Politics › Ciroma Has Committed Treasonable Felony by Beaf(op): 3:02am On Dec 09, 2010
‘Ciroma Has Committed Treasonable Felony’
From Victor Efeizomor in Asaba, 12.08.2010
Delta

Goodluck- Sambo Presidential Campaign Organisation has dismissed the relevance of Atiku Abubakar in the forth coming Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, primaries slated for January 2011.
It said Adamu Ciroma and his cohorts have committed a treasonable felony and that Atiku is not a factor to be considered in the race, considering the support the organisation is getting from Nigerians in the course of its campaign tours Mr. Ahmed Gulak, Director, Contact, Mobilisation and Organisation of Goodluck - Sambo Campaign Organisation stated this yesterday during an interaction with newsmen in Asaba, claiming Atiku only emerged by the benevolence of nine people.

According to him, Ciroma and his cohorts only acted the agenda of North on regional, tribal, religious and other dichotomy ‘’having come this far and known their political history, it is a shame that people like Ciroma at their age,’’ can be acting sectional script.
“l am from the same Adamawa State like Atiku. We don’t want a president that will be sectional.

We want a true Nigerian leader. Nigerians are tired of such people.
Nigeria belongs to all of us. They are saying enough is enough. Those Nigerians pursuing such agenda is not a true Nigerian,’’ he maintained.

The Special Adviser, Legal and Constitutional Matters, to the President claimed that President Jonathan will win the election as the organisation has prepared ground for the success of Jonathan Sambo ticket not only during the primaries but even at the polls.

He said, ‘’Nigerians are happy, grateful to President for the thing he has done for this few months. Everywhere you go they thank him for providing petroleum at affordable and fixed price, for making headway in the electricity generation and security aspects.’’

The first Speaker of Adamawa House of Assembly said the team was in the state as part of their nationwide tour to solicit delegates support for Jonathan Sambo ticket just as they have done in other states.

He described President Jonathan as a man ordained to correct the leadership imbalance in Nigeria which has sidelined the South South from the pinnacle of political power, thus destined to rule Nigeria .

On the sack of Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, he said he was initially apprehensive as to the strength of PDP in the state but that that has been erased.

Meanwhile, social political pressure group, ‘Goodluck We Want Presidential Reality’ (GWPR) has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan to rule the country beyond 2011,

The group which described Jonathan as an experienced, honest, and resulted oriented leader who can pilot the affairs of the state beyond 2011, urged Nigerians to support his ambition of becoming president in 2011.

Briefing reporters yesterday in Asaba, the National President of GWPR, Dr. Triumph Osian, said “we have started massive mobilization and sensitization of the general public to support Jonathan” adding that “ I assumed that with the commitment of the leadership of this organization , with the sensitization of our people so far , our prayer is that come May 2011, we will escort Jonathan and Sambo to the Eagles Square for swearing in .”

Osian further stated we are crusaders for a Nigeria where merits and competence take the front burner in determining who gets elected into any political office in general and presidency , adding that , Jonathan/ Sambo candidacy for 2011 will reflect a true and neutral political block for a multi-crucial country like Nigeria

He added that as the election year draw closer, Nigerians ought to take onto consideration a kind of leadership that would not jeopardize the interest of the country as have been displayed by past leadership

He said these were reasons why the group has adopted Jonathan as the consensuses candidate, adding that the choice was based on the facts that Nigeria are tired of starting afresh during any election year

He said “These are positive indications that his line-up of programmes to be achieved at the next electionary dispensation will present a formidable reasons for him to be re-elected in 2011

Politics › IBB Is Confused, Says Jonathan by Beaf(op): 2:20am On Dec 09, 2010
IBB is confused, says Jonathan .
Thursday, 09 December 2010 00:00 Ayodele Adegbuyi
Ayodele Adegbuyi, Abuja

The Goodluck/Sambo Presidential Campaign Organisation has described General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) as confused over his claim that the Federal High Court, Abuja, had given a ruling on zoning and rotation in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that should be enforced by the party Chairman, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo.

To the organisation, such a ruling never exists. In a statement issued yesterday by the Director of Publicity, Sully Abu, it said that for over three months, the Malam Adamu Ciroma-led Northern Political Leaders Forum (NPLF) searched for a consensus candidate of a Northern extraction from among four aspirants including Babangida; Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; General Aliyu Gusau (rtd) and Governor Bukola Saraki of Kwara State.

“When Atiku Abubakar emerged as the consensus aspirant of the NPLF, IBB and two other aspirants accepted the verdict and pledged to give full support to the aspiration of Atiku. Now, IBB is singing a totally new song.”

Sully referred to a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, in which Babangida restated the existence of rotation and zoning in the party’s constitution, and urged the National Chairman to enforce the principle.”

He said that if Babangida and his cohorts had taken their time to read and understand the judgement, they would have seen that the judge, while accepting that zoning and rotation exists in the PDP constitution, declared that the provision was too vague to be enforceable.

He added that the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the PDP had already taken the same position as that of the Federal High Court judge. There is, therefore, nothing new to enforce. While zoning and rotation remain cardinal principles of the PDP, they, by no means, vitiate the right of any person, from any part of the country, to contest.

Sully said that the Goodluck/Sambo Presidential Campaign Organisation sympathises with Babangida’s predicament. “Having lost to Atiku in their so-called consensus arrangement, he must have been thrown into confusion and desperation at the prospects of an impending political oblivion. Clutching at the straw of zoning seems attractive to a drowning man. But regional jingoism is unsuited for a man who once held the highest office in the land.

“IBB should learn to live with his changing political fortune and not further diminish himself by playing games which only political novices should play. If he wants to go to another party, he does not need to blackmail anyone to do so. He should just go. The PDP has taken a decision on zoning and rotation. IBB can either live with it or leave the party.”

I will admit though that we did give our leaders too much power, heck! We've always given leaders too much power. from traditional rulers through military to civilians. I'm sorry but, we are a subjugated, oppressed people.

We need to admit our weaknesses before we can build strenght. Shell and other Corporations act in their own best interests, The question is; when will we do the same?
I think you are mistaken. These problems emanated from the inept semi-literate military regimes in our past. The people to blame are Buhari, Babangida and Abacha.
All shell had to tell these fools was, "sign here." And with dreams of a jumbo Ghana must go, the fools signed like puppies.
Until Allison Madueke's recent local content bill, Nigerians played no part whatsoever in the drilling of oil. A ll we did was spectate, while shell and chevron did as they liked. If ND peeps complained, shell would fly in the Nigerian army in company helicopters to do the relevant damage.

In modern times, the generals interests have been looked after by the cabal. We've been screwed deep, Nigerians should be screaming for blood.

Regarding indigeneity, who then lived on Yoruba land before the Yorubas? For you to make this assertion of indigeneity, then you must discuss who lived there before they did, correct?

Same with Hausa, Igbo, Gwari, Nupe, etc.

And you must also demonstrate that there were no inhabitants of Ijaw land before the Ijaw. I highly doubt that Nigeria was unpopulated 10k years ago, so are you saying Ijaw (or proto Ijaw) have been inhabiting the Delta since that time? If so, then support this with some sort of evidence, please.
Dude, when someone makes a statement, why don't you go check it out? Do some googling around, I really feel that the question of Nigerian and Ijo anthropology is too elementary to argue about.

As for what you said about recording history in detail without having writing systems. . . Who fed you that rubbish? I will tell you a little secret to investigate; some of what the "unseeing" call African art is nothing of the sort, some of the markings you see are not mere decorations. If you are inquisitive, this little thing I have told you will really open your eyes and take you on a journey of discovery.

Yes, Bini people can tell you exact dates from 2000 years back.

There is nothing wrong with caution.
You are right. I remember Jonathan got a clear warning from the cabal not to lay the wreath for the unknown soldier, because he would be shot by snipers; but he still did, even though he was jittery. That is not lack of liver.
Jonathan cautioned on the side of wisdom, and I won't lie, it affected the way I handle certain things. I learnt a lot during that period, wisdom is a pearl.

In the same vein, I will dismiss any tales of people falling from the sky as a fairytale.

"Who born who" is very easy to find out. Funny thing is that the Ijo people recount a story that is almost an exact match to the Benin. Lets be reminded that the Ijo are Nigeria's only indigenous people (they know all who have come and gone). They are the only ethnicity I know with a supremely detailed grasp of history like the Edo.

If you are a Lagosian, this will surely give a bigot like you sleepless nights; here goes from Fashola's website:

The name Eko was given to it by its first King, Oba Ado during its early history, it also saw periods of rule by the Kingdom of Benin. Eko was the land area now known as Lagos Island where the king’s palace was built. The Palace is called Iga Idunganran which, translated means Palace built on the pepper farm. Oba Ado and the warriors from Benin as well as some of the indigenous people who sought safety settled down in the Northern part of Eko called “Isale Eko”, Isale literarily meaning bottom, but must have been used to indicate downtown (as in Downtown Lagos).

Abeg oga professor, in what book is it written that both pronvinces were not part of the West? None of the regions in the south were independent of each other. It is only the colony of Lagos that was not part of the the Protectorate of Southern Nigeria. When out of the colony and the 2 protectorates of Nigeria the 3 regions and the colony of Lagos through the constitutional amendment were implemented, it was natural that those two pronvinces stay in the West and not the East or North.

As you can see, Benin and the Delta pronvinces have never been independence. If it were so, the oyinbo man would have given you a region outright. The Midwest was a creation of political manouvering to checkmate the West in 1963. Let me ask you this: Why was it only the Midwest that was created out of all the regions agitating for autonomy? Now, it is your turn to go back to read your books very well.

Your first lie was that money from "somewhere" was used to build the ND; I countered with facts and figures that showed that the present is just the past repeating, in 1900 oil palm produce accounted for a whopping 90% of Nigeria's export earnings.
Truth vs okooyinbo: 1 - 0.

Your second lie was that the Niger Delta consists of Rivers and Bayelsa only, this was proven wrong by simple recourse to elementary geography.
Truth vs okooyinbo: 2 - 0

Your third lie was that the phrase, Niger Delta is new parlance; that lie was murdered by a reference to the Niger Delta in the British Parliament in the year 1819.
Truth vs okooyinbo: 3 - 0

Your fourth lie was that oil palm doesn't do well in the Niger Delta, you claimed to know this being a swamp dweller (whatever that is); however, I showed you (again with reliable facts and figures) that Brass in Bayelsa was the most important oil city and further pointed you to a 160 square kilometre oil palm plantation in Bayelsa (with photo to match). In fact, the education further went to show you that the very existence of Nigeria as a country is due to palm oil (oil of a different kind) and Lugard was a representative of a palm oil trading company that became Nigeria.
Truth vs okooyinbo: 4 - 0

Your fifth lie was that Delta and Edo are part of the West; you were informed of the profound and vigorous battle for the Midwest to rid ourselves of a marriage that never worked.
Truth vs okooyinbo: 5 - 0

Your sixth lie was to claim that you would beat me in geography, whereas I have had to teach, teach, and patiently teach you the elementary facts of the states that make up the Niger Delta. The conclusion is self-obvious.
Truth vs okooyinbo: 6 - 0

We are serious peeps here. Abeg, find another place to spread your rumours and tall tales o jare! grin grin grin grin grin
