Lagos used to be the capital of Nigeria. That pulled people from all other states. They invested and could not leave the investments even after the capital was moved

Moreover Lagos is the gateway to other West African countries . River State is more or less of the last bus stop of southern Nigeria , so the human traffic is minimal.

Also, with and international airport, former stock exchange building, CBN head quarter, etc people have no choice but to come to Lagos to access these institutions.
CBN is now in Abuja, Lagos,Ogun and Kwara are the Gateway to West Africa in Nigeria.

EducationRe: Lagos House Of Assembly Passes Yoruba Language Bill Into Law by bakynes(m): 9:00am On Oct 20, 2017
There is even a law in Britain that you must learn English before you are allowed into Britain.

As much as we are trying to unite all tribes in Nigeria, we must never forget we are different ethnic nations in a big country called Nigeria. So if you are living and schooling in Yoruba Land you must learn the language for integration.

I had a friend back then in the Uni at Abeokuta, who was always complaining all the market women speak Yoruba and he needed me to go with him to the market, if had a course teaching him Yoruba he would have been able to better integrate and communicate effectively.

We won't say because we have English as our official language we will now drop our indigenous languages for English. Even South Africa has adopted all their indigenous languages as official language along side Dutch and English.

They are just deceiving themselves, what of the Bomb dropped on Ebute-Metta Casino in Lagos by Biafran Airforce, my Grand Father's house was just blocks away, my mother told me of how many people died on that day she said she saw skulls on the floor, her little friend of about 12 years old also died who we account for that.

Is like these Biafrans don't know the meaning of War, apart from Soldiers dying, Innocent people will also die. Their fathers lost a war, they now want to prosecute War actors on the other side. they don't have convincing evidence enough to prosecute these men.

What about Fayose? What about Kayode? They are Yoruba leaders. They prayed and hoped for the death of the President. These people say the mind of Yorubas, forget the pretentious dispositions of others. Why is TheNation newspaper now mauling?
Try and have sense,Fayose and FFK are PDP politicians and so they are playing their opposition role well. Don't blame that on Yorubas who voted and still supporting Buhari.
PoliticsRe: 'You Cannot Withdraw Your Surety Until You Produce Kanu' - Judge Tells Abaribe by bakynes(m):
You all have to realize that Kanu broke his bail conditions which is not to be in the midst of not more than 10 persons, the court ought to have even ordered for his arrest a long time ago.

The Judge ought to have also invited the Nigerian Army why they invaded his house without court order, well I don't think the Nigerian Army needs a court order when someone is already building his own army within a sovereign state.

The judge will not even consider Abaribe's lawyer about the Nigerian Army looking at the fact that Kanu broke his bail conditions and even did something far worse.

See mumu IPod all over does fiscal sustainability mean richest states, una no see where Akwa-ibom dey the highest oil allocated state.

The topic simply means the money you have in your reserve how long it can carry you after spending. Some states don't even embark on much projects so they will definitely have more money and little population to cater for.
PoliticsRe: A Bill To Prioritize Civil Servant's Salaries by bakynes(m): 4:33pm On Oct 16, 2017
Funny enough you will never hear, the governors and commissioners haven't received their own pay, it is only the workers.

Best way to deal with the issue of money in this country is for all government transaction to go through the EFCC and ICPC for approval and a time frame should be stated for each approvals depending on how urgent the project is. That way we wld curb the way this Governors spend money recklessly like its their personal money.

Abeg we don argue this thing tire for the other two threads, even articles from Google Search recognize his origin is a matter of controversy whether na Eboe(Igbo) or Eboe (Edo) or Etsako(Essaka) or Isseke in Anambra. Bottom line be say he tried his best to abolish slave trade in Britain.

Confusing matter, but if truly the Nigerian Army took Kanu, I am sure many eye witnesses would have seen them take him.

Nigerian Army did an invasion without court order so definitely they let him abscond so the court has to look at this issue critically, if not for the Nigerian Army, Kanu would have appeared in court.

OLAUDAH means fortune or someone well favored in igbo language.
It's one of those ancient igbo names that sadly modern day igbos have replaced for the "chinedu" and "Chukwuebuka" ones.
Other examples are "Olanna" which means my fathers fortune or "Unoaku" which is house of wealth or gold.
We need to bring these names back
But somebody else said Oladuah means Loud voice in Igbo, you see why everything is twisted.

1. Ikwuano (Equiano)
2. Olaudah (Ola=jewel / Udah = loud/musical).
3. So Olaudah means a loud/melodious/musical jewel
Guy lemme tell you different names means different meaning in different languages. Igbo is a tribe but Igbo in Yourba means Bush or weed.

For the fact his name has meaning in Igbo doesn't make him Igbo, his Testament revieled he is from Etsako a village near Bini Kingdom.

Where is your own source, Equiano said it himself he is from Etsako.

Your muslim anti-Igbo ewedu-dripping mouth can cry to Allah 100 times the truth remains that Olaudah in his book made it very clear he is Eboe (Igbo) without leaving a shred of doubt, he only passed through benin enroute to slavery. We know you this but can't live with the fact that the great Igbo man is being celebrated globally due to your prehistoric envy. Pls die if you want to. cheesy cheesy

Fact number 1.
He translated his name Ikwuano (Equiano) Olaudah (which mean loud voice in Igbo). What does Olaudah mean in Edo or yoruba (as you would like to claim by extension)?

Fact 2
He mentioned 'Esseke' which is a town actually spelt Iseke in Ihiala local government area Anambra of today. I am from Ihiala and today a 45 minute drive from Ihiala will get you into the region that was the old benin empire. You see the proximity? grin

Fact 3
In his book, he mentioned our Igbo for market day as 'Oye' (Orie) 'Ukwo' (Nkwo) 'Ah-for' (Afor) 'Ekeh' (Eke). Where does benin come in here.

Cry till you die, grit your muslim teeth till you quench with hate. Everyone knows Olaudah remain IGBO as every True historian knows. Bitter pill for you right? grin
Mumu cancelling Wikipedia's account of Oladuah Equiano's testament of where he came from, where is your source not just stupid guess work of Eboe meaning Ibo.
PoliticsRe: Oladuah Equiano: Twisted History By Igbos by bakynes(m): 11:23am On Oct 16, 2017
According to Wikipedia he said he was captured from his home town in Etsako in present day Edo state so why are the Igbos trying to claim him. Is it because Edo was spelt an Eboe, now translated Eboe to Igbo.i though you guys said it was the British who spent Igbo wrongly am Ibo . The guy is from Edo state Jare, I was wondering how the name Oladuah Equiano became Igbo doesn't even sound Igbo one bit.

That name doesn't even sound Igbo. His slave master renamed him Gustava so his original name is Oladuah Equiano sounds more Benin if you ask me.
