NLMediator:

All these plenty donations account for why many christians remain poor. They operate a different financial model from the pastors and the ministries themselves, which is why the latter are usually successful while the flock wallow in poverty or live in Barely-Making-it-Ville. Interstingly enough, the pastors have it right. Does it occur to anybody that there's hardly any financially successful pastor in Nigeria or elsewhere that truly gives more than 2-5% of their income, unlike the members that give upwads of 30%?
To prosper you must give, every preacher must give,he is not exempted.
What proof do you have that there's hardly any financially successful pastor that gives the amount you stated above.
Also how do you give is it by calculation?

I assume you love each other; seeing your pastor might bring your relationship to another level. If you've decided to spend the rest of your life with this guy and pastor says otherwise, would that disorganise you?
My advice - just pray for happy married life and be careful before a supposed MOG puts asunder what God has already joined together
so many marriages are over today but initially they taught they were in love,so what happened to the love? Did it turn to ice block?

@jo'azibalua'agbaje
Would stop writing thrash? Since when did it become necessary to seek a pastor's consent before going into a relationship? The kind of thrash you pentecostal pastors preach all in a bid to control the smallest details of your congregation's lives. That is what joblessness causes. You better go and find a decent Job.

Another advice is for you to see a marriage or relationship counsellor as pastors are only interested in one thing and that
is tithes of income coming into their pocket.

Interesting for you to say that

Thanks Muskeeto and Snowwy,

Yes you are correct Azibalua, sorry we did decide to be friends first. I did explain to him, we first have to talk to my
pastor and he don't have a problem with that. Because of previous problems in a relationship I had, my pastor helped me and at the end of the day I could surely see that God have given pastor the wisdom to advise me. And my friend understand it that way and respect it

So the when you guys go to him ,be honest, and what you don't know ask questions.

There was nothing wrong with everything that was being done in that service, the preacher did not put a leash on the neck of the people, they gave out of their hearts not by anyone forcing them to do so.
Every Christian ought to be a giver and also it does not have to be only monetary.this is used mostly cos it's a means of exchange.
And the man of god watching as people dropped their offering was definitely not wrong after all Jesus did the same.
Mark 12:41-44
41 Sitting across from the offering box, he was observing how the crowd tossed money in for the collection. Many of the rich were making large contributions. 42 One poor widow came up and put in two small coins-- a measly two cents. 43 Jesus called his disciples over and said,"The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. 44 All the others gave what they'll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn't afford-- she gave her all."

I would rather put mine in front of educational stations like discovery and also cartoon network instead of the religious programs that are on every other day. You say a two year old child won't be able to memorise, so of what use is a christian program to them? They'll basically have no understanding and would eventually make up their minds on religion as soon as they are old enough to.
You are joking
Cartoon network?
I heard of a 2 year old who used the frypan in their house on the head of his younger one,
Do you want to take a wild guess where he got that from.
Recently I was rehearsing a song with a friend, immediately we ended the verse my son who is just over one started aaahing the song
Just imagine him watching cartoon network

Saying grace is upon this child shows your lack of understanding of a child's mind. Some children pick up habits from their parents/environment really early in life, and chance are if they've grown up in such an environment, it won't be difficult to mimic.
Because they pick up habits does not mean they don't have grace
Even Solomon when he was born was called beloved by god
Hmm such grace.
2 Samuel 12:24-25
24 David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went to her and lay with her; and she bore a son, and she called his name Solomon. And the Lord loved[ the child]; 25 He sent[ a message] by the hand of Nathan the prophet, and[ Nathan] called the boy's[ special] name Jedidiah[ beloved of the Lord], because the Lord[ loved the child].

Nobody likes to be poor, but wanting or wishing to be rich is not enough. I think it was shakespear that said that if wishes were horses beggars would ride. Good education, hard work, applying oneself to always be able to spot opportunities and seizing them is what gets you up the material ladder.

Jesus christ died so as to give us the best life, a new life
Romans 6:4
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

we are no longer subject to the rudiments of the world or the way things are done. We live by his words.
Good education ,hard work are spices in the stew of success but what keeps the stew cooking is ones ability to believe in gods word

2 Corinthians 3:5
5 Not that we are fit( qualified and sufficient in ability) of ourselves to form personal judgments or to claim or count anything as coming from us, but our power and ability and sufficiency are from God.

God has principles of success, and he operates by them .to live a life of prosperity you must be a giver according to gods standard

 2 Corinthians 9:6-8
6 But remember this-- if you give little, you will get little. A farmer who plants just a few seeds will get only a small crop, but if he plants much, he will reap much. 7 Everyone must make up his own mind as to how much he should give. Don't force anyone to give more than he really wants to, for cheerful givers are the ones God prizes. 8 God is able to make it up to you by giving you everything you need and more so that there will not only be enough for your own needs but plenty left over to give joyfully to others.

PS: We do know He actually asked a rich man to give away all his wealth. Why then are the fake men of God not behaving as their "supposed" master said to behave

But that's exactly what they are doing and yet you complain

Religion / Re: Seed Sowing And The Christian by Azibalua(f): 7:07am On Jun 02, 2011
One sure way of prospering is giving, but with it comes an attitude,it should not be by eye service,or even with fear,it should be done the way the word says that is cheerfully,
Also it's not the quantity that mattes which makes us know that anyone can give but rather the question is are you giving your all?
Religion / Re: How To Reap The Full Benefits Of Tithing by Azibalua(f): 7:04am On Jun 02, 2011
garyarnold:

@Tonye-t,

Instead of sticking with the reliable KJV translation, you switch around to find a version that suits your purpose.

Malachi 3:9 (KJV) - Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

The KJV added the word "even" for clarity purposes, but has confused some. The verse is saying that GOD had been robbed; therefore, this whole nation has been robbed. If you study Nehemiah 13, you will see how this happened. The priests took the Levites portion of the tithe that was in the Storehouse. The Levites had no food. The Levites had to leave the Temple and go back to their homes in the Levitical cities. The Levites were robbed of the tithe. By doing so, the Temple had to be closed. Closing the Temple was the robbing of the whole nation.

Galatians 3:13 “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us…” There is no curse today so Malachi 3:9 is irrelevant today.

The Bible CLEARLY SHOWS that the tithe ENDED at the cross in the Book of Hebrews. In the first nine verses of Hebrews 7 the words tenth or tithes appears SEVEN TIMES. The ONLY place in the Bible, after Calvary, that tithing appears is in Hebrews 7.

Hebrews 7:5 (KJV) “And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the
loins of Abraham:”

Verse 5 is the first occurance of the words TITHES, COMMANDMENT and LAW.

Hebrews 7:12 (KJV) “For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.”

Hebrews 7:18 (KJV) “For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

The word COMMANDMENT in verse 18 must be referring to the word COMMANDMENT in verse 5 which is referring to the tithe.

Therefore, the COMMANDMENT to TITHE was disannulled.

1. tithing pre -existed the law, so it could not have gone with the law,it's a principle that has always been like prayers,worship.e.t.c

Matthew 5:43-46
43"There is a saying,` Love your friends and hate your enemies.'44 But I say: Love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! 45 In that way you will be acting as true sons of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust too. 46 If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even scoundrels do that much.
