Politics › Re: Lagos: Mega City Or Mega Madness? by ba7man(m): 1:19pm On Jan 20, 2013
If you don't adapt to progress or change, you'll get left behind. These so called "Poor" people don't mind expanding their slums and breeding like rats till Jesus comes back. Someone has to put them in situations that will force them to think. Lagos?? Used to be a real Mega Madness but the Governor's still in the process of changing all that. Its no longer "bizness as usual" to the people that throng into Lagos in the back of trailers to live under bridges, slums, ride Okadas, street trade etc. The earlier they get that, the better.

Politics › Re: Is Lagos State Overrated By Lagosians? by ba7man(m): 8:03pm On Jan 18, 2013
If it was truely overated its economy won't be bigger than a lot of African countries and its population won't be one of the largest in Africa. Its not New york but its Nigeria's financial and Economic nerve center. Let me add a little controversy....."Na Lagos sense sharp pass for Nigeria".

Food › Re: Be Careful Of Made In China Foods by ba7man(m): 2:55pm On Jan 18, 2013
Clemzy16: It's funny to know that most "made in china" products were actually made in Nigeria. *I smell inferiority complex*
Its not only their foods...almost all their products. The only allure is lower prices. Their doors fall apart at the hinges and handles, their cars crumple like cardboard(most can't pass the European crash safety tests), the only "Made in China" product that's ok to buy is from international companies that manufacture in China due to the fact that they maintain their product standards there at lower labour cost.
Politics › Re: Only Lagos Can Survive Without Oil – Fashola by ba7man(m): 10:52am On Jan 18, 2013
thelastPope: Honestly, all the partisan debates and arguments aside, I just didn't know what to answer the guy. I was speechless! His statement was just ridiculous!
I won't argue this one for Lagos today. Lagos got a head start over other states due to it being the commercial nerve center and capital of the Nation. Oil money certainly played its part in maintaining it as the economic capital it is today.

Delafruita: yes i typed it.i dont understand whats so significantly different about festac.i lived in festac as a young boy, lived in gowon estate for a while and i really dont understand the difference.true, festac was well planned, but so were jakande's estates.the only hype with festac is the supposed "class" and its been tagged "high brow".festac guys and girls try to "form" big boy or girl.moreover, most of the "beautiful masterpieces" in festac were not part of the plan.individuals buy the land, demolish the house and rebuild their own structure.its only those who hear about festac that still live in that fantasy world of festac been so wooooow.its no different from abesan estate or gowon estate
Noooo Way!!! I strongly disagree with you also as a born and bred in Festac guy. Festac was designed to be self sufficient. It had a post-office, market, water-works, parks, play grounds, sidewalks, underground drains, tree lined avenues, World class zoning and grid plan layout. Its just a shame it is how it is today, but pls, do not make that comparism....even the festac low-cost flats were better than anything Jakande built. Not trying to discredit him though b'cos he was visionary.
Crime › Re: Your Experience With Area Boys by ba7man(m): 3:45pm On Jan 17, 2013
Mine was way back when Oshodi was still "OSHODI". I had just returnd from school then and i was pressd as I alighted from the bus. I found a hidden spot as I was at it I heard a voice behind saying in yoruba "so I'm the one dat comes to piss here, I should round-up and follow him. Though i was scared, I calmly followed and noticed he had a jumbo wrap of "Igbo" in his hands. I asked him if he could let me puff a bit..He was taken aback but he passed it to me. By the time I got to where his cohorts were i was calmly smoking weed by his side. They asked if i was "Meat" and he said "no". I ordered paraga and we had a swell time jisting about people they had attacked and how they hated students b'cos they "formed" too much. I later left them and they told me to drop by anytime i was around.

Sincere 9gerian: I remember vividly that Mr president, while on a working visit to Anambra last yr, promised to replace Barth Nnaji with another competent Igbo man/woman from Enugu.

Politicians make 'political' promises but GEJ makes real promises and fulfils them.

Another PROMISE kept!
You're just a big "HO"!!!....I know u might be someones dad but it doesn't change how i feel about you. Why did i say this?? People are here discussing his educational background and qualifications for the job and you are here trying to use it to make your boss look good. You might be someones husband but deep down inside you're shyte.

Politics › Re: Check Out This Pictures And Tell Me What U Think About Abia State by ba7man(m): 6:51pm On Jan 16, 2013
At least look at the bright side...Governors are now making an attempt at infrastructural development...Nigeria had it worse in the 90's. Things can only get better.
Politics › Re: What Was Budgeted By Lagos For Feeding In 2013? by ba7man(m): 6:12pm On Jan 16, 2013
talktimi: its obvious most people here didn't read & understand the OP's article completely.
He's simply asking how much each state govt budgeted for feeding, the presidency's budget is roughly over N200 million this year. This is a straight foward question and doesn't entail hurling of insults or tribalistic comments as is being done now by some people on this thread.
What's really pissing people off is that they know him and they know where he was heading...they are looking beyond his question and targeting his motive. He gets a hard-on from tryin to discredit Gov Fashola. Whatever he says doesn't stop Lagos from being the best run state in Nigeria though.

B'cos Falcao destroyed Chelsea doesn't automatically mean he's better than Van-Persie. V.P has been scoring top-flight goals way b4 anyone heard of the name "Falcao".
Politics › Re: Fashola Denies Obtaining $15m From Export-import Bank by ba7man(m): 12:26pm On Jan 16, 2013
At least he used it to purchase Fire-Trucks. Lagos State's fire service has just received a boost and this means more firemen will be employed. Keep looking for holes while Lagos keeps moving ahead.
Politics › Re: What Was Budgeted By Lagos For Feeding In 2013? by ba7man(m): 12:17pm On Jan 16, 2013
Since this Phantom "Food Budget" doesn't exist in the Lagos State Budget. I guess i'll have to go to Alausa to start asking "How many crates of soft drink did you purchase and at what rate??...ok, how many cows did you purchase and prices??...what of bags of rice??....Or the OP can do it since he so badly needs answers.
Politics › Re: What Was Budgeted By Lagos For Feeding In 2013? by ba7man(m): 11:10am On Jan 16, 2013
thelastPope: Have you ever heard of the word "subjective" and "relative"? I dont have to defend the budget. Am just letting you know that you cannot say a budget is bad because the items are not like LASG budget. Is that not clear enough? I dont even want to read the bauchi budget because I believe the items will annoy me. Like if I see millions being spent on pilgrimage. But, my point is, that might just be what is obtainable in that part of the world. In terms of borrowing, you could say the same for LASG. They are borrowing massively too!
Now, if you truely care about State Government budgets, expenditure and making Nigeria better, your target Should be States like the same Bauchi that annoys you and Niger Delta States that receive so much but deliver nothing. Questioning the best run state in Nigeria will only pass you off as an Oposition seeking to discredit the efforts of your rival.
