DrummaBoy:Threat knock sense into me? You are a fool from a long lineage of fools. If you ever in your life make a death threat to me again you will understand many things. Don't think you cannot be traced, it is the undoing of bastards like you. I will get you when I want. |
dustydee:Don't be insulting. I support GEJ without regrets, you don't like it? Lie down on an express way. As far as all honest people know, GEJ gave Nigeria the freest and fairest elections in Nigeria's democratic history. |
Gbawe:You think changing the results overnight is a victory? Criminals will never change. The reading out of the PDP victory yesterday by LASIEC was caught on tape, but by magic that result has changed overnight. You are toying with an uprising. "Progressives" What can one expect from a party led by a fraud, drug baron and "Toronto" certificate holder? The entire election will be cancelled. |
emmatok:People are still waiting for the ballot boxes and electoral officer that disappeared when they realised that PDP won resoundingly. The elections will be cancelled, the rigging has been ridiculously blatant. |

ACN Sweeps LG Polls As LASIEC Releases Official Results The Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN has won by landslide the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections held in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria at the weekend. In the results announced officially by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC this evening, the ACN won all the Chairmanship seats in the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs of the state. Announcing the result, LASIEC Chairman, Retired Justice Adeyinka Abdulfatai said the ACN satisfied the provisions of the LASIEC law and had emerged victorious in the polls being disputed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. He disclosed that the ACN also won 355 councillorship seats out of the 376 seats contested while the PDP won 18 seats and the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, won two seats while the councillorship election for Ward H in Mushin Local Government was inconclusive. Abdulfatai stated that details of the breakdown of the results would made available to newsmen tomorrow while the details would also be displayed at LASIEC’s office, the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs. He also disclosed that 28 parties contested the council polls; 250 candidates for the chairmanship position and 1,145 candidates for the councillorship position. Abdulfatai appeared to have shot himself in the leg when he said that once the returning officer for any local government had declared the results of the poll, he did not have the power to nullify it, adding that the LASIEC office only receive the results already declared by the returning officers. When confronted with the question that it was captured on tape when a LASIEC official in Badagry Local Government announced the PDP candidate winner, the LASIEC boss could not provide an answer, saying that anyone aggrieved should go to the electoral tribunal set up by the Chief Judge of the state to handle such petitions. “Aggrieved parties should go to tribunal for redress. The Chief Judge has set up election appeal tribunal because there is likelihood that some might want to go to court to seek redress,” he said. Meanwhile, the Elders’ Council of the PDP has accused the ACN and LASIEC of alleged manipulation of the election. Commenting on the outcome of the council polls, the State Chairman of the Elders’ council, Dr Oluyomi Finnih described the conduct of the polls as unsatisfactory. “We find it very important to react to the regrettable handling of the local government elections conducted last Saturday by the LASIEC in collaboration with the Lagos state government. We want to state that the process has not been satisfactory, a development which portends danger for our democracy. “As widely reported in the media, the election was marred by noticeable abuses through rigging and violence. Yet, we are pleased that Lagosians who are hard hit by the poor performance of the local councils did exercise their civic duty by voting for the Peoples Democratic Party. “This trend was a public knowledge all over the state and we hereby thank these concerned Lagosians who came out to identify with the cause of change. And we are delighted at the results so far released, which affirmed our enthusiasm that Lagosians are ready for change and actually voted for change at the last local government election,” he stated. Similarly, the PDP alleged that it won the chairmanship election in five councils, namely, Ikoyi/Obalende, Eredo, Shomolu, Agbado Oke-Odo and Badagry Local Government. http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/10/24/acn-sweeps-lg-polls-as-lasiec-releases-official-results/ |

PDP rejects Lagos council polls results On October 24, 2011 · In News , By Clifford Ndujihe, Olasunkanmi Akoni, Evelyn Usman & Monsur Olowoopejo (with agency report) Lagos—AS official results of Saturday’s council polls from Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, are being awaited, opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has rejected the outcome of the polls, alleging that the electoral umpire was “doctoring” the results. Forty-Eight hours after the elections, which were marred by voters apathy, LASIEC was still strugg-ling with collating, compi-ling and announcing the results as of press time, yesterday, even as unofficial results indicated that the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, won most of the seats on offer with PDP making appreciable inroads in Badagry. LASIEC has denied doctoring the results or rigging the polls in favour of ACN while local and international observers and ACN leaders hailed the conduct of the polls. Meanwhile, four LASIEC officials were reportedly arrested in Epe over various electoral offences while the Police said, yesterday, that it had begun investigation into the alleged discovery of thumb-printed ballot papers, weekend, in a diplomatic car belonging to a member of PDP in Eti-Osa Local Council. Commissioner of Police, Mr. Yakubu Alkali, told reporters that several persons were arrested during the polls for violating electoral laws. CSP Cyril David, Divisional Police Officer, Epe Local Council, said four LASIEC officials were arrested in Epe over various electoral offences, adding that six other persons were also arrested for various offences during the just-concluded election in Epe. Those who hailed the conduct of the elections included International Observers and Domestic Affiliates, IODA; West African Youth Peace Mission; Forum of State Independent Electoral Commissions of Nigeria, FOSIECON; Northern Nigeria Union of Election Observer, NNUEO; Senator Gbenga Ashafa, ACN, Lagos East; and Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan, ACN chairmanship candidate, Ejigbo LCDA. LASIEC is ‘doctoring’ results— PDP Lagos State Chairman of PDP, Mr. Sentoji Koshedo, in a telephone chat with Vanguard, yesterday, said his party was rejecting the results because of alleged plans by LASIEC to deny PDP of some seats it won at the polls. Condemning LASIEC’s delay in announcing the results, he said: “It is an extension of the big fraud by LASIEC to prevent the opposition from being part of the governance of Lagos. They are building an empire for themselves. LASIEC tried to show a level of fairness initially. Later we learnt of their plans, which they used to disenfranchise voters and our supporters. We are not going to accept the results. “We have video clips of the results and we have the original copies of the results which were also given to the police and security agencies. In Badagry West, PDP won three seats out of five. In Badagry East, we won two out of five seats and in Badagry Central, we won the chairmanship and seven out of 10 councilors. Now, they are saying we didn’t win anything at all.” It’s a lie— ACN However, ACN Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe, dismissed PDP’s claims as the ranting of a losing party. He alleged that a top PDP leader hired thugs to disrupt activities in Eti-Osa after failing to ‘buy’ voters. He said: “On the whole PDP is trying to create confusion, inciting the voters to violence and circulating false claims of electoral victories in places like Badagry, Ikoyi-Obalende, Agege-Iganmu and Epe.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/pdp-rejects-lagos-council-polls-results/ |
Concern Mounts over Lagos Council Poll Results 24 Oct 2011 LASIEC Chairman, Justice Abdulfatai Adeyinka By Gboyega Akinsanmi and Charles Ajunwa More than 24 hours after Lagos residents voted in the just concluded local council elections, Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) is yet to release the election results. The delay Sunday generated anger and concern among the political parties that participated in the process, with the exception of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). The development sharply contravened the pre-election promise made by LASIEC Chairman, Justice Abdulfatai Adeyinka, that the election results would be announced within a timeframe of 24 hours. As at the time of filing this report, THISDAY learnt that LASIEC officers in Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA, where Mr. Babajide Obanikoro, contested chairmanship race on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform, had disappeared from the collation centre. It was gathered that Obanikoro, the son of Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Ghana, Musiliu Obanikoro, was comfortably leading before the vote counts stopped and electoral officers disappeared. A good number of journalists from both the electronic and print media were denied access to LASIEC premises, though they hanged around hoping that the results would soon be announced. At about 7:00 p.m., LASIEC spokesperson, Mrs. Ronke Famakinwa, came out, pleading with journalists that the election results would be announced, though did not give specific time for the release. THISDAY, however, gathered that LASIEC Secretary, Mr. Adeyinka Jeje, had officially released the election result to Lagos Television and TV Continental, but this could not be confirmed as at press time. But early, a coalition of election observers Sunday acknowledged some level of confusion, which they said, characterised the just concluded elections into the 20 local government areas (LGAs) and 37 local council development areas (LCDAs) of Lagos State. The coalition, which comprises Northern Nigeria Union of Election Observers and West African Youth Peace Mission International Election Observers, noted this in its preliminary report at a news conference held at the secretariat of Lagos State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ikeja. Speaking at the conference, Executive Chairman of Northern Nigeria Union of Election Observers, Comrade Ali Abacha, explained that there was confusion and pandemonium at Dodan Barracks which, he said, affected the voting process in some polling stations around Obalende. Abacha also named Ijesha area of Lagos State, where he said, few cases of chaos and confusion were witnessed in some polling stations, thereby affecting the voting process. The chairman also acknowledged that the heavy rains, which he said fell between 1:30 and 5:00 p.m., further affected the voting process in some areas and collation centres in the state, a situation which he said, no person or authority could control or manage. He specifically named Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Apapa and Eti-Osa Local Government Areas among the parts of the state suffered apathy and low turnout, acknowledging that some polling units commenced voting fairly late; 10:00 a.m. in some areas and 11:00 a.m. in other areas. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/concern-mounts-over-lagos-council-poll-results/101210/ |
All these points you raised about one ethnic group losing out, Beaf is this you analyzing current realities from a neutral position or you are actually expressing your deep seated ideas about what you want and how you like to play politics? I ask this because I basically understand kpogedes Itshekiri: (at least I get over 90% of what he wrote in his dialect) he basically rejected Uduaghan and called him out as a bastard, he also expressed his willingness to accept a better candidate from a diffrent ethnic group. I expect you to applaud that and encourage it, not give this divisive opinion about sectarianism as if hunger and penury recognizes tribe. One other thing I saw was this comment; See what I'm saying? Beaf. This Them vs Us tribal narratives you are painting is very dissapointing, especially coming from someone like you -who I assume is a well educated and well connected young Nigerian.
That is what Delta state is unfortunately. It has absolutely nothing to do with education or what you call "connections." Uduaghan is there because it is the turn of his people. Kpogede is very generous and to be complemented for that, unfortunately the vast majority are not; what is even worse is the way the protests have been carried as an Urhobo students thing. Its all unhealthy and bodes trouble and unnecessary bloodshed. If Uduaghan is to be removed, it cannot be from the street, it will require high level meetings of Delta states elders. What people are doing right now is playing with life. Itsekiri boys are very well armed and primed, its not just an Ijaw and Agbassa thing. Will you people be there to pick the pieces? |
stormm:Lol! Here are some more fake pictures of Gbawe's state. It is bloody ridiculous. I don't care about Uduaghan, but I need to express my love for Gbawe's state. lol https://allafrica.com/img/csi/00180089_b81a68519a91e1cf43558dec0addfd74/w510.jpg https://pmnewsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Area-boys-defecating.jpg |
