Gamine, in addition to what Lawyer said, I'll start by commending your imagination - you've got a good one there. You also have the beginnings of a good story. I however saw some slight punctuation problems in the first prologue: 1 - Through Heaven's eyes 1 - Not in the way - should be not from the way Line 2 - It was the same colour he saw (The same colour as what? This is the first time you're mentioning the color) Line 2-3 Same sentence, two "really"s. Find another word Line 4 - "whose face was as if stamped with a smile?" Not a good choice of words. How about "whose face was frozen as if stamped with a smile". There has to be a look you're comparing to the "stamped with a smile" 2nd paragraph Line 1 Looked at the mother, then they weren't even fair. Who's they? Then there should be a "." after the complexion. Line 3 - the comma after relative should be a "." - you're changing the sentence. Line 3 - Two "and"s in quick succession. Not good Line 4 - "follow her up" is used twice. Try and find another phrase, like "follow this matter up" Depending on your target market, these gliches will be picked up by editors/publishers, and it'll be a shame if your script ends up decorating someone's floor, Also, lawyerchap appears to know quite a bit about these things - you haven't put in enough detail. Obviously we're seeing the entire thing through the doctor's eyes, try and put yourself in the doctor's mind and view the surroundings out of the doctor's eyes. "She was in a drugged sleep" might become "it would take a while for her to sleep of the medication he had given her". But I like it, I like it. Lawyerchap, what's up? I'm working on some stuff as well - more JRR Tolkein than Ngozi Adichie, perhaps you can do a critique for me as well, |
Views, where are you from if I may ask? |
Is this your Gamine? Do you want a critique? |
Chelsea doesn't have a single player in the team that can match Gerrard. Not unless it's one of your new signings. |
Gamine, you don kill cow? You promised to kill a cow if people spelt your name correctly, |
Let's see whether I understand you Jackal Barcelona didn't see a skill, they simply bought a kid because he was ill, even though at eleven he had no skill at all. What advantage is that? Let me guess - they needed somewhere to spend money on a sick child since there's no sickness in barcelona, or anywhere else in europe. I think they deserve a nobel prize for their philantrophy. They also overlooked other good players that had no medical problems, and a similar amount of skill. It doesn't make sense. Thierry henry was spotted at age six. Owen was spotted at 10. It happens. |
Don't blame us for your inability to type out a proper topic, there's nothing about that topic that indicates that you're referring to dull guys. There's no "one size fits all" when it comes to likes and dislikes - if the guy is a traditional african man or a bully, he's more likely to be attracted towards women he can chance, while more cereberal people tend to move towards women who make them think. It depends on what tickles your fancy. |
Ola, sorry, but I'm not sure I understand. The letter seems to tell it all - Go and collect your visa on thursday. What advise would you like from us? |
Men Pajojo, we thank God for saving your life o. |
Those pictures almost made me cry. May God bless you all for these pics. |
Huh? Read the letter, it should tell you. If you want advice, give us more information - what kind of Visa is it, where did you apply, etc. |
SWP? He can't play Chelski's game. And Liverpool's midfield (Sissoko) will flatten him It will be a tough game, any team can win. |
1 - Nigeria has two major cities, Lagos and Abuja 2- Kenya has a slum that's waaay bigger than anything Naija has to offer, despite the fact that Nigeria has at least 5 times the population of Kenya. Don't be selective in your opinions. |
Council flat in Peckham? hahahaah. You know Peckham council (as with most burroughs in the east of London) can no longer give men flats, unless of course you're just coming out of jail, But I get your point. Ali did have one magnificent game in the carling cup as did Baptitsta (who wanted to stay in London), but we can't afford to have a player that has one nice game and then is silent the rest of the season now, can we? |
But Jackal, if he was so good back then, why wasn't he taken as well? Why would Barca buy a player and have to spend money on him, when they could easily buy a similar player with no problems? It doesn't make business sense to me. And again, I am not syaing the guy isn't quality, we all know he is. I just think he is a bit over-hyped das all. |
Muks, if you resemble Gilberto true-true, I'll think twice, We can be phone buddies though |
John - your best bet is for her to come to Naija, and marry you. Then you have the documents, and can apply to move to the UK as a spouse. I don't see you getting any visa, with your criminal record and also because you broke the terms of your last visa. |
Okay ruudie, let's be objective: Would you play Ali when you had Van Persie and Henry? I didn't think so. The times we did play him in premiership matches, he flapped like a fish out of water, and showed little promise. He couldn't hack it, chikena. I won't call him crap - he may change and become able to play better, but he wasn't prepared to wait. Bentdner - He has already showed his ability. Eduardo, we don't know yet, but his form last season and against england speak of promise. Sagna? Ruudie, come on man, you're too much of an astute football analyst to let your passions get the better of you |
Wow, why the sudden hate? Friend, I was merely speculating where you were from. No need to get prickly. Ibifuro - rivers name. Alero - Delta name. I was saying you looked like you were from the south-south. |
Gamine, you resemble person wey dey bear Ibifuro or Alero, (P.S. - you need to go kill that cow sharpish, I spelt your name right) |
Razor, I didn't you complaining the other day @ my place when you were yelling "Bilala! Bilala!!" while we straffed. |
Justgood is a slowpoke! |
You're fatal? |
Hmm. People I'd like to meet: 1 - Jackal. I'll buy him a beer, then take the piss out of Manchester United 2 - Razorr. Sharp mouth. No beer for her, na maltina. 3 - Somne(sp) very good sense behind his posts 4 - Mookie and Loyika. I'd like to see Loyika walking past and say hello, no need to spend time talking with the coconut head. Muks on the other hand, hmmm, |
Azun, say what you want to say, makes no difference to me. Y'all are a fu.cki.ng low-life confra. |
Somze - everyone has ignored the MAJOR stumbling block that Chelski has. also their greatest strength. His name is Jose Mourinho. Man U can afford to lose 5 consecutive matches and come 4th in the league, Fergie's position is untouchable. Same for Wenger, and arguably Benitez. Not Chelsea. The moment your manager falls to peices, your season is going to crumble. Don't get me wrong, I still think Drogba is an amazing player, but he's one player. If chelsea doesn't have Essien, they WILL SUFFER against the top 7 teams. Tevez? West ham? Are you guys okay? These are the biggest clubs in the premiership in terms of club size (traditionally) 1- Man U 2 - Liverpool 3 - Arsenal 4 - Man City 5 - West Ham 6 - Tottenham 7 - Newcastle 8 - Chelsea Of course, chelsea now has it's new fan base, that haven't yet been tested with more than 3 seasons without silverware, so currently, they'll probably stand between 3 and 4. My point is this - West Ham has constantly underperformed. They had the best young team in the premiership, apart from Arsenal, and don't forget that they almost beat Liverpool in the FA cup the season before. West Ham is a big team, lets be clear about that. Tevez - come on guys, he is from Argentina, a country which along with Brazil exports the most footballers to Europe. He wasn't discovered like Messi simply because he wasn't as good. He will NEVER be as good as Man U is expecting him to be, though he will definitely be good enough. Jackal - Define strength in depth, what does that mean? What is your definition of that? Apart from Gerrard for liverpool, there are few positions where there is no cover. Same as Arsenal. And even for Chelsea, I could name 3 people who if injured together will totally end Chelsea's trophy hopes for the season. So nobody has this strength in depth that you speak about. Jackal, can |
Aliko oshi wo? Get your head screwed on right - the richest Nigerian living is Ibrahim Babangida. Chikena. There is NO way that any businessman in this world, not even Bill gates has made more money than Nigeria over the last few years. Babangida had TOTAL leadership of a high income country for a number of years, and people, he licked the platter clean. |
Oooh, how wonderful. You're a genius!! |
Somze - here's my own take. The reality of things is going to set in this season. Liverpool can't win chelski without a fully fit Gerrard. Then again, if Essien is out, things may even out. Sticky I say. Chelsea is going to find this season unbelievably difficult if they continue playing the way they do. They will concede goals, and they won't always score. Lamps is going to underperform greatly this season. Drogba will also struggle - any manager worth his salt has read and understood his game by now. Arsenal - it's going to be one hell of a battle, but sincerely, I don't see them being out of the top two. Manchester United - They will struggle this season ( the word struggle here is used relatively - they will still make the top 4 for sure) Liverpool - In my opinion, they will finish 4th. That is the best they can do. They have an excellent striker, a dodgy midfield, and a shaky defence. They simply don't at the moment have the firepower and options the rest of the top four have. In my opinion, this season is actually going to be determined by head-to-heads, and the resulrs against the upper-mid table teams - (Man City, Newcastle, Portsmouth, to mention a few). These teams are probablygoing to end up being the kingmakers of the premiership. I'd like to see Drogba I think Birmingham and Sunderland are going to stay up. I fear Bolton is doomed. Jackal - as you will see, Tevez is far from the amazing footballer that you think he is. Oh, he's a good player when he gets every single pass, but as part of a team, I sure hope Manure isn't relying on him to perform magic. He's good, but not that good. Anderson and Nani are quite good, but will only shine against the lower teams, any mid-table team will wipe them out (I'd like to see Nani play against Robbie Savage) Also, Bingo, relying on a slip up from the top team for success is not good tactics, as Chelski found out last season, and as Arsenal has shown Manchester United several times. |
Story! Pyrates sail at midnight. I had a problem with one of them back in uni, and they painted a skull and crossbones warning on the wall in my room. Touts. |
Naah, While I agree that Ebue was less than impressive, Hleb has had his best performances playing down the centre. Here's what I think - Fab was unable to get into the game because he didn't have a solid midfield partner - Flamini has passion, but is a bit limited in ability. Abu Diabi or Silva would have covered him nicely. Rosicky was dull. Van P is an excellent player, but he needs another out-and-out striker to support him, he can't hack it as an isolated striker. The defence was fantastic - I have NEVER seen Gallas play so well for Arsenal. The two full backs are amazing - Clichy and Bacary (bakare), what a wonderful find for so little money. |
