You're on point. Don't mind the guy. He thinks Nairaland is a place where he can post poo and get others to swallow it. He's just one biased, sentimental, prejudiced, and stereoptyped pseudo-analyst.

How can a nation prosper when innocent ones are unduly punished? How can a nation prosper when the weak are being brutalised? Anybody could've been in this poor man's shoes. So tell me, where's the security in this country? Security itself has gone in search of safety.
For reasons like this, I wish I were not Nigerian...

zumarock8: ATM is a computer, hence it is bound to make errors, count uR monEy for confirmation
is not illiterate is wiseness SIMPLE
If we all share your kind of mindset, we'll all check soft drinks for dirts after buying them before drinking them, we'll all request to see how neat Mr Biggs kitchens are before buying from them, we'll all check that each page of a brand new dictionary is intact before leaving the bookshop, in fact, when we receive a delivery report after sending a text message, we'll still call the recipients to confirm, when our car fuel meters indicate low fuel, we'll still dip a long tiny stick in the tank to confirm...
Stop thinking like the early man!

ebamma: na naija we dey no be europe,u never can tell wetin naija atm fit do.
Let's continue to hold ATM machines as being 100% perfect as regards money counting so far nobody, even here in Naija, has ever claimed incompleteness of the money dispensed by an ATM. If anybody has ever experienced such, let us know. Until then, we hold on to the view that ATMs are perfect money counters.
PoliticsRe: Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon On Ogoniland Independence Declaration by Basic(m): 11:21am On Aug 05, 2012
Sensible speech needs not contain heavy grammar. It shouldn't contain useless and irrelevant words, just as a piece of drawing shouldn't contain irrelevant lines, and a machine shouldn't contain irrelevant parts. Simplicity begets effective communication. What is your message when, after your speech, people see you as a lunatic? Unfortunately still, all the trash he spoke can be summarised in a single sentence: A SOVEREIGN NATIONAL CONFERENCE WILL SOLVE NIGERIA'S POLITICAL PROBLEMS.

Literature/Writing AdsRe: English Proofreader Wanted by Basic(m): 2:32am On Jul 31, 2012
Sincerely, your price is too meagre. If you can boost it a bit, then I can work for you. Besides, proofreading assignments vary in degree. While some writings require minimal proofreading, some will almost require that you restructure each line. It's all about how good the writer is. Before accepting any pay rates, I'll need to see samples of your writing.
But no matter what, to get quality proofreading services, I won't charge less than N200 per article (and that's even for minimal editing).
If you're interested, contact me through my official online portfolio (see URL address in my signature box below).

I don't know why people like you will not just allow their keyboards to rest if they have nothing sensible to offer. If a tean wins no trophies, is it the players' headache or that of the manager and admin? What trophy is out for contention at this time, which you stated that they should think of winning? Has the EPL started yet? Or is it the Nigerian league they should think of winning? I don't know when fun adventures became an offence. Wouldn't you rather have some sense?

LiteratureYou May Think You're A Writer When You're Not One! by Basic(op): 12:29pm On Jul 24, 2012
A couple of months ago, I posted a notice here on Nairaland, stating that I need some writers to assist me whenever I have some bulk writing projects, which I cannot handle all by myself due to my tight schedule. Expectedly, I got loads of application in my email.
One thing I didn't just find funny while reading through the applications is that, most applicants are not just fit to be called writers, going by the bunches of grammatical, punctuation, and style errors I found in their applications and attached samples. I was forced to conclude that there are very few good writers in Nigeria. Of all the applicants, I could only manage to work with 1 or 2 of them. And as for those, I could't even risk sending their writings directly to my clients without taking my time to edit and proofread their work.
One thing I've come to realise is that, most people think they'll make good writers simply because they're good speakers. No, they are different. Writing requires training. Punctuation alone takes time to master, let alone other aspects. Of course, when you speak, you don't mention punctuations. So, you won't know you're very poor in your usage of punctuations while writing.
I used to write badly before too until I met a client of mine who was a world-class writer. Yes, a graduate of a writing school in Connecticut. He groomed me, taught me, inspired me, and helped me improve my writing. Now, with confidence, I've raised my charges and my clients aren't complaining. In fact, when I look at the articles I wrote long ago when I just began writing, I find it hard to believe that I wrote those articles. Even though, then, I looked at myself as a "good" writer.
Fellow writers, you don't have to bag a degree in English or journalism to excel as a freelance writer. You do not need to have a vast vocabulary (in fact, my clients, most of whom are Americans, would complain when I use big grammar).
My advice to every aspiring writer is to get closer to editors, and experienced writers. You'll gain a lot this way.
Personally, I can assist anyone who wishes to have his/her writing assessed. I'll scrutinize and check for errors, then send tips to you on how you can improve your writing. In addition, to interacy with other writers, you can search for the facebook group with the name "FREELANCE WRITING TIPS" and request to join. I'll accept your request as soon as possible.
If you need my assistance in any way, I'll be willing to assist (no charges). Just check out my blog, the link to which you'll find in my signature box below, and reach me via my contacts page.
Becoming a writer is not hard. With some determination, openness to criticism, and practice, you'll get there. The web is constantly in need of people like you. Yes, every website has a text content. Content rocks! Content is king!

PS: Don't mind any errors in my writing. I wrote this on phone while in school, during a practical session. So, I couldn't edit before posting right away.

BusinessRe: Jaiz Islamic Bank To Raise More Capital by Basic(m): 11:21pm On Jul 08, 2012
rhymz: hey you, whatever you call yourself, you are an ignorant eeediot that knows nothing about what is being discussed.
If you think in Britain islamic banking has laws different from Britains traditional Non-banking regulation then you must be high on Sanusi's fart.
Britain's Central bank does not have any sharia supervisory council comprising of muslim experts on sharia laws regulating the activities of Islamic banks, that is left to the discretion of the islamic banks.
Also, the principle of their non-interest claims have been shown to be unrealistic, little wonder pakistan for instance where islamic banking is heavil practised and has constitutional backing to operate as the country's conventional banking laws, its failures have repeatedly been exposed to the point they had to resort to all manner of naming antics to charge interest from clients.
For instance if Client A wishes to buy a house of 100k, the bank buys it for client A and mark it up to say 120k before selling it to client A who pays in monthly installment until he pays off the whole 120k before becoming the owner. Now tell me, the 20% mark up charge what is it? Abi na dash una dey call for your village? My guy shut your frigging mouth before I expose the fraud in your so-called islamic bank. . . . I obviously know a lot about it than you do so sharrap.
Then you must be talking of another Islamic banking. Probably the one you invented. Show us links to your claims, Professor of Islamic banking.
Hmmm.....its true o!!! I gbadun your logic here. U r very brilliant. I heard that since Islamic bank of Britain has been in operation in the UK, Britain has been gradually islamised. Infact, its totally islamised now. Even the financial experts at the World bank, ACCA etc who have lent their voices in support of islamic banking have been islamised too.

Brother, God gave you a brain to think. Show your appreciation to Him by making good use of it always.

Peace.
Do you mean a country called the "Islamic Republic of Britain" now exists in your own geographical atlas of stupidity?
You just gave me another reason to admit that common sense is not common!
