Nairaland GeneralRe: Who Is Seun? by Banderas(m): 3:03pm On Aug 22, 2007
Hahaha. Seun has lots of redeeming features, but his social skills are sadly lacking in some areas. In other words, Seun is a normal human being.
Christianity EtcRe: Roman Catholic Is Not A Church, But A Modernised Way Of Idolatry? by Banderas(m): 3:02pm On Aug 22, 2007
Protestantism emerged as a result of the Roman Catholic Church not adhering to the Bible that it claims it gave us.

That other Churches emerged does not mean that they were severed from the Body of Christ. The Bible the RCC claims it gave us clearly states that there is ONE Body (Eph. 4:4). However, while the Catholic Church has arrogated that verse to herself and claimed that other churches are false, the RCC has not been able to demonstrate their fidelity to the Bible.
I disagree. Protestanism emerged as a result of a catholic King wanting to take another wife, and the pope telling him not to. Enter Stage right, and the anglican church was born.
Christianity EtcRe: Biblical Contradictions: What should we believe by Banderas(m): 2:58pm On Aug 22, 2007
Hmm. I sometimes wonder, when they say "the third day", do they mean it in the same way that the world was created in "seven days"?
Christianity EtcRe: Roman Catholic Is Not A Church, But A Modernised Way Of Idolatry? by Banderas(m): 2:56pm On Aug 22, 2007
You do realise that the current "church" got most of it's inspiration from the catholic church, and is still deeply related to it, ?

ComputersRe: Oracle DBA Corner by Banderas(m): 8:31am On Aug 22, 2007
You need to get the redhat 9.0 version. It's available on the oracle site. It also depends on what version of oracle you want to install.

This is a link to oracle 9i (if you intend to download it) http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oracle9i/htdocs/linuxx8664soft.html

Also check on the internet for ways to install oracle on linux to get information from people who have installed it already. I used this link for assitance when I got stuck

ProgrammingRe: Voice Recording Software Source Code by Banderas(m): 7:47pm On Aug 21, 2007
Source code for voice recording?

Look, I assume you're a hardcore developer. What do you want to use the software for - i.e. what kind of hardware are you using with it (windows and pc microphones or more specialised studio hardware?)

I will be very impressed if someone on this forum has access to such - we have some source in my office, but it won't run on a windows pc, and it's also heavily copyrighted - I could get fired/prosecuted for distributing it.

Let me know your total requirements, as well as what you want to use it for, and I'll see what we can get for you. (if it's some commercial product, the chances are that you'll get a heavy lawsuit)

Christianity EtcRe: Is It Biblical For Christian Women To Wear Trousers? by Banderas(m): 1:19pm On Aug 21, 2007
In other words, sin is cultural - If you live in a culture where it's ok to wear trousers then it's not sin. I guess this is what y'all are saying?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Banderas(m): 1:11pm On Aug 20, 2007
Razorr:
Well. That wouldn't be quite effective. With that keeper I saw yesterday, you would 'dive in the opponent's box' alright, but there'ld also be countless number of divings into your own net as well. Not effective footie if you ask me. grin
Well, you also need to harass the referee thoroughly, and you'll see that on the day when your team (and coach) is being taken to the cleaners by a superior team, it just may pay off. Convert their box into a swimming pool men!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Banderas(m): 1:03pm On Aug 20, 2007
@ Razor, thanks for the keeper offer, but all we need to do is dive in the opponent's box, and we'll be fine. Much cheaper than 25M init?

Christianity EtcRe: So Many Churches, So Much Confusion: How Come? by Banderas(m): 5:40pm On Aug 17, 2007
TayoD:
@Banderas,
It encompasses His ways and His life. There is the Life of Jesus and the principles of Jesus. You need both. While His life gets you eternal life in heaven, His ways makes you pleasing before God and grants you success not only in this life, but a lot of reward in the hereafter!
You do realise that his ways, his life, and his principles are the same thing. I was asking about his person.

Just a thought,
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Engineers Converted 2 "bankers"!? by Banderas(m): 5:30pm On Aug 17, 2007
And why not? The Banking industry hires more people than any other industry. They also want people with analytical ability, hence the preference for engineers.
Christianity EtcRe: Men And Women Don't Pray Together In The Mosque. Why? by Banderas(m): 5:29pm On Aug 17, 2007
PTH:
doyenn, what if a fire ant bites u in the groin? Is allah so difficult that he will cancel that prayer because you had to scratch yourself?

Leave the issue of adam and the forbidden fruit alone, its not in your quran, has nothing to do with islam and is just another attempt to import christianity into islam. The story is in the bible and yet nowhere there do you hear of women being relegated to the background because of the sin of Eve.
Actually that is in many parts of the bible. That was jewish (and by procy, middle eastern) culture, which a lot of people have imported into their "versions" of christianity. That's why some people say women must never be pastors.
Christianity EtcRe: So Many Churches, So Much Confusion: How Come? by Banderas(m): 5:26pm On Aug 17, 2007
I'm curious about one thing, When the bible said "Jesus the way, the truth and the life", was it referring to the person of Jesus, or to the way of life? If it's the way of life, I fear a huge number of christians are in for a great shock.
