PoliticsRe: Hon E.J AGBONAYINMA Motion On The Establishment Of GELEGELE Seaport. by bakynes(m): 7:01am On Oct 31, 2017
The FG can barely build any infrastructure these days with all the 80% recurrent expenditures and debt servicing and these ones expect the FG to build a Seaport for them.

Can they not emulate Lagos state that is building a Seaport in Ibeju-Lekki or Akwa-Ibom state that has started work on Ibom deep sea port?

They will wait forever.
PoliticsRe: BIAFRA TWENTY POUND LIE BUSTED by bakynes(m): 6:51am On Oct 31, 2017
I think I agree with the OP here, first of all those banks then we're British owned, the indigenization policy by Gowon came to be after the Civil War which made those British banks now Nigerian banks like Union Bank(which was Barclay's bank my Grandmother worked there)and First Bank, so even if Igbos had money in the bank, those bank were not Nigerian bank so there is no way the govt would have seized their monies.

Second, like the OP said the minority tribes in the defunct Biafra of old Eastern region, none of them have come out to say they lost money in the banks except the Igbos why is that?

Third, how is it possible to go back to Biafra (after Ojukwu asked everyone to come back home) without going back home with money to feed and survive? Biafrans must have withdrew their money in the bank.

Fourth, we heard ojukwu looted the bank branches in the East and collected donations from people, asked people to exchange their Nigerian pounds for the Biafran pounds so how did the Biafrans who came from Nigeria have money to exchange, I thought they had all their money in the Nigerian(British controlled) banks and came home with nothing?

Infact, the story of Igbos lost money in the banks before they left for Biafra was a big sham.

Mods I need this topic on the front page, this is a very serious issue battling our society today, why young men are scared to get married and why the present harsh economy is making women leave their husbands.

Aregbe is smart! A domestic airport like that of Akure and Ibadan has proven that less activity will be done in Osun if they fall for the bait of a domestic airport.
You right Osun is a tourist destination and if they can improve more on that, they can get lots of flights landing at that airport weekly.
RomanceRe: This Year Alone I Have Seen Two Of My Friends Wives Leaving Their Marriage. by bakynes(m): 4:16pm On Oct 30, 2017
Infact this is why I am scared of Marriage, because life is all about ups and downs, I know I will eventually get married because I need a companion and a family when am getting old but this issue of money and women is something else. That's why advice all men never to get too comfortable with women.

You very funny, you are quick to remember the SE is small but forget that Lagos is actually the smallest state in the federation...again, how will you be comparing Lagos and the SE. Even if lagos has more multistorey than Anambra which in all sense I can agree but cant be more than the whole south east.Never!...If more than the whole south west, yes but Lagos can't have more multistorey building than the whole south east.

Again stay on the key word. Multistorey building and not highrise buildings before hediots start misdirecting the argument .
Yes I meant Multi-storey, I thought u were the one arguing Anambra has more Multi-storey than Lagos. We have enough land which is definitely lacking in the SE so we dont need to build multi-storey buildings in the SW, there is still enough lands in the SW to be developed.

You sound like a local, untravelled Yoruba boy who sees Lagos as the beginning and the end. Ikoyi that is more like a district. How many block of flats in festac? Same festac i know or where?you are even talking of 3storey, while Onitsha,Aba and Enugu alone are all commanding 4,5,6 and in some cases 7 storeys. How big is ikoyi or festac? Anyways, i leave you to your ignorance. Who am I to school you?

You wonder why all the big southwest owned estate managment firms are running to the east and south south..

All the jide Taiwos, diya fatimileyin and co and a host of many more firms are in every city in the south east/south.

In the east once you are able to convince a landlord to give you his property to manage, do you know what it means to your account statement?

Travel Mister man. That's all I can say
One Estate in Lagos Called Abesan Estate built by Lateef Jankande (the first civilian governor of Lagos) has over a thousand high rise buildings not to talk of other parts of Lagos so forget about it Anambra cannot have more high rise than Lagos.

Not to forget the East is small so all those building are concentrated in one small space. The South East is only a few kilometres-square bigger than Oyo state alone.

ogbeni Aregbe keep piling up series of debt to the incoming generation that will resume the duties of leadership. government should be tranquility and transparency. not piling up debt in government.
You need to go back to school oh! To know the meaning of Concession. It is not borrowing, the investor runs or build the airport and collect all the money for the amount of time on the contract. To me I don't see anything wrong in it but Osun doesn't need an Int'l airport rather a domestic one.

Ask questions about what you don't know. Fulani Kwarans bear Yoruba names. Their location influenced their names.
If you do some research about Bukola Abubakar Saraki you will know he is a Yoruba man with Fulani ancestry. His forefather was Fulani that married a Yoruba woman and many GeneratIons down the line has made him Yoruba.

Fulani Man +Yoruba wife= Half Fulani/half Yoruba
Half Fulani/Yoruba +Yoruba wife=80%Yoruba 20% Fulani
80%Yoruba20%Fulani +Yoruba= Yoruba.

Lagos was and will still be a No Man's Land... This was established long time ago... the status quo is fast changing and it won't be long before legislative decisions are made and even vetoed by a majority non-yoruba house, every tribe has a collective stake in Lagos, and if any party wants to use the indigenous scheme to edge it over the rest... Then they will have to fight a war for that, till then every other contrary opinion is just noise.
We are still Nigerians aren't we? So every Nigerian has a stake in every state of the Federation, I also have a stake in Enugu as a Nigerian.

I know one day,Nigeria will split up when that time comes we await the War you want to bring to Lagos to snatch it from the Aworis and my people Ijebu.

Habakus:
You listed all these places in Lagos bearing Yoruba names but conveniently ignored the places that have non-Yoruba names.
So it doesn't mean anything at all.
If you're to say the real owners of Lagos, Yorubas would come like a distant 3rd just like other ethnic groups that came to Lagos after it was established by the Benin and foreigners.
Yorubas from other states simply took the opportunity of proximity to Lagos and infiltrated the place.
These are verifiable facts on ground, if you want to search for it devoid of mischief that you're so prone to.
Lagos has indigenous Ijaws, Fulanis, Benins, Igbos and the rest of them who have been living there since Human inhabitation in Lagos. So what exactly makes Lagos solely Yoruba's?

By the way, you can insult and castigate all you want ( at most, I'll click the report button and report your unlearned insolent as.s) , but it won't change a thing about the status of Lagos. it won't stop busses conveying hundreds of people from all over the country to Lagos State every day. Neither would it prevent non-Yorubas from contesting elective positions in Lagos.
Fool better go learn about your history well, the better place of Lagos State today was carved out from the Old Western region with the Colony of Lagos to form Lagos state.

I don't need telling fools like you about the history of Lagos because you have locked up your mind to discredit Yorubas.

But am going to anyway, that place called Lagos was first inhabited by Aworis from Ife, they had problem with Dahomey warriors raiding them so they seeked for the help of the Oba of Benin who ruled a great Empire then and he accepted and sent warriors to help them, the Aworis asked them to stay and rule over them, that was how they named Lagos " Eko " and after three generations, when the king didn't bear a son, a native married his daughter and that was how the Kingship got back to Aworis.

No matter what you say or the Jealousy you feel it wouldn't still change the fact Lagos is Yoruba land.

PoliticsRe: Poverty Rate Of The 36 States Of The Federation Zamfara Top The Chart With 91% by bakynes(m): 7:39am On Oct 27, 2017
They think Osun is poor because of the little allocation they receive but they don't know it's because of the loans Aregbe took to build infrastructures in the state that the FG is paying back. There are more infrastructure construction in Osun than any of the SE state.

I know you with me but we have to be very wary to their wanting to take over Lagos. Especially our Political leaders who are trying to compensate them with positions because of their voting numbers. We must cut their wings to size in Lagos so they will know who owns this Land.

It is you who is yarning dust.

What are you basing your pathetic assumptions on? Maybe on your hatred for hausas? If anyone will take over Lagos, it is the igbos who have refused to accept Lagos is a yoruba state.
Why should we b worried about some Chest beaters called Igbos, people who only knew a place called Lagos after independence.
People who think because they bought a few lands and built houses they now own Lagos as if they are the only ones who buy land in their state of residence.

No matter how cosmopolitan Lagos is which is why it is the biggest State in Nigeria because we welcome everyone from all over the world to make Lagos their home (something the Igbos will never have foresight to do). It won't change the fact that it is Yoruba land.

Op, you're talking about two very different things here; Ilorin used to be a purely Yoruba town, but definitely not Lagos.
That Lagos happens to be in SW geographically, doesn't in any mean that it belongs to the Yorubas. Why don't you go ahead and narrate to us hot Lagos came to belong to Yorubas?
Were Yorubas the first to have a king in Lagos? No.
Was Lagos part of the old Oyo empire? No.
Is 'Lagos' a Yoruba name? No.
No matter how much you shout it, Lagos will still be known by everyone as a no-man's-land.
You hear Places like Mushin,Ipaja,Agege,Ogba,Isolo,Amuwo-odofin, Ikorodu all with Obas and Baales recognized by the State govt with a Yoruba Governor, with Yoruba house of Assembly members that take plenary every Thursday in Yoruba language, Yoruba Civil servants and you still ask stupid questions like is Lagos Yoruba Land? I wonder what those places mean in Igbo language.

Ondo state close to Edo has the longest and deepest coastline in the country and the FG did not build a Port there,so a metro train can transport goods to and fro in 1 hr from your neighboring states Delta and Rivers. If you feel you need a port ask your state government to build one. It doesn't make sense for FG to be building ports everywhere.
