The Eagles played terribly and were jittery on and off the ball. The were playing rubbish.....but it required a last min effort for Burkina-faso to get a draw. Now picture if the Eagles get their act together. The Eagles have it in them but lack confidence.

Ikengawo: this is nigeria.
In a sensible society it wouldn't be like this, but this is nigeria.
We have to change that thought pattern. Its what has gotten us to where we are today. Voting out of sentiment and not critically assessing the candidate's acheivements. Even if the candidate i vote for doesn't win, I'll satisfy my conscience
Politics › Re: If The Opposition Wants To Beat PDP They Must Run An Igbo Candidate. by ba7man(m): 3:16pm On Jan 22, 2013
I just wonder why some people can't string 5 words together without mentioning Fashola..... or Tonto Dicke. I will vote for a candidate i feel is credible...not by him being Igbo. Period.

manny4life: LOL, you know how many fictional dramas and scientific stuff I've seen from movies such as star wars to programs like CSI Miami and their likes? What's the purpose of fiction? Isn't it to entertain you? huh huh huh huh Can you apply fiction to everyday life and activity?

NO, hence the reason why it's called fiction aka isn't real. Fiction means it isn't real and not applicable. At the university, do they teach you fiction, or real life scenarios? huh huh huh What's the use of learning something that's not real let alone exist? So please, drop you fictional idea of learning, learning is for knowledge base, if you can't apply your so-called fictional theory to real life application, then isn't the sole purpose of learning wasted? I'm sorry, your fictional idea of learning DOES NOT HOLD.

Actually, Master of fictional learning, while you're at it, you should give me several fictional theories that you have learned and actually it's applied to real life situations.
Mr Manny....Jesus told parables, right?...They weren't based on real events but their purpose was to provide insight. Let me give u an example I'm sure u'll belive is stupid. If you are familiar with comic characters, Justice League is headed by Superman(He's immortal), his vice is Batman. Batman has no powers but he commands the rest who all have superpowers...Why?? Because he's very intelligent. His intelligence always contributes to their efforts in a big way....but I'm sure u would dismiss it all as kiddies cartoons. I can't belive you didn't learn anything from the Star wars movies. OMG!!! So all what Yoda says doesn't register to you??
Politics › Re: Obi Promises N5m For Information On Bodies In Ezu River by ba7man(m):
manny4life: Listen and learn what exactly? Fictional knowledge? Is it that I don't have Cox cable in my home to watch "REAL LIFE" Investigation Discovery channel? Yall are funny as sh.it, this is why I said, some of yall watch too much damn tv. Even an autopsy of a body, a detailed one takes about one week to complete, complex cases takes more than that. After that, you then get your results to the lab who conducts various testings. By the time the process is complete, probably few months down the road, and you have all your facts, how does that solve or find the perpetrators of the crime? huh huh huh huh huh

This is why I said some watch too much damn tv, because a lot of things on that show are fictional, but folks like you are just too gullible to figure it out. If you watch real ID crimes, real life police officers have less than a certain number of days to gather suspects and begin interrogation. NO POLICE DETECTIVE will wait for autopsy or forensic results to come out before commencing investigation. If it means they have to give a reward, they do so while investigation is going on. Even families of the victims also hire PI or private investigators + give rewards as well.

Cash rewards are NORMS in police investigation, particularly a place like Nigeria where the bodies can't even be identified, ok smartie, please tell us how they first identify each corpse. At least the CSI Miami you watch, isn't that what they do "FIRST"? Doesn't CSI have a database of records they cross-reference against, in this case, how do you do it? Not fictional, but on real TV Crime series, you see they have a "HOTLINE" where people can call with information, no matter how small or irrelevant it is. In every investigation, INFORMATION IS THE SOURCE. Without info, you're literally flying blind. Here you are asking me to listen and learn? cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy You guys watch too much TV.
This long essay of yours just revealed a lot about you. So because information is based on fiction, you learn nothing from it?? Your learning faculty is limited. This proves you can't marry fact and fiction to arrive at a logical conclusion.

Though its a good thing the Lagos State Government is curtailing the excesses of the population but there also has to be a balance. I respect the idea of the banning of Okadas till i decided to drop my car at home and take public transport to Ikeja....the ban is d right thing to do but mehn!!!...that day wasn't easy. And there are people that go thru this everyday. Yes, those ghettos are unsightly and dirty, clearing them is the right thing to do...until i witnessed the aftermath of a demolishion. Women, Children and men crying and lamenting. I then faced the reality that they had to be a better way to solving this same issue, there has to b a middle ground.

bokohalal: I actually like Ibadan. It is one of the Nigerian cities I would not mind living in for the rest of my life.I found the city very cosmopolitan, accomodating and inexpensive. All the negativity about Ibadan seem like joke to me.
You're so right bout it being inexpensive to live in. You need to see Some large, lovely buildings in nice neighbourhoods for rent at ridiculously low prices. I guess the conservative nature of the people there won't make them over-charge you on the rents.

Was sitting in d passanger side in front, my friend was driving while travelling once. I had fast-food in a nylon bag between my feet. Coincidentally, as my friend slowed down at a check-point, I bent down to pick a snack from the bag......See gbege!!! They sharply cocked their guns, pointed it at us and started screamin, "if you Move!!"...."Raise your hands!!!"...and like 20 other commands at once. I raised my hands slowly to reveal the Chicken in it. They warned us that sudden movements like that could be dangerous b'cos if there was an inexperienced member amongst them that got panicky, he could shoot first.....and ask questions later.

goldenbrown: U escaped the traffic by climbing the back of a truck and yet u peoples say the Govt has done well. Everyone is locked up shoulder to shoulder and you say this is a Govt that has done well for his people. Is that not a shame?. I still wonder y u guys compare Lag to PH. Lagos has been a federal capital for years and to PH: no nono no. Lagos was developed by the entire country just d way ABJ is been done. Let me not try to ponder on this Lagos Rivers issue. We should be thinking of how to develop other rural areas nd diconjest these cities. If your village is developed like Lag or Abj, will u think of leaving your village?. Let the population of d nation b evenly distributed. Everybody to your village
This happened to me in the 90's, silly. Fashola has cleared those illegal traders that block roads and cause those types of human traffic. So yeah, he's done well. Stop comparing PH and Lagos, wasn't even talking about development, we were talking bout population growth and density with its negative effects on a State's budget.

At least from what I'v learnt on CSI, Crime and Investigation, forensic detectives etc I should be able to provide clues to solving this mystery. Nairalanders, if u're sharp, pls drop a perceived clue. (1) I'd rule out a boat mishap b'cos there has been no info of a boat large enough to carry over 30 people capsizing and if it did, there would have been a report. (2) there has been no report of a communial clash in that region so that has also been rule out till further investigations.
Politics › Re: Lagos: Mega City Or Mega Madness? by ba7man(m): 9:53pm On Jan 20, 2013
@ Thoth. You could forward some of your points in a write-up to a state Government to challenge them if they are truely for the people. Don't know how to go about that effectively without connections but i think you have points they can build on.
Politics › Re: What Have Niger Delta States Achieved So Far? by ba7man(m): 9:34pm On Jan 20, 2013
J12: Lagos is not the only state with a High population growth rate. I doubt if the growth rate in Lagos is higher than that of Rivers state.

All properties belonging to the FG are repaired and taken care of by the FG not the LASG.
This statement of yours proves that you don't live in Lagos or you've never being to Lagos. How can you compare the two in terms of population?? Have you ever experienced a human traffic-jam in a street where everyone is locked up shoulder to shoulder and can't move in Rivers?? I have on Dosemu strt on Lagos Island. Rivers, regardless of their growth rate will need up to 20 years to be comparable to lagos in terms of population density. BTW, i escaped the human traffic jam by climbing the back of a truck.
Politics › Re: Lagos: Mega City Or Mega Madness? by ba7man(m): 8:59pm On Jan 20, 2013
thoth: You are confusing issues, if there is a market then the market should have its borders and the borders should be enforced. The purpose of Laws is to hold people back from abusing their Freedoms. What i am against is not setting the limits of peoples rights (like enforcing market borders) but eliminating Peoples Rights (like bulldozing the whole market and replacing it with mega housing estates, ponds, gardens etc that ordinary citizens cannot afford and not providing alternative space for decent people to carry on their businesses). Please don't confuse the two.
Point noted.
Politics › Re: Lagos: Mega City Or Mega Madness? by ba7man(m): 7:59pm On Jan 20, 2013
Seeing people living under bridges used to be the norm. They used to say Lagos is 4 everybody and if u don't have an accomodation, u pick a spot under a bridge and make it your home. Now, you dare not try that else u'd get arrested. Its not compulsory you stay in Lagos and if you can't stand d heat, stay out of the kitchen.
Politics › Re: Lagos: Mega City Or Mega Madness? by ba7man(m): 7:53pm On Jan 20, 2013
Another example, Back then on Lagos Island, shop lined roads had traders display wares in their shops, later they started displaying them in front of their shops, then they moved to the road sides, they later blocked the roads and turned them to markets no car can navigate. So they should be left there to support the poor??
Politics › Re: Lagos: Mega City Or Mega Madness? by ba7man(m): 7:46pm On Jan 20, 2013
Quick example. Quite a while ago, whenever i looked outside my office window located along Ikorodu rd, there was a thriving Chicken market right by the service lanes, crowded and smelling of Chicken sh*t. There was an open space across that Hausa muslims used as a prayer ground and thugs defeacated in that area too. People crossed the 10lane xpress randomly and yellow buses caused traffic along that stretch. Fast forward to today....The Chicken market has been cleared and there's a sidewalk that makes walking safer, the dirty open ground has been replaced with a garden, the pedestrian bridge close by has been refurbished so no need to dash across the express. B'cos you're supporting the poor doesn't mean you should tolerate madness. A sane looking environment uplifts the spirit.
Politics › Re: Fashola Begins Inspection Tour Of Projects by ba7man(m): 7:06pm On Jan 20, 2013
Abagworo: IMHO if this is all he achieved with 20billion Naira per month, I pity you all in Lagos.
Did u see the size of that market??....What of that housing estate?? Do u know how many housing estates like that he's constructed and are already sold out?? I enquired on purchasing and was told to hold out for ones under construction. Pls point out projects of that scale....or just that rail/6lane expressway under construction in Oil producing states that receive more to cater for less people. Produce pix evidence or hold you peace.
