Na wa o. What you say factually isn't even true.
85% IGR means, you have a shortfall and the beggar analogy applies remorselessly. We are all beggars, and it really looks ridiculous when beggars laugh at other beggars. |
buzugee:If our hussle was our intellectual assets, like obtains in Japan (a country with almost zero natural resources), then it would have been impossible to fix a price on Nigeria. But right now, all one needs do is multiply our 37 billion barrells of crude by the going rate. Nigeria's worth at this mo is: 37billion x $100.00 = $3.7tr |
^ Dude, my small toe packs more IQ than your whole arid, desert clan. Lol! @topic The truth is bitter. As they say, remove the log in your eye before complaining of the speck in your neighbours eye. Those ex-millitants are a graphic picture of the Nigerian nation, where each state does fvckall, yet collects welfare money from Abuja, instead of the other way round. If all our states and LG's are beggars, why point fingers at ex-millitants who have an agreement with the FG thats as valid as the one the FG has with the states. Isn't it an irony and a pitiable delusion? Look in the mirror and see yourselves in our fvcked country. |
Things like this give us good press, instead of the usual stream of scam news. Well done GEJ! From Voice of America: Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan is taking steps to evacuate his country's stranded citizens from Tripoli and Benghazi. Several hundred Nigerians are estimated to be in Libyahttp://www.voanews.com/english/news/middle-east/US-Other-Nations-Send-Ferries-Planes-to-Libya-for-Evacuations-116720514.html |
People keep calling the ex-millitants lazy people. It is very ironic, because every single state and LG in Nigeria does exactly what these folk are doing; your state, my state, all states queue in Abuja, begging bowls at the ready for money they never worked for. I say, look in the mirror. ![]() |
Sorry guys, but everyone is busy inflating figures, asking for new states, new LG's etc. No ethnic group can be spared from Nigeria's shame. Every group strives to make free money or seek relevance from inflated figures; thats the shame thats Nigeria, a land where money is given to states for doing absolutely nothing. I wish the oil would evaporate, only then will the country stop being a lazy, corrupt fvckup. |
Ola edo:I challenged anybody to provide figures that don't include cows, goats, tree's or chickens, you simply haven't done that. Lets leave the absurd topic of ethnic demographics and ponder what GEJ has said, because ethnic demographics are driven by the very ethnic bigotry he wishes to cure the nation of. Lets expand on that. The only reason our ethnic groups claim huge numbers (especially the big 3), is to get a bigger share of oil wealth and wallow in laziness. That is the stark truth and that is the reason the elite push ethnic bigotry as a tool of leverage on the small-minded ones in the population. Here's the equation of Nigerian society: Bigger ethnic population numbers = more beggar LG's = more beggar states = more beggar reps and senators = laziness and parasitism = unproductiveness, theft and corruption |
‘Ex-gov frustrated FG’s effort on Lekki FTZ’ . Thursday, 24 February 2011 00:00 Nigerian Compass PEOPLES Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos East Senatorial District candidate, Al-Mustain Alade Abaniwonda, has accused a former governor of Lagos State of frustrating the Federal Government’s effort on the Lekki Free Trade Zone (FTZ), while he was ruling the state. Speaking at the flagging off of the PDP campaign in Epe on Tuesday, Abaniwonda said the Federal Government had planned to do the FTZ during the tenure of the ex-governor, “but he frustrated the effort because he wanted 65 per cent stake in the project”. Abaniwonda was said to have left the Action Congress (AC) after 2003, when he sought the senatorial district’s ticket on the party's platform, but was asked to step down for the eventual winner of the ticket, Olorunnimbe Mamora. He said his emergence as the PDP’s flag bearer for the senatorial election is a divinely orchestrated one, which now needs only the people’s support to be realised, insisting that President Goodluck Jonathan was right to have labelled the ACN leaders as rascals. “When they asked Mamora what he brought from Abuja, he said ‘You know we were in the opposition party’. Do you want to send another opposition this time and end up getting nothing out of your due from the Federal Government?” He asked the crowd. The PDP Chairman for the district, Olusegun Adeyemi, who said the people of Epe had been enslaved through the state government's land acquisition drive, said the people have gained nothing under the ACN administration. “Our hospitals and roads are bad. Our children, who we spent heavily on for their education, are jobless. We are not voting in the coming election for a candidate, but we are voting to liberate ourselves. It is a rescue operation and we must all work towards its achievement,” said Adeyemi. He urged the people to draw inspiration from the party’s recent victory in the Ikorodu Constituency II by-election and be ready to re-enact the same feat in the coming general elections. According to him, “the ACN spent N54 million for the Ikorodu election. Our leaders only gave us N32 million and we defeated them. We can do it again.” One of the party’s gubernatorial aspirants, Babatunde Gbadamosi, said the fact that the PDP won the two by-elections that have been held in the state is a clear sign that the Lagos East Senatorial District, where the two by-elections were held, belongs to the party. http://www.compassnewspaper.com/NG/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=75905:-ex-gov-frustrated-fgs-effort-on-lekki-ftz&catid=43:news&Itemid=799 |

Go to nearby Togo or Republic of Benin and I bet you will not find public schools as dilapidated as the ones in Nigeria yet they don't have oil.
Thank you. Nigeria has a very big problem called laziness and its brought on by corruption and getting free money. We desperately need to move to a system where each state actually produces money, is accountable and disciplined. People who build such schools should be jailed. Why not just put our kids in a zoo? |
buzugee:Without the single driving force of the economy, real estate will decay and be worthless. |
What is so wrong with Urhobo people being the 5th largest group in the country? Can any of you clowns give accurate census figures for your groups, figures that don't include goats and chickens? Lol As for PhysicsMHD's erroneous statement that Isoko's and Ijaws are enemies, it couldn't be more false. The only source of friction between both the Isoko and Urhobo on the one hand and the Ijaw came from slave trading; both groups staunchly refused to engage in the heinious trade (trading in oil palm produce instead). Ijaw slavers would raid their territories on rare occassions and cart off people, aside from that Isoko and Urhobo history have always seen the Ijaw as magnanimous neighbours who gave us land to settle on. Please, lets not make up history. |

Nigeria is much better than the UK whose Prime Minister went on a jaunt there, taking along arms dealers while the place was burning. It didn't cross his mind to evacuate his people first, and when it did, the plane the British ordered broke down at Gatwick!!! Jonathan promises to rid Nigeria of tribalism News Feb 23, 2011 CHIDI NKWOPARA OWERRI— President Goodluck Jonathan, has promised to build a Nigeria where everywhere will be home for every Nigerian citizen, irrespective of tribe, religion or state of origin if he was voted into power during April elections. Dr. Jonathan, who made the promise in Owerri while flagging off the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, campaign in Imo State, also warned that there would be unimaginable crisis if youths were not adequately provided for in the next 10 years. “We stand for the unity of this country. We are going to run a government where we will not discriminate against anybody, irrespective of your tongue, religion, nationality or your place of birth,” Jonathan said. He also expressed hope that his administration would create a Nigeria where every citizen will have equal rights and justice, stressing that the issue of marginalization would be removed in the country. “We hope to work with you to recreate the consciousness and awareness that any son or daughter of Nigeria, from Owerri to Enugu, Ibadan, Katsina or Maiduguri, will have equal rights in Nigeria. You will get whatever you deserve, whatever you are qualified to get and nobody will discriminate against you. That is our aspiration. That is our commitment,” the President said. He also disclosed that the federal government had a number of infrastructural development projects going on in Imo State, adding that government would continue with it until the entire nation was transformed. “We have a nation of about 150 million. Seventy percent of this figure are people under the age of 30 and 50 percent of them are very young people, under the age of 19. So, we must prepare for this coming generation of youths, otherwise in the next 10 years, we will have crisis on our hands,” Jonathan said. It was the considered view of the President that “to do this, the nation must industrialize and we must encourage commercial agriculture, and that is why we are emphasizing on power generation.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/02/jonathan-promises-to-rid-nigeria-of-tribalism/ |
FG condemns Libyan govt over use of force on protesters News Feb 23, 2011 DANIEL IDONOR ABUJA — The Federal Government, Wednesday, threw its weight behind growing worldwide condemnation of the Libyan Government over the use of “unrestrained force” to suppress the mass protest currently going on in the country. However, despite the condemnation, it is obvious that the Nigerian government is not in a hurry to close its embassy in the troubled country as Nigerian diplomats have been advised to remain in the country but to relocate their families pending the resolution of the crisis in the country. The government position came as President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday gave a marching order to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Odein Ajumogobia, National Security Adviser, NSA, Andrew Azazi and Mohammed Sidi, Director General, National Emergency Agency (NEMA) to begin the immediate evacuation of trapped Nigerians in the troubled country. Addressing State House correspondents, shortly after a brief Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting, presided over by Vice President Nnamdi Sambo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Ajumogobia said the government condemned the use of brutal force to repress the mass protest by the Libyan authority, advising the Libyan government to resolve the matter in favour of democracy. “We are not happy about the violence and the unrestrained nature of the violence with the civilian population. We are monitoring the situation from the perspective of our own citizens. We do not interfere in the affairs of other countries; we believe that the Libyan government should find peaceful way of reconciling themselves with their citizens.” We have condemned the violence and no government should use unrestrained force against its own people,” the minister said. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/02/fg-condemns-libyan-govt-over-use-of-force-on-protesters/ |
FG orders evacuation of over 500 Nigerians from Libya Abuja (WorldStage Newsonline)-- The Federal Government of Nigeria has orders the evacuation of over 500 Nigerians from Libya while condemning the government over the use of force on protesters who are asking for political change in that country. Mr. Labaran Maku alongside Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odein Ajumogobia who spoke on Wednesday at the end of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by vice president Namadi Sambo noted that the Federal Government deplored violence in all ramification and not also happy with the use of force deplored by the Libyan Government to quell protesters. “A number of key issues affecting the nation were discussed. Specifically, Council discussed and reviewed the situation in Libya and some middle east countries, where the wind of discontent has led to protest, Maku said. “Government deplores the violence, said it also condemns the disproportional use of force to disperse protesters, saying that the crisis can and should be resolved through dialogue in those countries.” He however said that “these are all sovereign countries and we cannot dictate to them how they should govern their countries; but we believe that the will of the people should be the guide.” The condition of Nigerians in these countries, the minister added was particularly discussed with the minister of Foreign Affairs briefing council on the directives given by the President and the preparations made to evacuate Nigerians. He also said the situation in the Middle East countries as it affected Nigerians was being monitored closely by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs saying that government was in close contact with Nigerian envoys in those countries. “Already Mr. President has directed that stranded passengers in Tripoli and Bengazi who are Nigerians should be evacuated and steps are been taken as we did in Cairo to evacuate these Nigerians to their respective homes,” he said. He assured that President Goodluck Jonathan was committed to ensuring the safety and security of Nigerian citizens, saying that whatever measures necessary including evacuating Of Nigerians, if the need arises, would be taken to ensure their safety and security. “The standard procedure is that whenever there are conflicts in any country we advise our envoys to evacuate their families to safety so that the officers who are manning our missions can concentrate on the work at hand to ensure that they give attention to and consider diplomatic issues on ground,” he said. On whether similar protest might take place in the country, the Minister said, “yes there are problems of unemployment, but the President has already put in place measures to address these problems. They are clearly at the fore front of his agenda.” Maku also argued that Nigeria was not in the same situation with other countries; adding that the protests in Middle East countries were as a result of absence of proper democratic culture that allowed for free and fair election. “Yes there are parallels between Nigeria and these other countries, when it comes to the level of development, but one thing that is clear is that when you see some of the countries where these protests are taking place, you have one man dictatorships that have lasted in those countries for decades. The difference between Nigeria and those countries is that this country today is run on constitutional order where the tenure of office of leaders is fixed. “So our country has lessons that these countries can learn from. The lesson today is that it is more important to build institutions that can endure, because leaders can come and go but the institutions remain. Adding that Nigeria is probably the only country in Africa today that has the largest number of former leaders alive.” The Minister who also mentioned that power supply was a major challenge in the country however noted that “it is an issue the president is tackling very seriously as the government sees it as the solution to unemployment and wealth generation. “One of the major challenges we have in our country is power. Power is what is going to drive the small and medium enterprises, agriculture, water resources cannot be mobilized without power. The fact that President Jonathan has taken firm control of power as his key sector is an indication of his serious commitment and determination to overcome this challenge.” Story by Victor Iluyemi (info@worldstagegroup.com) http://www.worldstagegroup.com/worldstage/index.php?&id=2173&active=news |
Threatening to sue is very far from the actual act. What is the meat of their threat? Is there an ultimatum, is there a demand for apology, what exactly is their threat? |
9ijaMan:Lol. Some funny shyte: 9ijaMan: Beaf, the real truth of the matter is that Jarus went to Ife/OAU. We look before we leap. Jarus, you are welcome on board jare. . .Evidence speaks. Anyways, back to question you are trying to avoid. What character flaw do you think is responsible for Buhari to register a blank with the Taofeeks of this World? He has been in politics since taking part in the 1967 coup, he has been head of state, he has been a presidential contestant 3 times in a row, he is the virtual owner of a political party. Nigeria's Taofeeks know even the political newcomer, Ribadu. Whats with Buhari? Its not his handlers, its just a sign of how flawed and anti-social his personality is. |
^ NL polls? Thats a funny one! I can assure you multiple registrations on NL are responsible; instead of footfalls on the streets, in corners, motorparks, molues, at the abattoir, in carpenters sheds; instead of conversations with tomato sellers, rewires, hunters, butchers, danfo drivers etc Who does Buhari really want to govern? OAU graduates or Nigerians? What character flaws have caused the man not to connect with the man on the street, and the million Taofeeks working hard for a living? Why is a 3 time candidate and former head of state known only to "OAU graduates?" Lets bury the dead. For your info, I am none of the people that seem to be hunting your waking hours, I'm not Karl max, johndoe, ma j blige, nsiman or the other names that fleet through you guys fancy. In fact when I registered as Faeb, I made it very clear that Faeb = Beaf (unfortunately Faeb has been banned for months and forgotten). |
Prominent against these charges was an act that amounted to nothing less than judicial murder, the execution of a citizen under a retroactive decree. Does Decree 20 ring a bell? If not, then, perhaps the names of three youths – Lawal Ojuolape (30), Bernard Ogedengbe (29) and Bartholomew Owoh (26) do. To put it quite plainly, one of those three Ogedengbe – was executed for a crime that did not carry a capital forfeit at the time it was committed. This was an unconscionable crime, carried out in defiance of the pleas and protests of nearly every sector of the Nigerian and international community religious, civil rights, political, trade unions etc. Buhari and his sidekick and his partner-in-crime, Tunde Idiagbon persisted in this inhuman act for one reason and one reason only: to place Nigerians on notice that they were now under an iron, inflexible rule, under governance by fear.http://www.republicreport.com/the-crimes-of-buhari-wole-soyinka/ https://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2010/2/2/1265071798176/soyinka-001.jpg |
^ Its so interesting seeing my name splashed all over a useless topic I haven't even commented on; I just visted the last page and BLAM! Beaf this! Beaf that! ![]() Ok, juju don come! Lets roll! Talking about moving the nation forward, what would a man best set in the stone age have to offer? Buhari conjures up images of human rights abuse, repression of freedom of speech, murder, "political soldiering" (he was involved in all military coups and govts except IBB's). IBB and Abacha served in his govts, he in turn served in Abacha's govt. He is a part of the sordid past we are slowly, but surely sweeping away. When Buhari ruled there was zero freedom of speech, in fact you spoke the truth on pain of jail (ask Tunde Thompson and Nduka Irabor). It was a jailable crime to embarrass govt with the truth. Speaking about ethnic bigotry, you couldn't find a better icon than Buhari. After he overthrew the govt of president Shagari (a fellow Fulani), he kept him under house arrest in plush conditions in highbrow Ikoyi, while his powerless deputy (an Igbo man) Alex Ekwueme was jailed under the most deplorable conditions in Kirikiri maximum prison. Bigotry? Buharis tale is a gutter litany, from religious extremism to human rights abuses. Why would anyone root for a monster just when the Middle East is getting rid of theirs? Buhari is a dinosaur, intellectual carcass, vulture and despotic monster. New York [RR] ABUJA–this intervention has been provoked, not so much by the ambitions of General Buhari to return to power at the head of a democratic Nigeria, as by declarations of support from directions that leave one totally dumbfounded. It would appear that some, myself among them, had been over complacent about the magnitude of an ambition that seemed as preposterous as the late effort of General Ibrahim Babangida to aspire yet again to the honour of presiding over a society that truly seeks a democratic future.http://www.republicreport.com/the-crimes-of-buhari-wole-soyinka/ |
^ Bruv, Salihijo Ahmad was the sole consultantant to PTF. He was the alpha and omega, vetting multi-billion contracts, awarding monies, deciding contract satisfaction etc. Little wonder he committed suicide when the books where opened. |
^ Everyone knows I don't hawk Ribadu, but your reason might not have been thoroughly considered. A simple pointer is the fact that a political neophyte like Ribadu easily rolled off Taofeeks tongue, whereas Buhari, a past head of state, 3 time presidential candidate and head of a political party drew a total blank. It isn't Buhari's handlers, its the man, he is too aloof and comes across as uncaring and self-centred; even Dele Momodu makes an attempt to get to the masses. |
@Jarus When did you swing away from Ribadu to Buhari? I'd like to hear your reasons, cos in my opinion you've left a passable camp for one that totally untenable. |
