I-man, don't count the end of the season before it hatches. Anything can still happen. Manure may end up finishing 15th, behind 14th place sunderland and 2 steps above 17th placed Tottenham who managed to beat the drop (by thrashing Man U of course)
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Banderas(m): 1:31pm On Sep 03, 2007
Hahaha. All the pundits that were hailing Manure are beginning to take Arsenal serious. Did someone mention Neville? I wonder if he can still play a complete 90 minutes. Wingers will run circles around him.

Watch Manure lose. Watch!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 1:27pm On Sep 03, 2007
I-man - we've finished ahead of Manure several times, it's not a novelty. It's no big deal to us.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 1:27pm On Sep 03, 2007
@I-man: Penalty? No, that would be Chelsea (see the liverpool game).

Jackal - Man U? Superior? Why? Does Man U regard Chelski as their own superior?

It's football, it's competetion. I have a great deal of respect for Man U and Liverpool, and somewhat less respect for Chelsea at the moment, but regard them as a superior team? Why?? You couldn;t even handle Citeh, and you struggled to break down Portsmouth.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 12:54pm On Sep 03, 2007
Manure fans are quick to forget. This time last season, you guys were close to the top. Right now, it's not happening for you and you start bitching. Braindead United.

Did you notice that we also have a game in hand?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 11:20am On Sep 03, 2007
Jackal - You're probably right. I do remember him scoring goals last season though. He hasn't done so this season. So you see, people are making comments because a player who is expected to score goals isn't scoring goals at present. Especially when he's on a loan that cost millions,

they sure won't have it easy like they used to, im suprised at the Diarra sale myself, he wasn't bad as a right back, but i never really saw him play in central midfield, Chelsea seem rather vulnerable this season, without Lampard or Drogba i really don't see them doing much, they should thank their stars that the Euro qualifiers came when it did
Is annoying these qualifiers. Just when the premiership is starting to gather momentum then we have a one week break. Gaah!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by Banderas(m): 10:32am On Sep 03, 2007
Nateevs, you're right to a point, but those boys were active in the first half as well, very active. Mr Young was held for a large part by Belletti who could hardly come out and making his usual attacking runs. And Agbonlahor - I remember him turning Terry at least once, and following through with a superb strike at goal, which Cech saved. They were certainly quite active in the first half.

That said, I also remember SWP dancing circles round Agbonlahor when he tracked back to defend.

And your defensive midfield strength (Makalele and Essien) was only partially effective - I think the Maka is nearing the end of his career.

Jackie - you're probably right about the 4-man midfield, I think if Villa had scored before half-time, the results may have been different.
Belletti was certainly a Gem, but for 75 minutes. After that he stopped winning the battle of the wings. He's as fast as Young, but nowhere near as fit anymore. He's also very experienced, and that showed through a great deal.

Drog - he was pretty good as well, but I do agree that them Villa players were absolutely amazing, in effort and in skill.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 10:23am On Sep 03, 2007
Chuck - excellent analysis. I wish Diabi had scored - it would have helped his confidence. And now we have Diarra in our team, another strong midfield player. How the hell did Chelski sell that one? I'm interested in seeing the battle of the midfield when we play Chelsea.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 9:51am On Sep 03, 2007
I saw the game. I was live at the grove. It was LOVELY. And then Chelski lost. What a lovely beginning to the week.

And we still have a game in hand.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by Banderas(m): 9:47am On Sep 03, 2007
Jackal - I actually disagree about the Chelsea midfield. Chelsea actually dominated the midfield - Young and Agbonlahor seemed to play almost as strikers, and for periods Villa appeared to be playing 4-2-4 instead of 4-4-2. The main difference is that the chelsea midfield was all about physical presence, and Reo-Coker is not exactly a pushover, so that didn't work out well.

Also, those two boys on the wing, Young and Agbonlahor were simply too fast for Chelsea to handle, same as SWP was too swift for Villa to handle. Terry was kept out of most of the game by the threat of Carew (That was a major battle in the chelsea defence, and they cancelled each other out).

Razorr - Belleti was effective against Luke young for most of the first half, and a lot of the second, but as I predicted, age started to catch up with him, and his legs could not keep up the chase for the entire game. One nip pass, one cross, two nil to the Villa.

And Cashley was predicting an unbeaten run this season,

The premiership's most expensive 11

Craig Gordon 9.0
Paolo Ferreira 13.2
Ricardo Carvalho 19.9
Rio Ferdinand 30.0
Gareth Bale 10.0
Shaun Wright-Philipps 21.0
Michael Essien 24.5
Juan Sebastian Veron 28.1
Nani 17.0
Wayne Rooney 27.0
Andriy Shevchenko 30.0
Total 229.7

In my opinion, only Essien and Rooney are worth that much so far. And maybe Craig Gordon.

Oga, you didn't compare it to anything. And why would you say a splint is glowing if you were comparing it to an inferno? You just don't get this language at all do you?

IgnoraMus. Get a spell checker.

Loyika - the guy makes me laugh men, he's trying to do some yankee impression, while not being able to even speak proper english. He reminds me of all those funny guys you meet working in the bathrooms, who tell you "Hi ave perfume. Freshen hup init".

We don't need Manure to draw a strong team, weak teams are okay for them (Man Citeh rulez!)
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 3:36pm On Aug 30, 2007
Mate, your punchlines are wack! As dull as a glowing splint? That makes sense to you? Glowing and dull are mutually exclusive. You may as well have dark brightness. But of course this is above your reach.

Cantona retired 10 years ago. I get that wrong and you claim that I started watching football last year. Your mathematics is as dodgy as your english

Micah Richards!!!

yes, we can see the sort of person you are dear sir.

I think you need a trip to Specsavers. That will help you.You want me to prove that Eric was a striker? grin You are having a laugh.[/quote]Uuhh., it's another jackal. Why do I bother with people who believe they hold conversations with dogs?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 2:35pm On Aug 30, 2007
I-man, come on! Why must you start insulting? Mate, if you want to argue, argue and be polite, all this teenager nonsense is annoying. If you say he's a striker, then prove it and I'll withdraw. I'm not a manU fan but I've always seen his play for Manchester United as midfield, and not offence.

What makes all you guys feel that you need to insult people in order to prove a point?

I'm probably older than you. And this is football, not age. I've met teenagers who are walking football encyclopedias.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 2:26pm On Aug 30, 2007
A-40 - I think for the first 20 minutes he was amazing, he couldn't be dispossesed, and his marking was fantastic. And suddenly he fizzled out. I don't think he's yet match fit.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 2:22pm On Aug 30, 2007
Ronaldo's 17 Premiership goals is a record in the history of the Premiership for a midfielder
I-man, that's not quite true. Eric Cantona scored 18 goals in the 93/94 season

Regarding the starting position, this is relative. Peter Crouch wouldn't make the brazillian bench, yet he starts for England. Dwight Yorke would struggle to be mentioned for naija, yet he's the captain of Trinidad.

Jackal - You still haven't told me how your dog identifies the person who scored the goal.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 1:45pm On Aug 30, 2007
Cool. In the same way, last season is over, I refuse to discuss last season with you. We can talk about the present, and I'll say Fab4 is in better form currently. If you choose history, I can also choose another Arsenal player that was in far better form in the past that Ronaldo has even come close to.

You call me weak minded, yet you hold conversations with your dog. If that is a measure of intelligence, then I'll rather not be. And when you said 19 assists, I showed you that Fab4 came close in the premiership. Of course the moment you saw Fab4 came close you tried to change and include goals as well.

You need to learn your ABC, and stop thinking that you can decide for everyone else what to believe.

Apache - no goals yet. Oh I forgot, he's been played out of position.

You can go back to your lengthy football discussions with your dog (You still haven't told me how your dog recognizes who scores goals, I really want to know)
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 1:32pm On Aug 30, 2007
Nope, you didn't mention goals in your previous post, don't change it now. You said 19 assists, so we discussed assists.

If you want to talk about goals, let's talk about this very season, how many goals has Ronaldo scored?

Go and learn this english Oga, there is no place named Phillistine. Unless you want to claim that you come from Nigerian.

It must be a really intelligent dog to know who Henry is by watching TV. I wonder how the said dogs tells the difference between teams,

Hahaha Seun, this your analogy goes the other way as well. If you marry a rich man, you may not like the poor version. And all the poor man needs to is remain poor, and his wife will love him right?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 1:20pm On Aug 30, 2007
My mistake, that was at the grove, not OT.

Learn a lesson from that dear Jackal, learn how to acknowledge your mistakes.

And learn how to use english malfunctioning does not have a period.

Nobody, nobody has ever said Ronaldo is not a good footballer. We have simply said he isn't as good as you claim he is.

2007/2008 season, premiership Assists:

Ronaldo - 14
Fabregas - 13
I think that compares beautifully. And Fab4 is still 20.

Fabregas is a midget

Fabregas - 5'9"
Tevfez (aka Apache) 5'7"
Go figure.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 1:09pm On Aug 30, 2007
Jackal, try and keep your arguments straight. Are you saying because he scored 2 goals in 3 minutes he's a good player? Shaun Goater has run riot against the united defence, does this put him on the same level as Ronaldo?

Finally you agree that it's your opinion. So be it. My opinion is that your opinion is shite, Ronaldo is a good player, and Gerrard is waay better. My opinion is also that in 100 confrontations, Ashley Cole has pocketed Ronaldo in 95.

My opinion is that you always make excuses when your facts fail, and you start abusing people. Maybe, just maybe one day you and I will meet in real life, and then you can inform me to my face that I'm a buncha whatever.

My final opinion is that you really need to get a spell checker.

Last season, Henry scored a sweet goal at OT (I think the colour tubes of your TV are dodgy)
