An Assistant Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Abayomi Shogunle has declared a Yoruba Woman wanted after she appeared in a viral video stealing at a party.

Just some few days back, the video of the woman surfaced on the internet and she could be seen pilfering some party items and stuffing them into her bag while at a party.

Although, the video appeared staged as some social media users suggest, the Senior Police officer in Lagos has declared the woman wanted.

He wrote on Twitter:

WANTED PERSON Please help me find this Yoruba woman. If your tip leads to her apprehension, I have a cash reward for you.

The officer was however castigated by some of his followers over the use of the word Yoruba Woman as well as the way he personalized the arrest. The post was considered tribalistic by a user who expressed his dissatisfaction over the officer's use of the phrase.

Some of his followers questioned his integrity and on what grounds is he making the arrest. As a Police officer or as a Private Investigator?

The New Agenda for Positive Change, a civil society organization has taken a swipe at the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for reportedly holding a strategy session with members of his team in Dubai, UAE.

The Dubai meeting had in attendance, Atiku’s running mate, Peter Obi and the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Also in the meeting were ex-Ogun Governor, Gbenga Daniel, ex-aide to former President, Reno Omokri, Bayelsa East Senator, Ben Bruce among others.

Reacting, however, the group said the development was a sad reminder of Atiku’s extravagant lifestyle.

Raymond Clarke Amuna, President of the group, said the development was an indication to his dangerous tendency to hand Nigeria over to foreign interests, with Dubai being his latest preference.

Amuna in the statement challenged the PDP candidate to explain to Nigerians how he intends to run a domestic-oriented economy for the masses with the kind of lavish lifestyle of taking his strategy team with over 400 members to Dubai.

He warned that a vote for Atiku would definitely signal a return to the era where even bottled water is imported into the country and Nigerians will again be conditioned to believe that only things that are foreign are good.

According to him, “Each time Atiku Abubakar considers slinking to Dubai he should be mindful of how the opulence of the desert city warps his sense of proprietary. He has never returned from his Dubai trips lucid enough to accept the reality in Nigeria possibly because his guilty conscience pricks him to know that the PDP could have done better for Nigeria in its 16 years of misrule.

“There are various exotic venues in Nigeria that he could have used and have members of his team spend money to boost the local economy but he decided to expend his N20 million annual income in ferrying Peter Obi, Secondus and other clowns in his circus to Dubai for the strategy session. It is therefore not surprising that his team issued the statement castigating the government for planning to use the proceeds of privatization to fund the national budget.

“The first thing of note is that Atiku Abubakar, a onetime Vice President (1999 to 2007) and by default the Chairman of the National Economic Council (NEC) at the time, was the originator of privatization or in layman’s term selling government owned enterprises, businesses and assets. It was under him that the chant of “government has no business in business” or “government is incapable of managing businesses” first gained ground and have remained a part of our collective psyche today.

“This is why even as the nation continues to explore the diversification of its revenue source under President Muhammadu Buhari, people have been conditioned to the point that no one is thinking of creating enterprises that will address unemployment and revenue sources simultaneously.

“Secondly, Atiku Abubakar spoke from experience. He is not sure that the national assets in question would be allocated to him and his cronies as it was done under his watch when he held sway over the privatization of most of the country’s assets.

“He is therefore definitely waiting until such a time when he is certain that he can acquire the same assets for pittance. His media organization ranted on about how the assets to be sold were built by the PDP without being able to list a single one of them, which implies that the PDP candidate is claiming what he did not achieve.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hired Brian Ballard, a top US lobbyist, ahead of the 2019 elections.

The influential lobbyist has President Donald Trump as one of his clients. Politico Magazine, a top publication in the US, says Ballard is closer to the US president than perhaps any other lobbyist in town.

“He’s parlayed that relationship into a booming business helping clients get their way with the Trump administration — and his clients and even some of his rivals say his firm has a better grasp of what’s going on in the West Wing than almost anyone else,” the magazine said in a report.

“Ballard was one of the top fundraisers in the country for Trump’s campaign and continues to raise millions for his reelection campaign. Wiles, one of his top lieutenants, ran Trump’s campaign in Florida and delivered the nation’s biggest swing state to the president.”

Documents seen by TheCable showed that Nigeria’s main opposition party has agreed to pay $90,000 (N31.5m) to Ballard on a monthly basis throughout the duration of the contract.

TheCable understands that the contract which was signed on September 21, 2018 is for a year, meaning Ballard would rake in close to N400 million from the deal.

Supporters of an imprisoned Shiite cleric on Wednesday said they had begun burying dozens of people they say were killed in clashes with the Nigerian security forces.

The Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) said 49 of its members lost their lives since Saturday, contrasting the military's official death toll of six.

The army and police fired live bullets at crowds who marched near and in the capital, Abuja, protesting for the release of IMN leader Ibrahim Zakzaky, who has been in custody since 2015.

In Mararaba village, in Nasarawa state just over the border from the Federal Capital Territory, mourners gathered in preparation for the burial of 20 victims.

AFP reporters counted the white-shrouded bodies, as IMN members and tearful family members of the deceased gathered to pay their final respects.

"These are the victims the Nigerian Army attacked on Monday at Kugbo security check point on our way to Abuja," said IMN member Abdullahi Mohammad Musa.

The group's spokesperson, Ibrahim Musa, said separately that another burial for six people was held in the northern city of Zaria.

"We are feeling bad, we are feeling wronged, we are oppressed," he added.

Jakarata has demanded to know why Saudi Arabia didn't give prior notice of the execution.



Ms Tursilawati, who was working in the city of Ta'if, was found guilty of killing her employer in June 2011.

Indonesian President President Joko Widodo called Saudi Arabia's foreign minister, Adel al-Jubeir, demanding to know why Jakarta had not been informed about Monday's execution of mother-of one Tuti Tursilawati.

It was the fourth time in three years that Saudi Arabia had failed to notify Jakarta before executing an Indonesian migrant worker.

'We have called Saudi Arabia's foreign minister and conveyed our protest,' Mr Widodo was quoted as saying by the office of his cabinet secretary.


Indonesian advocacy group Migrant Care said in September that Ms Tuti Tursilawati had been defending herself from being raped.




The Saudi ambassador to Indonesia had been summoned to discuss the matter, the president said, but the Saudi embassy in Jakarta did not answer calls seeking comment.



'The kingdom of Saudi Arabia has ignored principles of human rights, including a right for everyone to live,' said Abidin Fikri, a member of Indonesia's parliament.

By Monsuru Olowoopejo LAGOS—AHEAD of the 2019 general elections, President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State and the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday, collapsed their campaign teams, floating a new group, Independent Campaign Group, ICG.

The groups, which harmonized their structures were the Buhari and Osinbajo Campaign Support Group, BOCSG, Ambode Mandate Support Group, AMSG and Babajide Olusola Campaign Organization, BOSCO.

Specifically, the groups were collapsed with the aim to involve all members of the party in the activities leading to 2019 election.

ICG, it was learned would be led by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s former Chief Detail, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, who was until the merger, Director-General of BOSCO; while former Lagos West APC Vice chairman, Cardinal James Odunbaku, would act as his deputy.

Others on the list include, former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State, Mr. Moshood Salvador, who was named as Assistant Director General from West Senatorial District; Wahab Alawiye-King, will serve as Assistant Director General, Lagos Central Senatorial District, and others.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said it will require more than one election cycle to fix Nigeria and deliver the promised change.

According to him, the change promised by his government was not an event but a process and it would, therefore, require time to deliver.

He urged Nigerians to re-elect him for another term of four years, promising that the fruits of the efforts he had made in fixing the country in the last three and a half years would soon begin to manifest.

Speaking yesterday in Lagos at the 75th anniversary business lecture of the Island Club, Buhari also debunked the argument that Nigeria lacked institutions, and said the claim was one of the “hyperbolic expressions that fly around these days.”

The lecture titled, “Nation building and institutional development, lessons for Nigeria from the Island Club at 75,” was delivered on his behalf by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola.

Buhari, who is the grand patron of the club, recalled that unlike now, there was a time when the club held its major events in the open air because it had no hall and could not afford one then.

“It took more than one term and one election cycle of the Chairman of Island Club to build this hall just as it will require more than one election cycle to build the nation and deliver change,” the President said.

He stressed that the fact that the Island Club had existed for 75 years had put a lie to the claim that there were no institutions in the country.

This, he said, was another lesson that the nation had to learn from the club’s 75th anniversary, stressing that the fact that people expected more from the existing institutions did not mean that the institutions did not exist.

“The process of change and reform did not happen because Island Club did anything; it happened because people, members of the club, and I believe, non-members, who were men of goodwill, chose to act,” he added.

Buhari said he had put the country on the path of food security by banning the importation of rice despite opposition by vested interests, who frustrated earlier government food security policies such as Operation Feed the Nation and the Green Revolution.

As a result, he said, his administration had produced millions of rice and wheat farmers, adding that his vision was to industrialise the nation’s food sector.

Buhari said under his watch the manufacturing sector had made progress, citing recent statistics by the National Bureau of Statistics.

Buhari said his reforms in the power sector had led to improved power supply, which had rubbed off on small-scale businesses.

“It is because of these small business owners, hard-working Nigerians that I am offering myself to serve for one more time,” the President said.

The Youth Leader also said that it has petitioned the German, United Kingdom, France governments and the Common Wealth of Nations on what it described as the anti-democratic activities of the Buhari-led government.

In a statement by the Secretary of the PDP national youth leader, Mr. Okah Ewah Edede, the party said the national youth leader “had visited the Ambassadors of UK and Germany where he presented them with a petition on the ongoing political intimidation, harassment, forced disappearance and gross human right abuses being perpetrated by the APC-led FG against the opposition.”

The statement said the National youth leader also played host to official’s from the US Embassy, led by the political officer of US embassy ,Mr. Franz Seitz, in his office at the party Secretariat on Wednesday where he presented a petition detailing “series of illegal and anti-democratic activities of the Buhari-led APC government including forced disappearance, gross human right abuses and the transformation of the police into a political hit squad to the US government.”

He said “the US government’s representative assured the PDP national youth leader of the White House’s consideration of the party’s petition.”

According to him, “the quest was to simply get the international community to exert pressure on the APC-led federal government of President Buhari and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct free, fair and credible elections in 2019 and to respect the rule-of-law.”

The PDP national youth leader reiterated the position of the party and that of it’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar “to run issue-based campaign and to uplift the situation of Nigerians if elected into power in 2019.”

The statement also said that, “the PDP national youth leader is billed to meet with key members of the international community including the UN, EU, Commonwealth of nations, AU, France and others in his quest to alert the world and world leaders of the ploy by APC to use State powers to oppress the opposition further as the general elections approach.”

Very obvious that the flat heads of these east people does not allow thinking at all. I wonder what is USA to Nigeria? ....and who made USA master over Nigeria's destiny. A family has raised an alarm and is seeking for public assistance with help in locating these twin sisters who were kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

It was gathered that the young ladies identified as Hassana and Husaina were abducted by some hoodlums recently in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara state and are yet to be seen or heard from till now. 

The family has notified the police of the girls' abduction and is asking anyone who has any information that would help in finding them to report to the appropriate authorities. 

Some months ago, about 15 persons were kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara state.
