Who said Enrique played a replica of Guardiola's side? They still played Possession football. Now you know.

Finito.
The argument was about ticki tacka not just possession football. Good night and God bless.

The bolded clearly states that Barcelona kept the ball under Enrique, signifying they were still keeping on to possession. The difference was the transition to attack which was done at a faster rate. It is not saying Barcelona was no more a possessive side under Enrique.

Yet their possession stat was dropping every season for the time he was incharge. Enrique is a direct kind of manager.

A team having an average of 61.9%, is that not a possessive side? So what are you arguing?

Ticki tacka is a different kettle of fish altogether.
In my initial post, I said Barca didn't play ticki tacka enroute their last champions league winning campaign under Enrique. The fact and figures support my claim.
Luis Enrique is a more direct and counter attacking coach than ticki tacka.

Barcelona set a playmaking benchmark against Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday, attempting more passes than any side in a game in Champions League history.

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen set a new passing record in La Liga after completing 51 of his 62 passes against Athletic Bilbao.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.goal.com/en/amp/news/barcelona-pass-masters-break-champions-league-record/1i1d2r8rfdnfp1ryo91lbakygu

This stat is the koko.
Barca under Luis Enrique yielded more possession to the opposition. A total departure from the Guardiola and Tito Era.
I have pointed you to a revealing article by fourfourtwo to get better information.

Such factors have led to a general loss of control. Barça have gone from a possession average of 65.3% in Luis Enrique’s first season to 62.9% in the second and 61.9% in the third. It has also meant that, out of their top 10 passers in La Liga this season, seven are defenders. Busquets, in particular, is used less: he averaged 93.3 passes per 90 minutes under Vilanova, but has gone from 80.1 to 75 to 72.7 under the current regime

How has "Lucho" (Luis Enrique) arrived at the precipice of a possible treble-winning season?

The basic principles are still the same: Barcelona play possession football with the ball on the deck and produce some of the finest individual moments each and every weekend. They've averaged 69 percent possession across 36 Liga games this season, per WhoScored.com—the highest in Spain and indeed the second-highest in Europe (Bayern average 0.5 percent more)—and utilise a base 4-3-3 formation, as is Barca tradition.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2463053-complete-analysis-of-the-new-look-barcelona-under-luis-enrique.amp.html

Barcelona under Enrique was second highest in Europe behind Guardiola.

This was reflected in the passing figures. In their title-winning season under Vilanova, in 2012/13, the seven Barça players with the most passes per 90 minutes in La Liga were all central midfielders. The highest averages were hit by Xavi (118.2), Thiago Alcantara (111.9) and Andrés Iniesta (96.3). After those seven came full-backs Dani Alves and Jordi Alba.

That's all changed under Luis Enrique. Barça now keep the ball longer in defence, then find the forwards directly. Messi and Neymar drop deeper to create attacks, while the midfielders move higher and wider and see less of the ball.

Such factors have led to a general loss of control. Barça have gone from a possession average of 65.3% in Luis Enrique’s first season to 62.9% in the second and 61.9% in the third. It has also meant that, out of their top 10 passers in La Liga this season, seven are defenders. Truth be told. Onyekuru looks 19/20 in that picture.

Remo stars should be banned and ducked points. According to eye witness reports, it was Kunle Soname himself, the club proprietor who lead the thugs to the dressing room to beat up the refree.

A privately run club like Remo stars should set example and run like a model outfit.
Apparently, Remo stars lost their minds because of an offside call ( correct decision) which went against Remo, denying them a goal in the first half.
Will Soname bring thugs to beat up a ref in Portugal if a decision went against Fierense?

Hopefully, the Nff gives him a lengthy ban from stadia across across the country and also he should be suspended from all football activities and probably he must do time in a maximum prison to serve as detergent.
Gangsters like him shouldn't be at helm of sports in the country.

People praising yahoo boys, especially young people have no idea the costs and effects their criminal activities have on their future and the next generation of Nigerians.
Most buisnesses have blacklisted Nigerians. Online payment gateways such as PayPal don't accept Nigerians. Clickbank, Upwork, name it have blacklisted Nigerians.. Obviously, more will follow.
As a result, Nigerian youths can no longer key into these global expansion.
Imagine, the alienation the next generation of Nigerians will suffer if we are having it this bad already.

So CAF did not consider the relevance of Players' international duty performances like the World Cup and 2019 AFCON Qualifiers? Then they should scrap CAF and let UEFA govern football in Africa since they only consider the Clubs they play in.

No Africa team made an appreciable impact at the world cup. I won't be fair to judge players because they played 3games in Russia. Even when those games were mediocre by all 5teams who represented Africa.

In the advert I quoted, the guys promised to teach students animation and modelling in 4 weeks, that will be a world record.
Ordinarily, this is a 3yr course in most art schools in US and Canada.
Even in 3yrs, the student will have to specialize a particular discipline.

For instance in modelling alone, you can specialize either in stylized, organic or hard surface modeling.
This is in absence of various other disciplines such as texturing, lightning and shading, rigging which are full courses on their own

How someone can promise to o teach you all these in 4 weeks just like advertised is akin to someone promising to make a student a medical doctor in 4 weeks.
Nairaland should do something to shield the public from these scamers.

It is his choice. Money or football. If Nacho wants to make something out of his career, he can change his course, take a reduction in wages and work towards playing in a better system.

I do not spend time criticising. I try to find out what is wrong and point out a solution.

I hope Nacho makes the right decision and get himself in an offensive creative side. That is all.

I don't think Leicester City will stand in his way if they get a bid for him. Obviously they will struggle to recoup the money invested in him but they won't stand in his way.
Question is, which ultra offensive team will be on the look out for Nacho? With lots of young players with an upside to their game, teams will rather fancy getting them in just like Odoi and Diaz, for instance than someone who is seen to have failed.

Football buisness can be unforgiving, especially for people of colour. Secondly, modern managers are under pressure these days to perform. Club CEOs literally have their fingers on the trigger ready to fire.
With this in mind, managers are meticulous in their purchase as they are looking for players who will hit the ground running.

Nacho might have to take a step down to rebuild his reputation, before getting back up once more.

You can keep going on about Iheanacho should shine, should shine etc. I have made my point before Nacho joined City until he left. I will judge him after he plays in an offensive/attacking creative system. By the way, Okazaki is not a key player anymore for Leicester City.

In the event he doesn't get the chance to play in such a system till he retired. How will you rate his career?

His lack of shooting accuracy is responsible for his lack of shooting confidence. His wide shots of time past and the criticisms that followed them have resulted in him loosing his shooting confidence.

See him shoot and score on at least 2 more occasions with successive games and u see his shooting confidence increase.

I hope Iwobi improves his all round goal threat. He is very good on the ball, can get past people with tricky but his goal threat like I said have been poor.

I saw a report someone posted about Iwobi going the way of Liverpool's Dutch midfielder. As an Arsenal fan, I'm open to that idea because the last time I checked, Iwobi's stat reads something like 10 goals in 110 appearances.

I don't need to point out how poor such a return is. Especially when direct competition in other teams like Mane, Hazard, Sane plays the same inside left wing Iwobi plays for us.

The winning team did not themselves create any worthwhile chance.

I think, Nigeria played a role in making them look ugly. We just did not have firepower at the other end.
That's my point. They didn't have to play fantastically well to get a result. We never pushed or threatened the outcome of th result.

Do you think Croatia would have left us alone if we were a goal or 2 goals up? While leading Iceland, you can see the urgency and threat they posed and even earned a penalty of their own. Where was the fight Nigeria offered? That is why I grade our performance F against Croatia.

There is no comparison.

Nigeria was drab in the seychelles but we still had more shots on goal than Croatia had all game.

Both teams offered nothing going forward. Croatia's only shot on target all game was a tame effort from outside the box.

My point is simple. Croatia were not far better than us on the day. It was a drab game decided by small margins.

It was a drab game, no doubt but even poorer by the loosing side as they couldn't make make any effort worthy of remembrance in a high stakes competitive game.
It's a shame Croatia didn't have to play well to beat Nigeria.

My brother, the last world cup was nothing to write home about from the Nigerian perspective. The standard of football from the Super Eagles was appalling.
Tbaba1234 was defending the team as if the plan all along was to limit Croatia to just 2-0. If we were talking about Panama, I will understand. But for a country like Nigeria? That is unacceptable.
