This stats which I take at face value demonstrates that the Southern part of Nigeria led by the East is showing remarkable progress in Western Education.

We cannot ignore the fact that many parts of the North are proficient in Islamic education and were literate well before most of the South.

Whatever the case, our Eastern brothers are demonstratively leading in Western education. I hope it translates into progressive agenda as it did in the old Western Region.

My brother, I was thinking about the same thing. Though it is true that Africans go through many ceremonies before they hand their daughters over, Igbo go through other investment in their families before marriage.

For Yoruba and Igbo, families from both sides are more involved, making easy divorce difficult. So you are on point here.

What surprised me is divorce rate among those Berber and Arab countries because of their Muslim and Shariah laws. But then our Northern brothers, Fulani are not, carry foreign religions for head than their conquerors. I guess you can say the same about Southern Christians.
