You've obviously never read the biography of any of these great musicians otherwise you would know already what is common knowledge. Why don't you go on their wikipedia pages and check for yourself. The record labels that an artiste was signed to is always listed on there.

OP, I was nodding in agreement while reading your piece until you mentioned Fela, Angelique Kidjo, Mariam Makeba, Sunny Ade, etc. And you said they never signed international deals. My guy you goofed big time there. All those people you mentioned signed international deals and were managed by international record labels. Please look up your facts next time before posting. In the old days, many international labels like Decca Records, Island records, EMI, etc actually had Nigerian offices.

I believe Boko haram members should all be killed, including their sponsors, whoever they may be. They have destroyed too many lives, and families.
Being a Christian doesn't mean you should watch terrorists come to kill you. I learnt some bomb explosions happened in Adamawa today? If anyone had caught the person with the detonator and killed him before he was able to detonate the bomb, innocent lives wouldn't have been lost.
I think everyone , Christians and Muslims, and atheist, and Sango worshippers etc should be vigilant and careful. We all should speak up against terrorism.

If you think only Boko Haram is doing all the killings then you have allowed yourself to be deceived. Even people who call themselves Christians have been killing too and this should not be so. Persecution of Christians did not start today, it started from the very beginning of the faith. If Christians back then decided to fight and kill back against their enemies then the faith would not have endured till today. I am speaking purely from a spiritual perspective now. It is very wrong to ask Christians to kill anybody for any reason at all. God will punish anybody who teaches such a thing, whether he is a bishop or not doesn't matter.

Why must we avoid reality?

Okay. This is my advice. Any community in Nigeria that is under attack has every right to defend itself with deadly force. In the heat of the moment it is perfectly legal to return fire for fire. However, the reason these Southern Kaduna killings have continued for the past 25 years is because of reprisal killings for revenge. After an attack by one side, the other side goes to buy weapons and mobilizes to go and take revenge on the other side. I am not in support of that. I would encourage both the Hausa-Fulani communities and the Zango-Kataf communities to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness and to let bygones be bygones. That is the only possible way to move forward.

I cannot give any advice because I am not a member of that community. The way I see it, self defense is no crime in the eye of the law, however revenge killings are. Just my personal opinion.

Bishop Oyedepo is not a community leader or a politician. He is a Christian leader and should be an example of Christ. The question to ask him is not what should communities do. It is what would Jesus do? Would Jesus tell his followers to kill anybody? Then why is a church leader telling followers of Jesus to kill somebody? Can such a thing be right?

Oyedepo has lost it. I used to respect this man so much, now he has completely deviated from the path of true Christianity. I pity him and his many followers.

The problem with our country is that it is still our country instead of becoming our nation. We are still trying to build a country but we have made no attempt to build a nation. A country is a place where you come from but a nation is a place where you belong to, where you have a stake. Mention one thing apart from football that brings this country together. You think these Southern Kaduna killings just started now under Buhari? It's been happening since 1991 when Babangida was in power. It happened several times under Jonathan too. It's a long standing and ongoing problem and blaming APC and Buhari will not solve it.
