abraham thought like you when he was asked to slaughter Isaac, his story today would have been different
diluminati: whats the point of this ms. joagbaje? are you afraid of whats coming next? abi you know one of the anti christ pastors we are talking about?
naturaltee: D truth is that dey ll neva force u to bring d money but dey ll so brainwash u into believing dt d seed has d sole power of blessing u or healing u if u r sick or dt it ll provide u dt wch u nid frm God
Luke 6:38 38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
dagboss: My boss is fond of saying each time he sowed a seed he got something in return. Each time he said it I always kept sealed lips but within me I used to laugh in Esperanto, saying this big man na big maga o. Me I do not sow nada, but God has been blessing me, chike nna
See what you are missing If only you can see you will know that your current level is not where you ought to be, Am sorry to say if you keep on like this you ll keep laughing whilst your boss keeps on soaring This is one reason why he still is your boss and you the surbordinate
And of course Paula White's 'first fruit' offering which basically states: Sow the first fruit to God, and January represent the 1st month, and your salary in January represents your first fruit, therefore sow your entire January salary to God as a 'first fruit' offering, so that God will bless the rest of the year! haba, doesn't she except that people have rents, mortgages and bills to pay in January as well? or she just does not care? And people still fall for thse scams
What do you think jesus was doing when he observed the widow give all she has, and did not tell her to take it back, or what do you think the prophet eas doing when he allowed the widow of zarephath to prepare all she had and adtill feed him after she had told him it was all she had left, how come he did not tell her not to bother giving him to eat?
Our offerings are all based on a principle, not on our feelings
davidylan: 1. yes 2. yes Answer to question earlier in your quote - yes.
Givers don't criticise other givers If u were under a pastor you will not speak wrongly of men of god, but rather ask your pastor intelligent questions when you have questions If u have been involved in evangelism you would have known that it cost a lot
See if you want to remain poor,it's not a problem it's your choice, stop blabbing trash , you need to be more enlightened. But you have refused knowledge
Joagbaje: The scripture you quoted is wrongly applied here. So did Jesus sell all? . How come he didn't allow them to sell the perfume? Expensive perfume? How did Jesus feed, and housed himself? You are busy talking about what someone else' should do with what he has ,I asked you a question. Do you give? Have you sold all ? According to you. You should not read the bible criticise another person. You rather should study it to do it.
This question has been left unanswered Let's add to it @ davidylan 1- do you have a pastor 2- do you participate in evangelism
crossman9: You are sent from God these posts will help fight the people who defend evil on here like Christ embassy members and many more deluded people who love deception
Interesting The guy write long posts like you Re you sure you are not him
davidylan: apples to oranges. It is 100% to the benefit of the child that he/she is forced to eat. However what is the benefit of forcing the laity to buy meaningless books at exhorbitant prices? Do they understand the psuedo-psychology masquerading as "spiritual" truths in the book? why is the pastor ALONE reaping the pecuniary benefits of this?
Proverbs 22:6 6 Point your kids in the right direction-- when they're old they won't be lost.
davidylan: yawn. such predictable nonsense. running from which "facts" exactly? That your pastors are basically ignoring unfished waters to continue struggling in over-fished waters solely because of the pecuniary benefits? Exactly why do you think Lagos and Abuja shld be subjected to 20 "crusades" a week basically targetting the same people while the remote villages in Yobe state remain unreached? Are they not worthy of a crusade too? Or is it because they have no money to dash the church so it can buy its next fancy private aircraft? Why do you have churches with banks within their premises while missionaries basically starve to death trying to preach to the real lost?
Why do we need more programs on the air in the exact locations that already have over 5 churches per mile? What of those who dont even have the money to afford a TV? They are undeserving of the gospel?
Repitition is the law of deep and lasting impression, we ll keep on showing these programs and having these crusades Why not take a walk into the interior villages in yobe it will shock you to find out that there are Christians there spreading the word Wake up whether u like it or not this gospel is being preached, but two questions remain unanswered 1. Do you go on personal evangelism 2. Do you have a pastor
@ davidylan Stop running from facts Are you saying these crusades are not affecting lives And yes you are surely not involved in evangelism you would have notices churches ,fellowships and outreaches even in interior villages And yes we need more programs on air so that people like you will not say you did not have the opportunity of hearing the gospel
There's peace in this nation in every nook and cranny The educational sector is getting better Everyone has access to the gospel Our leaders are operating with the wisdom of god in the affairs of the country Prosperity abounds to us
davidylan: the gospel is both free and cheap. Its just that your "men of gawd" would rather set up shop in a congested Lagos and Abuja because their goal isnt to reach others for Christ as much as it is to maximise profit. It wont cost you anything to go preach in villages where the gospel has not penetrated.
It's obvious you are far from being a Christian Yes the gospel is free for all men but definitely not cheap Do you want to calculate what it takes to organise crusades, and programs or even how much it takes to pay for airtime both locally and internationally. Also how many villages have you gone to for evangelism am sure if you have you would have observed various ministries are penetrating these areas Once u can drop the idea that the gospel is a money making buisness you will begin to see clearly
If books and materials are being sold, the gospel is still moving forward aside that the monies recovered are still being put back into production or other ministry issues The gospel is free but not cheap
davidylan: huh? What does it mean to "have a pastor under you"? You mean shirking your own spiritual responsibility and expecting to be spoonfed by another? What of the Berean christians? Werent they under the pastorship of Paul? why did the bible record that they were more blessed because they went home critically reading to be sure they were being taught the truth by Paul? Quite sad . . . this age has spawned a bunch of christians who are spiritually lazy, heavy on man's doctrine and light on the truth of the gospel.
Obviously am correct Sure as christians we should study 2 Timothy 2:15 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
But this does not take the place of your pastor
Ephesians 4:11-12 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Jeremiah 3:15 15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
davidylan: the problem is simple - in nigeria the idea of having a "ministry" is no longer about selfless sharing of the gospel as led by the Holy Ghost but another form of regular avenue for paid employment.
Are you talking from experience? Even if you feel this way it does not mean it's true, If you have a pastor over you am sure he'll be able to explain some things better to you, but this statement you just made clearly shows you are not under a pastor
