My First Experience On Live Radio... On Thursday 23rd of June at exactly 1: 51pm, I got a message on my phone which I was just reading about fifteen minutes after it has been delivered. I stared at the phone to be sure I read right, of course I did but I was surprised as I was not expecting it. At first a negative thought came to my mind that it could be a scam but then the person included his full name which made it look a bit convincing. So after some minutes I decided to call the no back ,that moment I discovered the no had called me twice even before the text message. ***The voice from the other end " yes ma, this is Oladapo Ojo I work with radio Nigeria Gold Fm Ilesha, Osun state I called you to confirm if you would be available for our program come Monday 27th of June " Did it sound unbelievable to me ? Well yes but the voice was confident and sounds convincing. So I asked the question "how did you get my no please?" I found how they got my no on my blog. I remember I have dropped my no on my blog's "About page". I got home and told my mom, it was a very hilarious moment when my mom told me it might be 419 or evil people trying to manipulate somethings(typical of an African mother ) and until she confirms from a reliable person about the radio station and the presenter before before I can go. So she did and finally she was convinced too and I started preparing. I was to speak on "how youths of today can use the social media outlets to better their lots" I had several thoughts on what to say about the topic but they kept conflicting themselves in my thoughts until Sunday night when I finally decided I was just going to be myself and let the inspirations flow freely. So I took a pen and jotted down some few points and reflected on them before going to bed. I got to the radio station this morning anxiety writen all over me and I was trying hard not to show how timid I was but surprisingly it was all gone when I got on the program to talk finally. The nervousness seized and I just let myself feel comfortable and it worked brilliantly well. Before I knew it the show was over faster than I thought or even imagined. I got calls and texts from friends around osun state telling me how they benefited real good and learnt a lot from the program. I was happy I was able to inspire youths out there in my own little way. Someone might say " why so much fuss about this " well it means a lot to me because there is always a starting point no matter how little. Never give up on your dreams...and don't wait for your dreams to come to you, pursue it with passion and just sets out to do that which you have always wanted to do. It is not going to be rosy at the beginning not at all but eventually it will pay off. ***The world awaits your greatness. You can check up my article on the topic here on my blog.. .http://damidemi..com.ng/2016/06/how-youths-today-can-leverage-on-social.html?m=1

About three weeks ago I decided to start blogging and I was so much thrilled by the testimonies from bloggers who are making it big ignoring the reputable no of years ago they started. I wanted to make it big too...the cool cash was ringing in my head and the fact I know I can write as in do my own stuffs originally was not in my head. That was not the point, the point was how can I also start making my money fast from blogging too. I pondered and got little advices from different folks here and there about how to start and all. I realised something was selling faster and that was gossips and rational stories, people were more interested in caring more about people's life than their own especially the ladies, the guys have the fair part of engaging in political news. So I decided I was going to start blogging about that, quickly I set up my blog, created a Facebook page to promote it and also on forums. I was getting good page views for a start up but then I was not happy with what I was doing. I knew I could get stories from the net and then review it and report it in my own words. I was writing about things I didn't have passion for naturally. On a norm am not a celebrity freak in fact in my social media platforms if am following a celebrity then am after an attribute squarely and not for following sake, I don't follow them up or troll them around because in the real essence the word celebrity has a different meaning to me. So I started following them up to get the latest gist about them. It freaked me out just after the first week. I knew I was running a race where on the long run my integrity might not hold water. Today every Nigerian blogger are competing in an effortless race of doing same thing. No originality, no genuine passion neither do they have the patience. I don't want to end up like that, I want to build my own story, build my own integrity and create my own standards in the little way I can. So I restatgize and decided on what to do, I decided to quit the rush hour technique I was using and build on my passion. I deleted every post I didn't solely write on my blog and started writing afresh. I never knew I could write so much and express myself in the way I have been doing in my writings of late. As I write each new post now am happy with what am doing...I just keep on writing and the ideas just keep coming. There is no rush about getting my writeup out there, no rush about getting goggle absence, I just want to write and learn more, explore new skills and embrace new opportunities. I know very soon people will embrace the real bloggers who don't just do the copy and paste and troll after celebrities...it's just a matter of time. Now I read more and think more,I want to create a standard for myself and that's what am working on. The beauty in creativity is self expression... It's throwback thursday and I stumbled upon this picture in my gallery. This is so true ehn...lol. The way this aunties do come is the funny part, they would come around when your mom is beating you or trying to scold you to help you abeg...na so no be only beg, that's just a cover up mission the real one is to come and pour sand in your garri. And this aunties are so talented that their point will be so valid that your mom would want to beat you again only for them to intervene again but won't still stop talking. Then why are you begging na aunty? It's better she just beat me and we both forget the incidence or anything that happened than for you both to keep talking on for long and me dodging slaps. Their words were always soft and cunny...you would hear something like "And she doesn't behave like that before, she just changed ni" " I even saw her the other day doing the same thing but I didn't want to talk" " she is not the only one self, even her younger sis" The last line is just the height...why implicating another person again...lol. I hope you are not that type of aunty or uncle? if you are try to do it codedly please because then the hate was strong for these aunties. http://damidemi..ae/2016/06/throwback-do-you-remember-those-aunties.html?m=1

Teenage Dream. When I was a teenager I hoped for so many things I couldn't reach, I wished for great ability beyond my prospects, I longed for opportunities I couldn't get, I sulked and craved for fancy things and pleasure my heart desired, I looked up to responsibilities beyond my strength, I tried to understand so many things beyond my knowledge, I knew they were just dreams but still I wanted to dream on. They were things in my subconscious mind that never left... They were there for long and didn't leave until I wanted to explore each of this dreams... They were strong forces I had to contend with, the good ones among them and equally the bad... They were my teenage dreams...they were there for a reason. These reason have come to understand to have neve left even though am no longer a teen but these dreams didn't just stay back ordinarily they evolve and they became my thoughts today, some my past and while some became life long experience I would ever remember. Yet I still dream as a teenager even in my adult age because these dreams left prints in my hearts and they will be there for long. http://damidemi..ae/2016/06/teens-talk-my-teenage-dream_9.html?m=1

Hehhehehhe Seriously ladies why do we do this? Am also guilty of this once or twice. Must you eat from that plate? Does his own taste better even if you were the one that cooked and dished. http://damidemi..ae/2016/06/relationship-why-are-ladies-so-guilty.html?m=1

sinaj:Maybe a little though but she must have looked horrible too in the first place |
Now this got me laughing real hard...like seriously lol.Am not trying to mock anyone here but just trying to say some facts. This is damn too much and over the hook, there is absolutely nothing creative about this look. The makeup artist should be sued and made to pay huge fine for making a bride look like this on such a special day. This is what I call building a complete house on a face. Foundations with different layers then with decking then the finhsing.lol. And the hubby was looking on like "And they told you this thing is fine ?" http://damidemi..com.ng/2016/06/lifestyle-see-this-bride-horrible.html?m=1

VocalWalls:Alright thanks a lot. The thing is I write articles on teena life, relationships and I also write stories(fictions and happenings) but am not too sure if that's alone will get me traffic. |
