Why are you talking like this. The federal government during buhari time provided loan, fertilizer and many things for this farmers freely. They are the one that even agitate that buhari should close the border. Now they now remember that our neighbors pay very well 😳😳😳

PoliticsRe: Dangote Refinery’s Second Crude Oil Shipment Leaves US For Nigeria by Babathanks(m): 11:10am On Mar 03, 2024
fawaz050:
Buy Crude from Ghana?

I used to think highly of you before. But you fall my hand

650,000bpd? And you think NNPC cannot meet up? At the minimum NNPC, produces 1.2mbpd and putting local needs first means Dangote's request will always be prioritized.

The major problem here is the $3.3bn Crude oil for Cash Agreement with Afrexim, which is a sham by the way. Hence, the NNPC is stuck between:

1. Keeping up with the loan facility agreement with AFREXIM.

2. Selling crude to meet up with FAAC Allocations and

3. Meeting up with local request.

But my question is, why can't NNPC advise Dangote to import from Russia?

The delivery timeline is quicker, their oil is better than WTI and, the exchange rate is better.

Gooood! Deliver us from this people o
Actually you have a very good advice about NNPC advicing dangote to import from Russia. But the west is fighting Russia now through various sanction because of Ukraine war and if dangote or Nigeria try to do anything with them. The US government and the west would reck us with sanction. Our own would even be worst more than Venezuela because we don't produce anything😂

Lol. Akpabio said the nine states in NDDC are in the Niger Delta region. These are the charlatans that make laws for the country.

Only Bayelsa state, warri areas of Delta state, and the small riverine areas of Rivers state, just below port Harcourt, are geographically Niger Delta. NDDC should be renamed to include all oil producing states, or oil exploitation from the none NDDC states should stop.
Please stop saying what you don't know. I'm from ilaje in Ondo state. My local government have crude oil and bitumen. We share water border with the ijaw in delta state that also have oil also. We even fought many years of war. We all live on water together.

PoliticsRe: Economic Hardship: Begin Importation Of Food - TUC Tells FG by Babathanks(m): 8:00am On Feb 27, 2024
spiSeyi:
What a bad idea which will further destroy the falling Naira, Nigeria has enough food but the local farmers prefer to export their farm produce even though they got loans, and free fertilizers from the government.
FG should ban food exportation till further notice and cut VAT rate on every food items, then make it compulsory for the ministry of agriculture in every state to farm at least 100 acres of land.
Lastly state of emergency should be declared in the Nigeria commodity market and prices of food items should be regulated. Meanwhile, I still bought local rice from Tapa farmers at 60k per bag yesterday
One of the problem that you guys have is that you don't travel. You'II just stay in one state in south west and start analysis rubbish. In sokoto alone. I know more than 30 border there. How could you block it?. Some states in south are landlock. Especially many south south and southeast states, Nigeria is not practicing big mechanize farming like Benin republic and our youth don't like farming. You can't force the youth to farm. The best thing is to focus on importation of food from Benin republic. Is not only dollar they use to import food in Benin republic border. We need to save ourselves first. I live in Kaduna but I can tell you frankly that Kaduna boys are now joining bandit because of hunger. Nobody is safe including you that stay in south ooo because once they kidnap us finish because of hunger. They would turn to the south
PoliticsRe: Economic Hardship: Begin Importation Of Food - TUC Tells FG by Babathanks(m): 7:48am On Feb 27, 2024
Namaster:
A good bad idea.

Importing food with scarce dollars would deepen the problem. It'll be more food that Nigerians CANNOT afford.

Instead, the government needs to launch an aggressive and sustained comprehensive attack on bandits and terrorists holding whole farming villages to ransom.

Also, the government needs to approve state police ASAP and have the states set up a special farmland protection squad. Like SARS, but better because they'll only harass trespassing herdsmen and criminal bandits.

Finally, more stringent price control measures need to be introduced. It's MADNESS for the price of goods to jump more than 40-50% in just 7 days.
You're saying trash. During Jonathan and Obasanjo regime. Dollar is between 100-150 and we import our food and Many products. But when buhari enter and he stop the importation of food, see how dollar jump because he create inflation. I support TUC on this, we should open that Benin republic border for food only. People are dying of hunger and you're saying something like this.

That’s what hatred and bitterness for other people leads to. Dy play. I was born and brought up in the north. 98% of Yoruba in the north don't get involve in there politics. If we want to vote now, me and my family would travel from Kaduna to Ondo and vote. Do you know if people like us want to travel out or use dollar to buy something. Is only BDC that can come to our rescue. Not bank.
PoliticsRe: Producers Give Reasons For Skyrocketing Cost Of Cement by Babathanks(m): 4:53pm On Feb 19, 2024
Dangote would export is product to neigbouring countries. Our farmers here in the north are all exporting there products to Niger republic. But all of us would now be frowning to government anytime they want to open the border. Some people will even be praising them for closing the border 😂. I think average Nigerians are greedy, there is nothing bad in competition between your neighbors. That border is not supposed to be close
PoliticsRe: Kenyan Politician Advices Nigerians Against Spoiling Nigeria's Brand Globally by Babathanks(m): 7:43am On Feb 19, 2024
DoTheNeedful:
I am happy that a foreigner is saying this. The way Nigerians run down their country is pathetic.

Even the millions of Ghanaians and South Africans who have never been to Nigeria call Nigeria a generator republic. It is Nigerians that wash their dirty linens in public. Unfortunately, some of those foreigners Nigerians ridicule their country in front go away with a worse impression of Nigeria. Some of them even think we don't have electricity at all. A Ghanian friend of mine was surprised to know that Nigeria generates three times more electricity than Ghana generates and uses two times what Ghana uses.

Nigerians need to be careful how they portray Nigeria outside. For more than 20 years, many middle-class Nigerians ran down the university system in Nigeria as extremely terrible. Yet today many Nigerian graduates are getting recruited in Canada, UK and the likes, even without foreign certificates. Nigerian graduates are still getting admissions to Harvard and other ivy league schools. I live in the US, and I am always happy to see Nigerians who graduated from Unilag, UNN etc, graduating from top PhD programs in the US and getting in to top American companies.

We can disagree with the government of the day, politicians and be dissatisfied with other things in Nigeria. However, we should be careful about how we project the country outside. Many Nigerians are too negative about Nigeria.
.
God bless you for this. Nigerians have tarnish our image on social media. Me and one woman from a Caribbean was supposed to do one little business. Immediately I told her that am originally from Nigeria like this. She lost interest, she started telling me all the negative things that Nigerians use to say about there country on Twitter. Many Nigerians don't know how to use social media space. You don't just go to international news space or foreign space to start insulting your country and president. But you can do that on your local news space or local space on any social media. Let me use Pakistan as a case study, they are battling terrorism and economic hardship but you would never see them talk negative about there country. They even praise there country and there leaders but if you enter there Pakistani space on social media. You would see alot of banter going on there.

Omoh this government is very stupid, you want to import food items to solve the high cost of food items in Nigeria when the Naira is falling like a dead man and the current exchange rate is 1 USD to 1500 Naira. Will this not make food items more expensive? The only good thing I can think about the policy is that maybe it may discourage those in the north that is manipulating the food market and bring more competition to the table.
Let them open that fucking border. Forget about all this exchange rate for now. We needed to solve all this hunger issue in this country first. If you see how boys are trooping in to join bandit now cos of hunger especially here in Kaduna. Nobody is safe till we fix this food crisis o

That is the reason for diplomatic collaboration.
This embassies are located in Nigeria. Ministry of foreign affairs can engage them on the need to transact in naira or only allow transactions through banks that will help you convert your naira equivalent to the currency you wish to make payments with at the embassy.

Nigeria can survive without BDC operation
Is a lie o😂. Nigeria cannot survive without BDC o😂. It is me and u that would affect, it will never affect politicians and big business man. Ministry of foreign affairs cannot solve any shit cos in embassy for instance would only collect dollar cash from you. Do you knpw how many times I have tried to get dollar from bank?. I lost count already, it is BDC that always come to my rescue anytime I need it. Bank only gave the dollars to strong person in Nigeria and not average person.
