mcTrinity:That's very very untrue! I have the 4kva Prag, it carries my 2 fridges plus a deep freezer, booster pump, gencool air conditioner and my other house loads. My daytime loads cycle between 1.2kw and 3.5kw. My night time loads between 200w and 300w. There's always the overload alarm when I exceed 3.2kw ![]()

Seun:Mr Seun. A lot still need be done to improve content creation here on Nairaland. The current setup can be very frustrating. This is bigrovar. Barezzi my friend is making this post on my behalf because your spam bot has banned me for a post I made. It was a detailed post in respond to one of the newbie who came to this thread seeking help @nene. My post was not in violation of any NL rules neither did it contain anything irrelevant to this thread. It was very detailed and would have helped nene considerably. Unfortunately your spam bot deleted my post and banned me. It's not the first time too. Many a post I have made have been lost to the spam bot and I got a ban for my efforts. It is really really frustrating. The worse part is there is no obvious means of reporting issues of false positive or appealing a ban. No link to forum moderators or how to even reach anyone. You are not active on Twitter even the email I sent I got from my sent items when I sent similar email 2010. I never got an acknowledgement or reply. I have been in this forum since 2007. Never once violated NL rule. With over a 1000 posts many of which are educative and helping to make NL a great community. From Computer Section, Solar thread, Mobile phone, Auto, and Politics. All I and many like me ask for is a better experience at posting. Thanks. |
Saipro:Nairaland has issues. It keeps throwing me out, and requesting i re-enter my username and password. |
babaegun:Kindly share how you achieved this bro. I'm interested. |
You need a battery bank to store twice your total WH(~3000wh × 2)@ max 50% DOD. Discounting system losses, you're looking at about 500Ah for a 12v system. Inverters for the range you've chosen are usually 12v. Such a small inverter may not effectively charge a 500Ah battery bank. Stepping up to a 24v inverter will drop the battery bank requirement to 250Ah. 30A mppt CC and a 600W PV array. |
GeorgeD1:Nice one chairman... Personally, it's cheaper to run the gen for a few hours a year than spend millions building a large battery bank. Especially with such a huge PV array. Your battery bank is okay, i understand the rule of thumb is 100AH for every 1kw array. So for a 7kw plus array, your almost 700Ah bank dey in order. I don almost perfect my plans to rob bank. I wan be like you ![]() |
jazzman2:This captures my points succinctly! |
DMerciful:It's like driving a Peugeot 504 in 2017 cos you don't wanna depart from tradition ![]() Look up "AC coupling" bro, it's a more efficient setup for those with high daytime loads. |
DMerciful: ![]() Na you dey call Micro inverters. I never mentioned it. You CAN connect a grid tie inverter to the output of a bi directional stand alone inverter/charger. This forms a micro grid... So irrespective of what happens to the national grid, the grid tie inverter will still stay synchronised with the stand alone inverter. You don't need NEPA to use a grid tie inverter. |
DMerciful:This is patently untrue egbon... Grid-tie/Hybrid inverters can be used with or without back feeding to grid. It is not the only reason why most folks purchase them. You grid-tie when most of your loads are consumed during the day. The PV inverter converts DC to AC which is then consumed immediately. Later at night, your stand alone inverter inverts DC from the batteries to AC to feed night time loads. The point i'm trying to make is if one has a large PV array, it doesn't make sense to also build a large battery bank. Unless such an individual's night time loads are huge. |
tivta: ![]() Grid-tie to the "AC out" of his bi-directional inverter-charger. This creates a micro grid that the grid-tie inverter will synchronize with. |
Good one GeorgeD1!! I'm still plotting which bank to rob so i can be like you ![]() I understand DC coupling is best for those with huge battery banks and high night time loads. With your huge array, over 7kw, do you think you'll be better served with a small battery bank sized for night time consumption and a grid-tie inverter to maximize daytime usage? |
I love your setup Pranil. If i can lay my hands on a monitoring software like that of Justin Case, I'd be sold... I just love his dashboard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAwG9VtvSGE |
Thanks Pranil, very detailed response. |
Pranil, 1. What's the maximum PV input DC voltage 2. Number of mppt inputs 3. The monitoring software you use? Thanks Battleaxe... |
bigrovar:Egbon, there seem to be a dearth of information concerning the ipowerplus. I have searched everywhere, nothing tangible. Even users are afraid to share their experiences... Lol Abeg if anyone has any info, please share. |
Khassy where e dey hapun? E don tey wey I drink better kai kai ![]() |
Acid battery? ![]() |
That's good news! Hope today's shipment will include what I sent you earlier |
Lmao! See as you dey attack everybody.
|
battleaxe:I think this may address your present dilemma. No DB split necessary, but you purchase for each circuit you wanna control. pranil: |
allCopacetic:This is exactly what i want. How many watts, and price?
|
This is really inspiring. This is what ive been discussing with Bigrovar. With integrity and adherence to international best practices, I see you conquering the African sub region. |
allCopacetic:Recessed... |
Do you have something for staircase walls? |
