Foreign AffairsRe: Uruguayan President Donates 90% Of His Salary To Charity by Basic(m): 4:13am On Sep 27, 2012
There's no big deal in whether or not a president donates his salary to charity. What really matters is whether or not he's delivering to his people.
No rule has made it mandatory for presidents to set aside their salaries for charity. So, it's really no big deal.

Now, I think it's high time Seun subjected to public opinion, the transfer of topics to the front page. It's getting more and more trashy these days.
I think we readers should vote and decide topics to be moved to the front page, not the mods!
I've also noticed that some topics made front page simply because either the OP or commenters have posted a "moderator, please move this to the front page" request.

OPEYEMI AD: How many times this thread will reach front page? Is like MOD is.............
And who says a great post like this cannot make the front page 10 times? I'll prefer seeing this post everyday on the front page to some trash like "Omotola eating popcorn", "Tiwa Savage pounding yam", "Obasanjo dancing azonto", "Jonathan skipping rope", "Could this be Genevieve's daughter?", etc.
FamilyRe: Touching Lies Mothers Tell Their Children by Basic(m): 2:56pm On Sep 25, 2012
And upon all these, you'll see some cursed children who are rich but won't take care of their mothers. And when such mothers die, these cursed children buy caskets worth millions of naira for the burial.

PS: Add enough proofs to show that your business concept is genuine and not a scam. I'll take my time to protect the credibility of the blog, by scrutinizing thoroughly the authenticity of any business concept presented.
So, if you've got nothing but scam, stay clear of this!!!
AdvertsSubmit Proven Business Ideas by Basic(op): 11:45am On Sep 23, 2012
Hi NLers,
I'm starting a blog on the various avenues of making money in Nigeria - online and offline.
However, I'm a freelance writer and freelance writing is the only business I can explain to people in-depth.
Now, I need input from gurus in other businesses (legitimate). Kindly send me tutorials on how newbies can get started plus other vital facts worth knowing, like start-up capital, challenges, etc. All details must be given (not "call or email me for more info"wink. Of course, the project is meant to help enlighten others.
Send the tutorial/guide to me via email. I'll edit it before posting. Note that I'll add your name as the author's name. Also, you must be ready to respond to questions from readers concerning the business concept you're introducing.
If you can't give full information away for free, or you'll withhold some vital information, please do not bother.
My email address is:
basicfreelance(at)gmail(dot)com
Before you send me your tutorials, please reply this thread with the business you want to introduce. This is to avoid receiving two similar tutorials from different volunteers.
If you have a blog/website, you can add that to your entry as well. I'll add it as a way of promoting your blog.
Wouldn't you rather help others to succeed?
WebmastersRe: Opportunity For Webmasters: Make Money Like Never Before by Basic(m): 6:47am On Sep 23, 2012
OP, if you believe strongly in your idea, why not help other this way?
I'm starting off a new blog on the various ways through which Nigerians can make money - online or offline.
Can you write a nice post on the whole SFI concept? I mean explain to people how it works and how to go about it.
You can send me the post via email. I'll edit and then publish in your name. You're free to add links to your blog or website if you wish.
But you must be available to answer questions asked by readers right on the blog (and not that they'll have to call you).
So, what do you feel? If you're interested, contact me via:
basicfreelance(at)gmail(dot)com

Now, I can see some comments from the school's haters. Who's fault was it that you wrote JAMB 5 times all because you wanted UNILAG, but still couldn't?
Whose fault was it that you went to Polytechnics and not universities? Please stop displaying stupidity here.
And to the f.o.o.ls who are still ranting the "MAU..." name, even your president failed to impose it. So, if you hate UNILAG, when next the school records a plus, go and hang yourselves!

LiteratureRe: Would You Allow Ur Friend To Marry Ur Wife After U Divorced Her? by Basic(m): 11:02am On Sep 19, 2012
Stop saying things about which you're ignorant. The fact that some people really did it doesn't make it right.
Truly, in Islam if a man divorces his wife permanently, the wife no longer becomes lawful for him to marry unless she's married and divorced another man.
In the Quran, Allah said "another man", and not "his friend".
And note that it MUST NOT involve any connivance whatsoever, as this is a grave sin. A man can only marry a once-divorced wife if and only if she married another man and then divorced him, without the previous husband playing any role whatsover to doctor things in his own favour.
According to Islamic scholars, even if a man arranges that his wife marries another man for the purpose of making her lawful for himself again, that still does not make her lawful for him.
So, if your story is true, the man involved is an ignoramus, a sinner, a transgressor!

WebmastersWhat's Your Blog's Page Rank? by Basic(op): 4:44am On Sep 19, 2012
Hi NL Bloggers,
Out of curiosity, I'll like to know how well Nigerian bloggers have been able to build their page rank.
So, state your blog address, and let us know what your blog's current page rank is. Also tell us what you blog about (i.e. your niche).
Okay, let me start from my own end. On my blog (basicfreelance..com), I share tips for blogging success, especially those which involve quality content. The blog is still very new; it has a PR of 0 for now.
So, your turn...

LiteratureRe: English Speaking Versus Writing, Which Is More Difficult? by Basic(m): 4:30pm On Sep 15, 2012
Writing is far more difficult than speaking. Punctuation alone takes time to learn. When you're speaking, you don't add "comma" or "full-stop". But in your writing, you must show how well you can use punctuations.

filigees: i would be happy to get honest criticism from you. You can visit my blog i wont even lie i'm a real amateur and i"m very guilty of breaking punctuations and spacing rules but since people are visiting and commenting i must be doing something right, right?, do reply

http://mythotsonpaper..com/
From what I can deduce from your most recent post, you'll have to learn extensively on the use of punctuation, as you made many punctuation mistakes. But you've got fine grammar - not perfect though!
I advise you to download "The elements of style by J.R. Strunk". You'll get it for free online (just Google it). It's a concise but very helpful book for writers and editors.

Cuddlemii: @op, you did not space your write-up.

It is very important to space your write-up to make it easy for the eyes wink

When you are marketing a brand, you must ensure you conform totally with it, no careless mistakes!
Sorry, did you read the whole post? I stated clearly the reason for the spacing and other errors - I typed the whole thing on my phone and I couldn't edit!

So far, the best Nigerian freelance writer I've come across is the author of this blog:
www.naijawriterscoach.
Even without any editorial scrutiny, his writing is just stellar. I'm not promoting him here, but I'm just telling you that he's a very good writer. Interestingly, he shares on his blog, tips on how to write well. Check out the blog, and see it for yourself.

nchewi: @OP! I disagree with u!! Punctuation n all that, doesn't make one a bad writer! It provides a market n job for people we call editors n proof-readers!!
The word "writer" is ambiguous. U may be referring to novelist as well.
Editors are meant to rectify mistakes that are usually pardonable. That's why they must have keen eyes. As for a goood writer, even if your writing isn't perfect, only a professional writer or editor should be able to see your mistakes, not the layman.
If average level writers and laymen can pick errors in your writing, then it's not good enough and you need to work on it.

chipmunkey: We all know the BH sponsors. It`s an open secret.
By speculation, or by prejudice, or by make-believe? How exactly did you know them and who are they?
PoliticsRe: Cleric Gives List Of Boko-Haram Sponsors To David Mark by Basic(m):
If, at the end, Buhari is vindicated, those who swallowed the speculations, without any concrete evidence, that he's a BH sponsor should bury their heads in shame.
I'm not a Buhari fan, but I'll never allow my hatred for anyone to tempt me into believing every false tale about him.
I challenge those who link Buhari to BH to provide concrete evidence to that effect. By "concrete evidence", I mean authoritative proofs. Newspaper pages or web pages on authority sites should suffice. If you can't provide any, then you're certainly being unjust, and this country will never develop if she still contains more of people like you!
Now, I'll simply ignore insults and take those who hurl them, as responses, to be brainless humanoids. Only concrete evidences, which I'd demanded, are welcome as rational responses.
