Any idea whether visa processing has commenced again after the initial suspension? Submitted January 30th. |
tellalexander:Search for Ireland travel visa thread on Nairaland. This thread is for Canadian visitors visa applicants |
Here is the transcript of my visa interview yesterday. VO: Good morning. Your passport please. Me: Good morning. VO: Where are you going to? Me: Rhode Island. VO: why do people cause gbasgbos on USA Non immigrant visa thread on Nairaland? Me: I tire too ooo VO: do you want me to approve your visa? Me: yes sir. VO: Go and appeal to members on that thread to stop derailing the purpose for which the thread was created and allow people with genuine intention to learn how to make great application and have a successful interview. Me: consider it done sir. Me: Run to nairaland to beg on my knees to appeal to everyone to please stop the gbosgbas. Me: run back to VO. Sir, there's peace now in the house. VO: Visa approved. Don't bother to pay the reciprocity fee. Just drop your passport. Enjoy your stay in the US. Me: smile and thank the VO. Left dancing azonto as I walk through the door. That's on a lighter mood. I actually got my visa in January and I have since shared my transcript here. Please let's allow people to learn what they are here for. Share real knowledge if you know anything that can help. I love you all. |
Gurus in the house, I just linked my paper application online. What does this screen shot says about my application. Submitted on the 30th of January

sunkymatete:Can you give detail process of achieving this. I really want to link my paper application too. Thanks |
purplerain1:She should declare. They have access to US database. No need telling lies |
Good day Gurus in the house, I am unable to get free appointment date for assisted self service in Ikeja. Can I change my submission center to Victoria Island? If possible, how do I go about it. Travel date is April 9th. Also, is there any email or phone number through which TLS can be contacted? Please help biko |

YesLadyN:That was the case with my friend on Friday. He got a mail that his application has been refused. He's yet to receive passport pick up message from vfs. I don't know if it's a standard procedure. Gurus in the house can enlighten us |
TimTim01:When did you submit? It means you can come and pick it up. Thereafter, you will see the decision, whether positive or negative. I pray you share good news with us. |
My friend that applied on the 5th of February got a letter today from Canadian Embassy in Nairobi that his application is refused based on his ties to Canada and Nigeria. He did paper application in Naija. That's super fast if you ask me. He has no travel history but works with a reputable company with good pay. |
bigbus:Mixed up. Wanted to post it on Canadian visa thread |
Ok |
opomulero:Very possible. I even entered UK with Bus and exited with Train via France |
Kingston01:Does that mean you linked your paper application online? |
Kingston01:I submitted paper application on the 31st of January. Though I didn't do Biometrics because I did one in 2017. I am yet to receive any information about my BVL. Did you do paper application too and did biometrics? |
Echinedu1:In my own case, I didn't do biometrics when I submitted on the 31st of January because I did one in 2017. I thought they will send a mail about biometrics validity. |
Experienced same error when attempting to check status |
tellalexander:Jan 12th is on Sunday. How's that possible? I wanted to calculate the number of days it took to get biometrics validity |
burk:Congratulations. This biometrics correspondence, is it to confirm that your previous biometrics is ok and accepted or to do another one? I submitted paper application and chose not to do another biometrics because I did one in 2017. |
flourishing247:With 5 kids and successful business |
Gurus in the house, what's the difference between the regular green paper for rejection and this yellow one. My friend was denied today
|

If you can afford it, I will advise you reapply immediately. I met a guy during my interview on January 3rd. He had multiple expired US visa but was denied on the 11th of December, he came back on the 3rd of January and was granted. So, what has changed between 3wks or so? If you meet a different VO, he might be more considerate. |
I had a UCI number the last time I applied. Do I continue to use the number especially now that I am not doing a new biometrics? Should I write the new number on my new application form? I urgently need response. Thanks for your reply in advance |
teebaxy:I think you should fill another one |
TimTim01:Did you just walk in to submit or you booked an appointment? |
tellalexander:Please, did you book an appointment or you just walked in to submit your application? |
Good day, I applied for TRV is 2017 but was refused. Do I have to pay for another biometrics? I want to reapply now as I will be visiting the US in June. Also, for paper route application, is it walk in and submit or prior appointment must be made? |
As requested, here's my transcript. I picked my passport yesterday. VO. Good morning. Me: Good morning. VO. Your passport please. Me: Have it please. VO. Where are you going? Me. Hawaii. VO. To do what? Me: To attend a convention. VO busy checking his system. VO. Where do you work? Me. XYZ. VO. Are you married? Me. Yes. With 3 kids. VO busy checking my passports. VO. Have you travelled out of Nigeria before. Me. Yes. VO. Which countries have you visited? Me. I have visited France a couple times, UK, Netherlands and South Africa. VO scanning through my passport with UK visa to expire in Feb. Schengen visa to expire in Dec 2020. Two Previous Schengen and SA visas. VO. Have you ever been refused a visa by Canada or any European country in the past. (Apparently, he's seeing it on his system) Me. Yes I have been refused before. VO. Which country? Me. Canada in 2017. VO. What happened? Me. I wanted to attend a Convention in Toronto but was refused. VO. Go and pay for your visa. Handed a white slip and pink or so paper to me. Me. Thank you. I went to pay 40700 in cash. Rejection rate is about 90%. I was the youngest among those granted visa as at when I was there. Students visa applicants got outright refusal. So sad. I wish you all good luck. |
davodyguy:Welcome back. Mixed experience in deed. |
Good day all, So I have been following this thread and contributing for a while. I had my interview earlier today. My advise to anyone applying for either visiting or student visa is this, be sure of what you are doing and why you are applying. Lack of composure is one thing I noticed that affected alot of people that got denied. I think the denial rate is about 90% for both visiting and student visas. Elderly people and fairly young people with good travel histories were issued visas. Some elderly people who couldn't present their case very well were also denied. Bottom line, don't go and gamble with N52,900 except you are just trying to get the experience. Examine yourself through your application form. Put yourself in the shoes of the Consular Officer and judge yourself. Those guys don't give a damn. To them, they are applying the rule of their country accordingly. All said and done, visa granted. I have good travel histories though. Schengen, UK, South Africa. Good job as well. Have been denied 2 times in the past. I was asked if Canada or any European countries had refused me visa before? I said yes. Canada. Obviously, he saw it on his system. |
rinzaugustine:52,900 naira. If visa is granted, you pay additional 40,700 in cash right there at the embassy. |
