SOS: My uncle and I are bid to travel on the 12th of this month to UK and Canada. He submitted his passport for through dropbox on the 19th of May, until this moment, his passport has not been returned. What can we do to retrieve the passport urgently?

We have booked hotels in London and Canada. Plus flight tickets.

Sincerely, I just felt that UK is extorting visa applicants. 185 CAD gave me 10yrs Canadian visa. 75k naira gave me US 5yrs visa while 65k naira gave me 4yrs Schengen visa. Why paying 2m naira for UK's 10 years visa? I didn't see the need for such a decision at this time. UK doesn't really appeal to me. I have only been to UK once and spent just 4 days in 2019. Since then, I no get their time.
Commonwealth of Nations needs to make a case for member countries whose citizens require a visa to visit UK. The fees are exorbitant.

The documents will help:

1. Bank statements. They request 3 months statement but I usually submit 4 months.
2. Companies documents.
3. Marriage certificate and children birth certificates to demonstrate home ties.
4. Do another travel insurance in Nigeria. Axa Mansard or AIICO to cover the period of your stay or in excess of the days.
5. Photocopies of all visas and resident permit on your passport. New and expired. Especially visas from UK, EU, Canada or USA.
6. Photocopies of landed properties.
7. Flight and hotel bookings. If possible, pay for at least one night for the accommodation.
8. Write a cover note explaining your business and your sojourn in Naija and south Africa. Mention a few attraction sites you intend to visit in the country you want to visit. Google is your friend in this area. Tourist attractions in.....

I am applying for Shengen visa (France). I have only filled out the basics online but I have not submitted my application. I need assistance on how to arrange my supporting documents.

I basically live in Nigeria and South Africa on one month intervals so I have a South Africa work permit valid for 3 years on my passport.

2 personal registered businesses (In Nigeria)

My bank account has a balance of about 30M Naira (purposely saved for this trip since January) I transferred this money from my business account into my personal account since January and have left it there. there are other inflows and outflows going on in my account but has always maintained a minimum balance of at least 30m Naira since January till date.

I have landed properties (one with CofO and the other have no C of O.

I am married and have children, family lives full time in Nigeria. But they are not going with me on the trip.

I have comprehensive health insurance in South Africa that covers when I am overseas.

Please, I need assistance on how to prepare my documents in a way that it makes good sense and gives low chances of refusal.

Please can I use booking.com to reserve my accommodation using pay at the accommodation option? I don't want to pay for hotel reservation especially when I don't know when I will be travelling. This is for visa application purpose

I need the advice of the gurus in the house. I once had a UK 6 months visa in 2019. I spent only 4 days in UK during my visit. Ever since then, I have not had any reason to apply for their visa. Though, I am a regular traveler but UK has not been on my radar. I currently have these valid visas: USA - 5 years visa, Canada - 9 years and Schengen 4 years. I am planning to apply for 10yrs UK visa. Is it proper and what's my chance? Note that I have used the USA and the Schengen visas.

After passport submission, how long do I have to wait to get my passport back?

I submitted my application on October 6th.
Biometrics: 26th October. Though I have done one before that will expire in 2027 so I opted for another Biometrics.
Received Passport submission request today 9th November.
I just booked passport submission appointment.

Travel History:
Valid USA Visa used in July this year.
Expired unused USA visa
Expired UK Visa.
Expired Schengen Visas.

I never used any agent in my life. I am an advocate of doing it yourself. Be patient and diligent. Check every detail.
I was rejected by Canada in 2017. I reapplied in January 2020. Covid-19 came and that application is still open till today.
USA has rejected my applications 3 times in the past.
UK also rejected me once.
So I reapplied to Canada this year.

Keep the hope alive.

I do have a valid us visa, I applied first for trv last year to speak at a conference in Canada but by the time I received my passport back from the embassy the conference was over so ended up not travelling at all. However, that passport expired in August 2023 so I only had a one year visa valid till then. I renewed my passport this year and wanted to have the TRV just in case I have an impromptu need to travel to Canada so I applied again.

I only attached four documents, my passport, appointment letter from my organization and my valid us visa and a letter stating what I do and that I wanted to travel to see canada. I didn't attach bank statement because it wasn't requested for( Please attach as much as you think you need, I personally just decided not to 😜, everyone's case is different O).

Just wanted to share. This is my second time applying so I sincerely do not have a whole wealth of experience to share on Canada visa process as both times for me were quite simple a d straightforward.


Quick question if anyone knows before I send in my passport? Not sure the yellow paper I got for biometrics last year came back with my passport when I submitted, I can't find it. In which of the column did you attach your invitation letter and a letter stating what you and what you want to do in Canada? I also have a valid US visa. There are only 4 columns for document attachments. No columns for bank statement or other proof of fund, travel history etc. I am using the new application website

Two active Nigerian passports. Since one is allowed to renew his passport 6 months to expiration. Besides, I could only apply for a US visa with a passport with minimum of 6 months validity

How do I handle the passport presentation to immigration officers in Nigeria, Europe and America? Do I have to present the 2 to Immigration guys in Naija and in Europe? When leaving Europe, do I have to present the two?

Yes. Consent letter is required. To be written and signed by either of the parents. A valid means of ID must be attached by the parent.

Hi, I had the same issue with you.
I used transfer, got debited 3 times.
Used card and they said all 2 cards weren’t 3D secured.
Then I proceeded to open a barter account with flutterwave, I made a transfer into the barter account, then I used the flutterwave virtual card, and it worked.
Apparently, seems they want people opening the flutterwave account by force, by fire. Good luck.

Good morning everyone. Please help. I applied for a long stay visa to join my husband in France 5 days ago. On day 4, I got a call from a consulate at France embassy in Nigeria. We spoke at length . He said I didn’t attach a document my husband is supposed to provide at his local government area in France. A memo/letter at OFII office over there. He said my passport would be returned back to me. Later in the day, he called again and said I can apply for short stay. What I need to do is go to the application submission center at lekki with my application letter and tell them I was called and asked to submit , so it will be sent to them at the embassy. He asked if I would be free on Monday, I said yes and he said I should be there by 10am. I am so confused now , I don’t know what to do.

In applying for long term visa, you need to provide documents showing the status of your husband in France vis-a-vis his resident card, letter from the local council stating his house address, his office ID card etc
