this beaf guy, you are losing any credibility you have as an independent Nigerian that actually thinks the fuel subsidy removal is good for us as against a paid government stooge. how you have conveniently side stepped all the pertinent questions posed by myself and other posters does not show any independent mindedness. you claim that government has "worked out" palliative measures, measures you yourself have no idea of. and we are supposed to believe them just beccause they said so. won't these so called palliative measures cost money to implement? and where will that money come from; the subsidy savings or the budget? weren't we told that governent was borrowing to subsidize fuel? will the removal of the subsidy mean govvernment will stop borrowing or that the borrowed money will just be used for other purposes? i don't expect you to answer my questions. rather, i expect you to throw questions bak at me about state governments and lgs, as if provision ofcheap petrol or power supply has been in their purview. what you are doing here is nt trying to convince us but confuse us, but i don't confuse easily
It is little minds that go personal my friend. Avoid it. about LG's and states, I'm just wondering if you really know where to channel your energy and vent your anger. If you did, you would be wondering why your local area is so poor that you need welfare from the FG. I am only showing you how misplaced your anger is; if your state and LG were doing what they were meant to and providing you with jobs and services, you wouldn't really care if the FG existed or not. Ask anybody in the US or UK how many things they ask their central govts for on a daily basis. Everything is supplied by state or LG's, thats the way normal countries are run and what we should be fighting for. Why should we continue to behave like a communist country when we so clearly arent? Please, set up a protest to burn down your LG chairman or state governor for degrading you by having to go to Abuja monthly for beggars money for donkey years with no development to show. Every Nigerian is on welfare, every LG is on welfare and every state is on welfare. We are not lazy people, so something is fundamentally wrong. |
lastpage:My guy, that link is to a newpaper article, not a post from a fellow NLer. There is a lot of stuff to read on NL, imagine if everyone dropped such long posts, especially in hot topics like this? We'll all tire out. Don't be offended. |
I'm a bit sad, cos we have only one hydro-electric power station slated for Delta State (Ogwashiukwu dam). And its just 1MW. Mambilla though will come in at a whopping 2600MW initially. |
^ Run along, now. I have no toys for kiddies. |
@OAM4J Thanks (you know the reason why). |
Gbawe:Dude, your brain is cold and your battery is weak. You posted a lot of coded hate filled shiit, starting with your cold hearted praise for boko harams stomach. It isn't normal behaviour to praise boko harams stomach, it isn't normal for anyone to worship a murderous group either. However, you absolutely believe that boko haram is a legitimate political tool (as you made abundantly clear), so much so that you tied it into the petrol subsidy protests as a way for the "owners of Nigeria" to overthrow legitimately elected GEJ's govt. You were also talking on a thread with "Ironsi" in the title, coupled with that, the person you were talking to is the Eze of NL; taking all of that in context, what is the history the "owners of Nigeria" are rewriting? What "events on the ground have overtaken the history you so much hold on to and assume other share feverishly , as dogmatic mantra?" |
Okay cool. I consider myself a realist, really, so for that reason, where you come from doesn't really matter to me (cuz we're all Nigerians and have no control over it); but it's we're you're going I'll pay attention to. Now, on the discussion: You know what? Let Lagosians and Ogunites (the two states who've shown interest in protesting) carry on with the march tomorrow, and we Niger-Deltans promise to give you our utmost support. . . Errr. . . From behind our TV sets, that is. ![]() Right, Beaf?
Yeah, my guy! I'm gonna buy a large screen TV! Lolz!People have every right to protest, but when some begin ethnising political issues and claiming that their ethic group or ethnic alliances are the "owners of Nigeria" who others must follow, then bros, na to buy cinema ticket make we siddon look o! Let the "owners of Nigeria" entertain us! ![]() |
Gbawe:Thanks for clarifying our thoughts. Why do you think Yoruba and Fulani people should be the "owners of Nigeria?" Why would a sane person mock those who expressed otrage at boko haram murderous activities? Why would you hail boko harams stomach for blood as the tactic for kingship, and then mocking their victims? You are deceiving yourself only with your forked tongue. But now we know what there is an ethnic agenda to the subsidy demonstrations as revealed by one who admires the murderous boko haram. |
2mch:Not everybody is blinded by psuedo-sophistry. I will analyse the statement in all its ugly "glory:" Gbawe: keep watching buddy. We will see who has overestimated their touted strenght within a Nigeria where the stomach, and not enduring principles, is king today. Boko Haram has been butchering Nigerians from all walks of life so far. What has been the reaction of those who vacuously make noise about their 'powermen' strenght on the net? Where was the immediate burning of Mosques after the Christmas attack to indicate a readiness for t.i.t-for-tat and we-wont-take-it-lying-down people like you tout? Here, we witness the praising of the murderous boko haram as a legitimate political tool that we are powerless against. We are told the dark tale that we, the principled folk do not count in Nigeria, but that those like boko haram who have the stomach to kill and plunder are his kings today. He goes on to taunt and mock those who shuddered and expressed their anger at the outrages of boko haram, as people who "vacuously" make noise on the net. When did boko harams horrors become a thing to savour? When did broken lives and families, dead babies and their splintered mothers become objects for political glee? I shudder in outrage at any such description of boko haram. The message the quote above passes is spine-chilling and blood-cuddling. Gbawe: Right now, the "owners of Nigeria" will do and undo , plus give the lead, while all Nigeria will follow as is the case so far !!! Many of you don't seem to understand that events on the ground has overtaken the history you so much hold on to and assume other share feverishly , as dogmatic mantra, with you.We begin to get a sense where the author is going when after worshipping boko haram, he talks about the "owners of Nigeria." Is this the IBB-Tinubu-Tambuwal alliance? Or is it the SW/NW? Why is boko haram important to these "owners of Nigeria?" What is the link between boko haram and the fuel protests? The author further tells us how history has been washed away. What history? 40 years of misrule and slavery? The civil war? What history are these boko haram affiliated "owners of Nigeria" attempting to rewrite? Altogether, the post reads like something from Nazi times. |
Gbawe: keep watching buddy. We will see who has overestimated their touted strenght within a Nigeria where the stomach, and not enduring principles, is king today.
I guess I forgot to mention I'm from Ndokwa L.G.A. of Delta State. And you know what that means, bruv? Yeah, it means I'm from that SS you just mentioned. Nonetheless, my statement was made from gauging the opinion clouds in both regions and summing it up. And another thing you have to take note of, pal, is that I do not support the removal of subsidies. Reading my previous posts coupled with a few seconds of introspection would have made that clear. PS: I am not an internet tribal knight either; so kindly respect yourself and keep your sweeping conclusions within the confines of your mind. Thanks.
Abeg, don't mind all those clowns jare! Let them continue to peep in and think their weak argument account for anything. Me? I will watch their "revolution" fizzle out on TV. |
This curious and disturbingly bigotted post got me thinking and it should get everyone thinking too. Could there be an ethnic or political dimension to boko haram and the fuel "revolution?" Gbawe:https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-837167.0.html#msg9883217 Who are the "owners of Nigeria" that will take the lead in the protests and whom Gbawe is following and claims all Nigerians will follow? And what is boko haram to them? |
Gbawe:You are a twopenny bigotted hate-filled fool. Who were you referring to as owners of Nigeria below? Who the phuck do you think your ethnic group is superior to? Gbawe:Who the phuck are you referring to as "owners of Nigeria," if not Yoruba and Fulani people? You are a disgrace to every educated person. |
stillwater:I was objectively critical and at the same time, quite protective of Yar Adua. My posts from the Yar Adua era are replete with rebukes and pleas for people to stop calling the man demeaning names like Yaramugu, Yaradull, Yaraslow etc. So, I mark your effort as a fail. |
@lastpage Please, condense what you have to say, I couldn't read your post to the end. However, I'll comment on this bit: Take the Aramco example you made and ask yourself: If Aramco is being run by the same set of incompetent fools that run NNPC, do you think Aramco can reach such lofty heights? (Indeed, if Saudi Arabi orr any of the Gulf states or even Libya is being run by the likes of GEJ, IBB or OBJ, will those countries be still on the map today?)The reason why Aramco can generate profits, employ the best and churn out patents is because it is run like a normal company. A pile of shiit like our subsidised NNPC will never ever generate money in this lifetime and the next, because the entire structure is wrong. You do not expect a man whose behaviour, no matter how bad, inept, corrupt and disgraceful, is rewarded by subsidies to suddenly begin churning out wonderful patents. Intead, he will employ his illiterate cook as treasure to thumbprint hell out of the economy. All na subsidy. You are right that the failures of the past are due to bad management. Poor management is the exact reason we have something as id!otic as subsidies on fuel, instead of on education, agriculture, science and tech, Research and Development, health, out-of-job welafare packages etc etc. Subsidising fuel is as id!otic as subsidising toilet roll. Yes, it is due to bad management of past leaders. The removal of the subsidy is painful, no doubt. But we must look beyond the pain to demanding complete transparency in the way the dividends are delivered. |
lagerwhenindoubt:The bolded is a lie, here are detailed plans for how the monies will be spent: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B_VI3W_cAwMeNTljY2JmOWYtN2M4Yi00MGI0LWE2MTctYTUxMTM0ZDVkNDRm&hl=en_US |
Gbawe:Who gives a phuck what you have to emit from a crusty arse? Carry out your "revolution," and get a free lazy phuckers republic or two. Of course, with neither subsidy nor oil. Talk is cheap, especially for fools and lackeys of the "owners of Nigeria." Send a letter to your "owners of Nigeria" telling them that we have told you in the most straightforward and convincing terms, that we do no give the slightest phuck about what they think. Fool. |
UYCO:Really? As doctokwus said, you are indeed a clown. Buy a monkey or hyena to entertain crowds at Igbudu market, your "talent" is wasted on NL. |
Gbawe:Go and carry out your id!ots revolution. You will learn a thing or two. You will be shocked to find out how badly some of us want Oduduwa and Arewa; more than anything, you will be shocked at how prepared and organised your foes are. We have been looking for any excuse to dump your rotting ship, so please give it to us, run wild and burn shiit down, twist Lagos and bend Zamfara with protests. Lolz! Dude, go on the streets and freely express your "Egyptian" idiocy. Words are cheap (especially after the sepe has cleared from your eyes). . . .By the way, "Ihejirika na our blood." Swine, let it kill you. |
Gbawe:This is how your chaotically stup!d protest that is not backed by a single shred of philosophy or ideology will go:
[li]There will be major protests in Lagos and the far-North[/li] [li]All protests will be led by dissidents and opposition figures[/li] [li]There will be fewer or no protests in the SE/SS where the oil comes from (this is a point that cannot be overemphasised)[/li] [li]You people will be grouped as political desperados willing to tear Nigeria apart to suit your personal and ethnically centred goals[/li] [li]Coupled with the threats from boko haram, you will be seen as a security threat and haters of progress[/li]
Seen? |
savar:The register was finally siezed and Dino Melaye arrested. I would advise everyone to watch that video to see how tiny the protest was, there is no point risking your life without a plan. |
shine12:What if other things are subsidised instead of petrol? Things that will actually generate volumes of money like education, research, agriculture, manufacturing etc? The removal of the subsidy is painful and tough, but the arguments for it are baseless and a path to disaster. You know it and I know it. |
debosky:Stop trying to tell lies and put words in my mouth. You are just a belly crawling mud muncher without principles. Whenever there are articles on Shell or NNPC, you turn up to twist stories and create anti-people angles like a witch from Okija forest. debosky:It doesn't matter if the predecessor of NNPC was abracadabra, you and the phucking corrupt NNPC are gonna be swpt away. Howl as much as you look like, it is a waste of time. But moving your mind to understanding that fact is like moving tectonic plates; you are that stup!d and corrupt. Lol! Its funny how weasels and vampires turn up like Beelzebub to try to switch off the truth and sell lies spiced with fake curry. Dude, you are caged like a feral baboon. |
debosky:If you were not a fool, you would have read what was written about Aramco and understood it, but I guess that is not for thieves and vultures who wish NNPC will always be there for them to milk the populace. Whether you like it or not NNPC is also billed to be dissolved. Let phuckers like you weep buckets, it won't change a thing. debosky:You are even more stup!d than I estimated. NNPC is not going to be reshuffled, your whole phucking NNPC paradise of corruption is going to be swept away, with people like you kicking and screaming; so cry blood if you like. Dunce. |
When I saw "IBB," I thought it was his obituary announcement. |
debosky:You amaze me. Do you "fight" corruption and leave the system that generated loopholes intact? You are a fool. I can understand though that you are only trying in vain to keep your doomed corrupt links going. Maybe you are too stup!d to understand that the Saudi population is just 27 million, yet they have proven reserves of 264.52billion barrels compared to Nigeria with a population of 167million and only 37billion barrels of proven reserves; so they can afford to pay a fraction of the pump price. We can't. Nigeria keeps producing fools like you from our half baked education system, only for you to come up with ideas that will make a kid from practically any foreign country burst into weeping on your behalf. Our petroleum sector can only produce cretins like you, apes that sit on their fat arses, fart all day and get a whopping salary. The corruption in NNPC is 100% due to the fact that they don't need to think to make a living, because every phucking thing is subsidised. While their foreign compatriots are applying for patents and turning out profits year-in-year-out. Wicked fools like you will always root for the NNPC to remain as it is; whereas other countries petroleum institutions are making strides in development. You most likely benefit from the theft at NNPC anyway, so I am not surprised that you want it to remain as it is. |
There is a rumour that Wale Tinubu has been arrested for protesting the subsidy. People like that only protest things that are not in their favour, Oando had no principles when it came to buying shares in Abacha's private refinery in Sierra Leone that was built specifically to milk Nigeria off through so-called subsidies. Those venting off anger like baby volcanoes are really only slaves fighting to keep their enslavers. |
I didn't even bother to read the so-called history of Islam. There is a very thin line that the thrust of this thread has crossed and it is called hateful bigotry. |
