It becomes neccessary for each an every one of us here to list such attitudes or behaviours we expect or dont expect from a born again christian. Everybody is free to contribute because i believe even the atheists, the traditional worshippers has behaviours they expect from someone who claims to be born again. Zodiac61: Keep digging that hole for yourself. All you had to do was admit that your statement about ulcers and fasting is not only wrong, but very dangerous. I know that a lot of people are unable or unwilling to let the truth come between them and their god. You appear to be one of those persons. Not only are you willing to lie for Jesus, you are also willing to let people seriously harm themselves or even die for Jesus. What qualifications does a pastor have to give medical advice? May I also say that my beliefs, or lack thereof, are irrelevant to the issue that you raised. If you are really are a 'medical scientist' (whatever that means), I am very sorry for those who consult you in a professional capacity. In the meantime, we are done. Ha ha ha I laugh |

Zodiac61: @Asibalua, Continue to try to pull the wool over people's eyes. All I see is dishonesty in your position. As a 'medical scientist' you should really know better than to recommend something that can kill. Since when did pastors become doctors? As I said, lying for Jesus. 1. Answer the question sir. 2. There are pastors who are also professional doctors 3. Pastors are spiritual people and do not need medical knowledge to counsel people on what to do,life is spiritual |

Zodiac61: This is your source!!!!! I am shocked and surprised that a "medical scientist" accepts this as a source for such an insane and dangerous proposition. This is woo upon woo - serious pseudo-science. Information: science deals with a lot of research, I said medical studies, what medical studies have showm, not that the research is ended Also I am sure you understand the cause of stomach ulcer in the first place and the mechanisms involved in causing it if you do then I should also believe that that you know that when you fast you stop the intake of these acid that aggravate ulcer, But I also said ask your doctor, maybe I should have said ask your pastor. Since this is a religious thread, you can move over to the health section where there already is a thread on this issue and air your views there, but for now it is good to fast as a Christian which brings me to the question Are you one? |

Personalliy I don't think pastor chris being talked about on NL has anything to do with his suits, hair or skin colour, I think it has more to do with the fact that he is one person that does not seek for human attention and praise and hardly makes any comment even when harsh words are being used to criticise him, I believe this to be a show of love towards all,and also it is very obvious to all that his ministry is moving fast ahead of the present This makes him a very easy target cos people want to say things that will catch his attention |

Christianity Etc › Re: I'm Losing My Faith In Christianity by Azibalua(f): 8:41pm On Jan 12, 2011 |
alexleo: The problem is that most of you that claims to be christians are just worshiping your pastors more than God. In the church i attend, we dont talk money there like all this other churches. We strictly preach God's word more as it concerns our soul, how we should live for christ on earth so as to make heaven at last and this contains keeping to all the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. There is nothing like offering time during service. We have a box in-built in the church wall where you can put your tithe or offering anytime anyday without anyone seeing you or checkmating you. We believe that those things are strictly between you and God. In our church the pastor has no access to cash, his own is to approve when there is need and of course he is not the only one to approve. Most churches today are just business centres with pastors who are more money minded than heavenly minded. Quite a pity their members are not fed with the word of eternal life thereby making them unprepared for heaven. May God deliver such churches. Amen. Interesting, pls can you enlighten us a little. in your church do you have seats, also do you have a sound system? Okay let's take a step ahead: do you have an outreach where you reach out to the poor and destitute, do you preach the gospel around the world via satellite? Now if the answer is yes then I think you are a problem in that congregation, the gospel is very free ,oh yes it is .but trust me it is not cheap at all, even if you do not belong to the group that give in your church I can assure you that. there are those who do it and am sure they are getting blessed,or do you receive allocations from NGO |

fasting in itself helps us to get our spirits attuned to God. Fasting helps us position ourselves spiritually to hear God – to listen to Him. fasting doesn’t get God to listen to us; it gets us to listen to God It’s a spiritual exercise also; it’s a form of self-denial, where you’re able to subdue your flesh, subdue your appetites, and then you can listen to voice of the Spirit of God within you. So, that’s why fasting is important. in prayer. It helps your focus; it strengthens your resolve, |
Christianity Etc › Re: What Will You Do As A Christian? by Azibalua(f): 10:37am On Jan 12, 2011 |
There are three levels of homosexuality and other wrong acts
1.) The level of fascination: Now, at the level of fascination, you can, through your meditation on God’s word , get rid of it yourself; You meditate on God’s word and by changing your mind, [you can effect changes in your way of life, and that’ll be the end of homosexuality; but you’ve got to make up your mind for that.
2.) The second level is the level of habit: Now, at the level of habit, you are more or less under the control of your own mind,we control [we create] our habits, but in the end, our habits produce a character for us. So, once it has come to the second level of a habit, you would need to break it through another habit; which means, you have to develop a new habit of consciousness of the word of God. That’s a little more difficult for younger Christians. But it is possible, and necessary, if you are already at the level of habit, which is the second level. It does mean that you would need to produce or create a new habit - the habit of not doing it - the habit of replacing your thoughts with certain thoughts of God and being in certain places instead of what would normally attract your attention or your interest to homosexuality. So, you develop a new kind of habit. Like I said, it requires a lot more discipline than the first level. 3.) Now, the third level is where you would require someone to help you; your Pastor will be able to help you. Of course, any other more mature Christian can do that for you, but, always better when you talk with your Pastor. That third level is the demonic level. Now, the demonic level is where a demon has now taken advantage of what you were fascinated with that became a habit, and began to control your mind to this level where this demon, having observed you and observed your interest, has taken a hold of you in this area of your life. And so, it can make you subject to his dictates,You are now in bondage. See, it’s come to a demonic level; you are now in bondage to that devil. You have yielded to that devil and that devil must be cast out. It must be cast out of your mind, out of your system, before you will be free. Now, can you do that yourself? Oh, yes! It is possible also; but, it does require more knowledge of the word, more….a better understanding of the scriptures and definiteness of purpose. You make up your mind [that] this is what you want and you’re going to have to have it this way. And then, you ask that devil to go and you’ll have to trust, in faith, that that devil heard you. But if you go to someone who’s more mature than you, it’ll be far better because he’ll cast that devil out of you and you’ll keep the devil out. So, that’s why I said it depends on which of these levels the homosexual is: fascination level, habit level or the demonic level. To know what level you are in see your pastor and through the spirit of god and by ministering to you he can tell you how far you 've gone |

Am not surprised he took Money from them
Many pastor want to be in Jeep by force and this is not what Jesus preached, if it was that Jesus will charge you before a Miracle his been done, will we all believe in Him, Jesus only came to teach us all the Doctrine and Commandment of God (which Moses failed to do), LET US WORSHIP THE LORD IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH & READ OUR BIBLE DAILY, that is what the Pastors are using to deceive us, they read more than we do and called there self a Man of God, a true Man of God will not make mouth and will not say too much but a word means thousands of explanation.
Many Church Worship Jesus Christ which i never know the reason why but for me i Bow down and Worship God and Prayed in My Heart every "Three Hours" and times that i am less busy and read my Bible for Guidance & Counseling.[/b] jesus did not come to complete the work of moses rather he came to give life and life abundantly. which bible do you read |

Ndipe: This is a question that I have pondered on and decided to ask all Nairalanders if stealing is ever justified and if so, in what circumstances.
Lets say that you are the student body president of a Nigerian university and a certain sum of money has been allocated to be paid to students for their annual bursary. After disbursing them, you realize that there are some left over money. Now, there are certain students from underprivileged background who are on the verge of being kicked out for lack of fees. There are some left over money that could easily pay off their fees, but your dilema is two fold: If you are return back the left over money to your governor, chances are he will easily pocket it, but if you choose to help out these indigent students financially to better their future, would that be considered stealing in the eyes of God?
I would like a response on this subject. what is not yours,is not yours,if you think returning it to the governor means he ll pocket it then go with a lot of students,do not forget the ones who are studying law trust me they will make a good case of it,also take along with you the student union officials{all of them},then get some lecturers also get the press men with all this it will be quite difficult for the governor to pocket the money |

And I want to believe they constitute a good proportion of the people that were sent back to viewing centers. The real control could not have been the money but the efforts of the security agents, crowd control marshals, ushers e.t.c. now you understand, for you to think that a good proportion of people were sent to the viewing centres it means you believe the crowd was more than double of what the facilty could take. |

Zikkyy: What do you think a Taliban will be doing with an internet enabled computer in front of him? Listening to a Church sermon, with the pastor asking for donations to spread the word (as usual), or negotiating with a weapon supplier? Don’t you think he might probably be gathering intelligence relating to America troop movement? The man on the internet is searching for something, probably to reinforce an idea, a belief or to improve on knowledge earlier acquired. So you need to mke that trip to Afghanistan and introduce Christianity, you can follow up using the internet. It’s not a bad thing if you ‘lose your head’ in the process. sorry very false, they may be looking for something else but when they stumble on the word they remain there because the word of god has saving and penetrating power,it is sharper than their guns{Heb 4:12}- for the word of god is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the hearts.- also i have never heard Pastor Chris ask for money on air if you have pls let us know when and where |

micklplus: So, charging 1000 is supposed to be for crowd control, right? Does it mean other strategies can't be applied to control crowd? What happened to crowd management without pay? Really, what would JESUS do? I think we should be more strategical in our approaches to life. As a church, we can't allowed people to ridicule Christ and christendon as a result of what we do. As church leaders that we are, we shud always try to control and check our pastors when they are going astray. May the LORD set our eyes on the path of light and righteousness. Cheers you should have been at the venue to observe security agents, crowd control marshalls ,ushers and so many others function, and who says other crowd control management options were not carried out. the truth is the facility has a particular amount of persons it can take so there are no issues of stampede that have been recorded in some other programs elsewhere, there were other viewing centres where tickets were not sold, this was only done to ensure that only the right amount of people get into the venue considering that the man of god will be ministering live at this venue and a whole lot of people will want to get in. more-so these tickets were sold in church alone and not in public places,if the target was to make money am sure we would have had all the eateries media houses, and so many other vendors selling, am sure tickets would also have been sold online. |
