Here is the update about my follow-up interview today.
I did not use my last US visa though it was my first US visa because the event I wanted to attend was cancelled due to Covid-19.

VO: You didn't use your last US visa?
Me: Yes
VO: Where are you going and what's the reason?
Me: Mentioned the city and the purpose. Same event I wanted to attend two years ago.
VO: Have you been to the UK before?
Me: Yes.
Flipped through my passport. I have an expired UK visa, 2 expired Schengen visas and one year valid Schengen visa.
VO: Did you travel with your family?
Me: No. Children were in school.
VO: Visa not approved. You can reapply.
Me: Thank you. I waka comot jejely. Lol.

Apparently, she wasn't happy that I didn't use the last visa. But I can't travel without a purpose.

I am a bit confused on this 221G follow up interview. The first date that popped up for me I chose was March 3rd but my passport was still with them. After traveling to go attend the interview, the processing guys sent me back to go get my passport as it was just sent. I have now collected the passport yesterday and saw the white paper with “schedule follow up interview” no dates are however popping up. How do I proceed to conclude the 221G interview? If you know kindly shed light. Thank you.

Continue to check until you get a date. Hopefully, you will get a date for your follow up interview very soon

Once you login, the Information is right there saying schedule followup interview. One you check the circle, dates will either pop or it comes blank

The date written on my refusal letter is 25th February. Got pick up mail on March 2nd and picked it up March 3rd.

Yeah. It's at the instance of the Consulate. Got a refusal. I didn't use my last visa because the event I wanted to attend was cancelled due to Covid-19. I had no any other reason to travel to the States. Though it was my first US visa.

Is the follow up appointment at the instance of the Consulate? That is, did you get a refusal at the IW/Dropbox submission?

If so, the appointment dates will pop up in a couple of days for you to choose from. You don’t have to join any telegram group if this applies to you.

I need to schedule a follow-up interview. It seems it's difficult to be added to the telegram group.
I will appreciate if anyone already in the group can paste info about openings here as soon as they become available.

Hmmm...how do they ascertain that you are the same owner of the old email? Anyone could try to impersonate you? Just thinking out loud...They could also think you used an agent to do the earlier booking...

Gud evening, pls someone should enlighten me on this, my passport will expire next year march and I can't get earlier appointment date except around next Nov to Jan which ll have made my passport expiring date less than 6 month. Now my question is can I use my current passport to apply for visa appointment now and present the new passport (yet to be obtained) at the time of interview as my current passport will be less than 6 months as at the time of interview? On January 20, 2021, President Biden signed a Presidential Proclamation titled “Ending Discriminatory Bans on Entry to the United States.” This ended the travel restrictions under Presidential Proclamations 9645 and 9983 that had suspended entry into the United States of certain nationals, based on visa type, from various countries to include Nigeria. In Nigeria, this proclamation banned entry for certain immigrant visa categories. The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos has already contacted all immigrant visa applicants whose applications were affected and is prioritizing the processing of these pending cases.

Recent media reports claiming “Nigerians denied visas on or after January 20, 2020, can re-apply for free” are inaccurate. The Proclamation announcement applies only to certain immigrant visa cases, and does not apply to tourist, business, student, or other nonimmigrant visas.

Our Consular Sections in Abuja and Lagos are gradually restoring routine visa operations in accordance with COVID-19 safety mitigation protocols. The validity of nonimmigrant visa payments (known as the MRV fee) has been extended until September 30, 2022, to allow all applicants who were unable to schedule a visa appointment as a result of the suspension of routine consular operations an opportunity to schedule and/or attend a visa appointment with the already paid fee.  Nonimmigrant visa applicants who were previously refused and would like to apply again will need to submit a new visa application (DS-160) and pay a new visa application processing fee.

Well, please note that letter of invitation for a non immigrant visa is useless as far US embassy and consulate are concerned. They don't care to check. There is 98% chance that they will not request to see any of your documents. You don't have a job in Naija. That's a red flag. What are you returning back to Naija to do? You are seeing as a potential japa master especially when there's no travel history. Except miracle happens, your profile is not looking good. I am sorry for being blunt.

I want to visit my uncle in the US. He has prepared the invite letter and it states two weeks vacation. Now here are my challenge
1. I don't have a paid Job in Nigeria at the moment my last paid job ended June 2020.

2.No travel experience

3. Although he stated it that he is footing my bills while an there but I might still need a strong statement of account to show that i have something doing here.

4. How do you know the available interview date without paying the 160$ yet as I dont want the money to be tie down.

This I didn't pack the luggage myself has put many people in troubles at POEs. It's important for you to have adequate knowledge of the content of your luggage. Let's be careful folks.

We must not derail this platform from its purpose which is, to educate and assist would be visitors to the US on how to go about their applications without resorting to the dubious agents.

Yes. Different DS 160 Form. Except it's for birthing, documents are not checked at the interview. The interview lasts for maximum of 3 minutes. On rare occasions can you spend more than 5mins.
Just take basic documents but I am 99% sure that they won't be checked.

Guys...I’m traveling to USA in 2 week time. I learnt from my Travel agent that all travelers are required to do a Rapid covid 19 test which will cost another 37k at the airport. Regardless the airline

NDLEA Makes Biggest Single Cocaine Seizure From Individual In 15 Years

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), says it has made the biggest single seizure of cocaine from an individual in the past 15 years.

A statement from the agency on Saturday noted that the seizure (26.840 kilograms of cocaine) was made at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, on January 27, 2021, at about 13:20 pm.

“During the inward clearance of Ethiopian Airline passengers at the E- arrival hall of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, a female passenger by name Onyejegbu Ifesinachi Jennifer, (33 years old), who arrived Nigeria from Sao Paulo, Brazil via Addis Ababa, was intercepted by NDLEA operatives,” a top official of the agency said.

“As a standard operating procedure, all passengers to and from high-risk countries are always profiled using passengers’ manifest.

“It happened that the above-named suspect was targeted. Consequently, she was taken to NDLEA office at the Airport, where her bags were searched thoroughly, and in the process, whitish powdery substances were found concealed inside 16 pieces of duvet contained in her two travel bags.

“Field test was conducted on the recovered substances and proved positive to Cocaine and weighed 26.850kilograms. The suspect who is a hair stylist and based in Brazil was interviewed and she confessed to have agreed to smuggle the hard drug for the sum of Two Million Naira (N2,000,000) only. Although she refused to disclose the names of her associates but she mentioned that she was asked to hand over the drugs to another person. The street value of this singular seizure is put at over N21 billion.”

This is part of a total seizure of over ₦ 30 billion made by the agency within a week.

Another seizure had been made two days earlier (January 25) when a red left-over luggage was declared to the NDLEA operatives as a left over at the E- arrival hall after the inward clearance of passengers on Ethiopian airline.

“Based on information on the luggage tag, the luggage arrived in Nigeria from Sao Paulo, Brazil, a destination classified as high-risk country going by records and trends of arrest and seizures,” The official said.

“Subsequently, the bag was transferred to the NDLEA ‘Legal Seat’ being the administrative office at the passenger terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, for detention. While this was going on, the NDLEA Commander at the MMIA, Ahmadu Garba received an intelligence report of a purported plan to clear a consignment containing hard drug through the Lagos airport. Coincidentally, the details sent matched the bag earlier detained by the operatives at the Lagos airport.

“In a coordinated operation, on January 27, 2021, an NDLEA undercover agent was contacted by one Abubakar Aliyu. Guided by the operation and investigation unit, the undercover agent successfully lured the said Abubakar Aliyu into the cargo terminal of the airport where he was arrested. The suspect revealed to NDLEA operatives that another person was on his way to receive the bag based of the instruction of his sender whose name he gave to be Ikechukwu Eze.

“Shortly after, one Emmanuel Iyke Aniebonam, who was to receive the bag was also arrested at NAHCO. During a preliminary interview by a team of investigators, Emmanuel confessed that he was instructed by one Ikechukwu to receive the consignment”.

The NDLEA official further explained that Emmanuel was again set up to lure in Ikechukwu Eze but rather than showing up to get the consignment, he sent another who said he was mandated to receive the consignment from Emmanuel, and they agreed to meet at Ibis Royal Hotel, a few miles away from the airport.

“A follow-up operation was quickly organised to the hotel, where one Onwurah Kelvin was arrested and brought to the office. The suspect confessed during an interview that he was sent by one Ikechukwu to receive the consignment. Thereafter, the detained bag was opened in the presence of all the three suspects, whitish powdery substances were discovered neatly concealed and sewn inside five children duvets. Field tests carried out on the exhibits proved they are cocaine weighed to be 8.400 Kilograms, with a street value of over N7 billion.”

It was also learnt that on January 24, at about 12:00 hours, one Edosa Christopher was arrested at the passengers screening point of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and subjected to body scan, which proved positive for hard drugs ingestion.

According to the anti-drug law enforcement agency, “the suspect was immediately transferred to NDLEA/JBTF office and placed on excretion observation. Subsequently, he excreted a total of 68 wraps of substance, which was tested and proved positive to heroin. It was also weighed 950 grams.

“During an interview, Edosa Christopher confessed to have bought the illicit substance at the cost of N800,000 from someone he referred to as ‘Paddy’. According to the suspect, he met the said PADDY at Eagle Rock hotel around Ago Palace way in Lagos, where he lodged for a brief stay. Further investigation, however, revealed that the hotel does not exist anywhere in Lagos.”

The NDLEA official who confirmed the developments said the chairman of the agency, Gen. Marwa has commended the MMIA, Lagos commander, Ahmadu Garba and his team for their efforts and for following up on his directives during a meeting with all the commanders in charge of the 36 states, FCT and special commands.

I agree with you 100%. This courier of a thing is a big scam. Ordinarily, courier services within Lagos should not cost more than 2k. This guys collect about 12k. VFS is a scammer. Unfortunately, we don't have a government.

Hi guys, I found that VFS gave a wrong address to UPS. I had to double check if the mistake was from me but it was an error from their end. I have sorted this with UPS and I pray to get the passports in coming days. However, I think we really need to fight this courier being the only option for passport pickup. It doesn't seems to be reliable. They should be able to allow people to schedule appointment for passport pickup instead forcing everyone to use courier. A lot of applicants are in Lagos and can easily go pickup their passport themselves without using the courier.

At last, I got my passport from VFS. The slip from Canadian Embassy says" Your application is still in progress while your passport is being returned to you. You will be required to resubmit your passport if required. "
After 10 months. It's well.

I linked my paper application online. My status is still saying under processing.
These guys are not serious at all.
They held my passport for 10 months and allowed my 1yr Schengen visa to expire earlier this month.
Telling me that you are returning passport to me because I might need it for emergency travel is insensitive to say the least after 10 months.
Well, till I receive my decision envelope sha but I have lost hope and confidence in their process.

I hope that's not what I am getting too. I paid for the courier today. Applied in January

My brother got his decision envelope today. He applied in February via paper route. A note was in the decision envelope that says something like “we are aware that you might need your passport for emergency travel, we have decided to return your passport but we are still processing your application. Once we need a passport we would request that you submit your passport at the VFS office”

Did they treat your application at all or it was returned as sent?
