Sky Blue:Just go over the current thread and convince me that 99% of the responses from his supporters is any different from what one would expect from a fizzing mob of Ayatollahs. Their responses have been high on the neanderthal/scary factor and low on fact/commonsense; this isn't shocking though, because that is the sort of crowd a tyrant like Buhari can be expected to pull; an almost invisible sprinkling of disillusioned members of the intelligensia and feral hordes of antisocial types. Why would anyone gravitate toward the author of the draconian Decree 4? How could a man who jailed members of the press for publishing stories that embarrassed the govt, whether they were true or not attract you? I am let down by that, you of all people shouldn't be in that group. No sooner did Buhari/Idiagbon ceased government than the infamous Decree Number Four (DN4) of 1984 was promulgated by the duo; Buhari/Idiagbon became famous for coming down heavily against the Nigerian press, making the report of truth a very serious offence in the country, not many will for get the terrible situation of Tunde Thompson and Nduka Irabor of the Guardian who were imprisoned for making a ca report on the Government. |
2011: Militants target Jonathan’s aides’, supporters’ oil facilities Written by Samuel Ibiyemi, Lagos Monday, 15 November 2010 INVESTIGATIONS have revealed plans by sponsored militants to attack more oil facilities belonging to aides and supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan. This is to frustrate mobilisation of fund in financing the presidential campaign of the president towards the 2011 election. Information revealed at the weekend that the sponsored militants operating under the aegis of Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND) have listed facilities of oil firms alleged to have link with President Jonathan for simultaneous attacks. This, according to the source, will continue on weekly basis in the Niger Delta and other locations in the country to discourage friends of the president engaged in oil and gas activities from mobilising resources directly for his campaign. “The plan is also to give the impression to the international business community that Jonathan is not in control of the nation’s security network needed to check the resurgence of attacks despite the success of the amnesty deal,” he noted. Early last week, MEND kidnapped seven foreign crew members from an Afren oil rig. These were made up of two Americans, two Frenchmen, two Indonesians and one Canadian. The group said, on Friday, that two Americans and one of the Frenchmen were employees of Swiss-based Transocean, the second Frenchman worked for Franch company, Sodexo; the Indonesians worked for a local oil services firm, Century Energy Limited, while the Canadian worked for another local oil firm, Petroleum Projects International (PPI). The owners of these firms are from oil-producing states of Bayelsa and Ondo. An explosive suspected to be bomb, in the early hours of Friday, went off on the premises of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Matter, Mr Ndutimi Alaibe, in Opokuma community, Kolokuma/ Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, killing one police constable. The attack, allegedly carried out by suspected gunmen, was confirmed by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Aliyu Musa, stating that one of his men died while the other one earlier declared missing had been found. Further investigation showed that one of the financiers of the militants who was the chairman of a continental body in Africa was working for a frontline presidential aspirant in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He added that top officials of the regional body had also shifted the political campaign of the presidential aspirant to international conferences taking place outside Nigeria to woo foreign support. “The campaign activities of one of the top officials of this continental body working for the PDP presidential aspirant was brought to limelight and accorded prominence at the last World Bank meeting in Washington DC (USA), instead of creating awareness for participation in development of Africa by foreign institutions,” he lamented. However, the Federal Government, on Saturday, announced plans to launch repressive attacks on hideouts of militants in the creeks of the Niger Delta and directed civilians in the vicinity to leave the area. The Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marsahl Oluseyi Petinrin, said in a statement that the Federal Government had observed with concern some criminal acts within the past few days by some people claiming to be militants. “Many of these criminals are known to be hiding in camps within the creeks of the Niger Delta. These camps will no longer be tolerated. To avoid any collateral damage, we are seizing this opportunity to instruct all law-abiding citizens who live around the vicinity of these camps to leave immediately,” he warned. The military taskforce in the Niger Delta (JTF) said one camp in Bayelsa, one of the three main oil-producing states, was raided on Friday. Officials said there was an exchange of gunfire, and weapons and maps of oil facilities were seized. Police in Bayelsa also said, on Wednesday, they had arrested two men who were trying to rig a car with explosives at a bus station in the state capital, Yenagoa. They said the man had admitted carrying out previous attacks for MEND. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/front-page-news/13555-2011-militants-target-jonathans-aides-supporters-oil-facilities |
Why am I not surprised at the way some of Buhari's followers sound like members of Boko Haram and Al Qaeda. The General just doesn't inspire masses of the educated (tyrants never do). The tyrant had a way of jailing and sacking news people for reporting the truth. Here is a summary of a very public sacking of a reporter who related on NTA Network News that the missing $2.8billion had been traced to Buhari's London bank account: Vera Ifudu, who was an NTA reporter then, was sacked through his prodding as military ruler, for reporting what Dr. Olusola Saraki had told her in an interview about how the missing money was traced to Buhari's account at a Midland Bank London branch. Vera eventually won her case of wrongful dismissal in court against the NTA and was financially compensated.http://www.thenigerianvoice.com/nvnewsp/37756/1/pagenum2/the-arab-world-wants-nigeria-dead-latest-and-up-da.html I can produce more on the tyrant, Buhari and the press, but lets hear from his fizzing mob of Ayatollahs. |
@ROSSIKE Thats what they thought of us! Have you ever heard workmen trying to lift something heavy to the chant, "eshobe! Eee!" "eshobe! Eee!" It is a fallback to the white foreman goning, "apes obey!" to which the harpless labourers would lift and answer in unison, "eee!" We have truly been bastardised. ![]() |
^ Also: A group of monkeys may be referred to as a mission or a tribe.http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Monkey http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monkey |
He probably had a heart attack. |
I am in total agreement. I have said it repeatedly that the word, tribe refers to packs of monkeys, but the average person would rather remain ignorant. The only word I use with tribe in it is tribalism, and that is for the simple fact that it is primitive behaviour more akin to animals. |
It is advisable not to try Urhobo babes with police nonsense, because area no de carry last! If e too bad, na draw! Ufuoma, I hail o! ![]() |
Muza:Are you threatening the life of the President? You're a sick man, but I'm sure the SSS has the cure. |
Muza:You sound so pathetic! I am not even a PDP member, talkless of being Ema Niboro. Dude, buy a hyena and take to clowning! ![]() I want to point out the bolded to you. Look up the thread, check my first post, then look down from there and check yours. . . Funny isn't it! You are the one guilty of every word you wrote above in supprt of the criminal Buhari. You are even so blind to your pathetic state that you can even deny an easily provable death as well as its causes. Shame! You have argued about the story of how Buhari STOLE our $2.8billion oil money. but thats because you are too ignorant to know that there was a case involving the then NTA reporter, Vera Ifudu. Guess what that case was about? The $2.8billion theft? You got that right! ![]() Nigeria has moved beyond primitive politics into a grown up age. We have no patience for blood suckers, chancers, jobbers, uniformed hostage takes and robbers. |
Maybe some of those loose cannons that constantly shamelessly accuse Midwest minorities of betraying them can now wrap it up. I don't understand how it doesn't come across to such folk, just how ridiculous they sound blaming people, some of whom are not even up to a million today. We have always had cordial relations with our Igbo neighbours and so it should remain. |
@Muza Why do you rant so much? Its damn funny! ![]() So you have nothing at all to say about the $2.8 billa? I'm not surprised, you are living on dreams and wishes, but thankfully Nigerians are not taken in by the criminal Buhari. I understand you can't defend the $2.8billion accusation, because the is NO defense! ![]() So lets try you with something simpler: but Buhari who you paint in such glowing colours, still agreed to serve under such a man as the chairman of PTF. As chairman of PTF, he made Salihijo Ahmad's Afriproject the sole consultant for monitoring and assessing the value of contracts. Afriproject consortium was so corrupt that at the inception of Abdulsalami's regime, fearful of exposure, the sole consultant committed suicide in his office. When the books of PTF were opened, the can of worms was so much that Haruna Adamu said he felt sickened by it. One body determined the contracts to be awarded, the payments to be made and whether the contracts had been satisfied.http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/guest-articles/of-obasanjo-babangida-buhari-and-misrepresentation.html Sole consultant? Just one person handling contract awards, payments and contract satisfaction? Na wa o! This is the most alarming part of the article. Is it possible to reopen the books that sickened Haruna Adamu? I don't see how Buhari would not be directly implicated. Who in this World, awards multi billion contracts in such a shoddy way? No wonder the sole consultant committed suicide! |
Muza:Why take it so personally? Are you Buhari himself or just a joker? I noticed you didn't attempt to defend him of my charges that he is a kidnapper who held Nigeria to ransome at gunpoint. That is a treasonable crime in case you don't know. Nigeria has rapidly advanced beyond the primitive politics of yesteryears and there is no space for violent men like Buhari and IBB; men with such disdain for the law that they could hold a nation of millions hostage without a blot on their consciences. Both Buhari and IBB also robbed the national coffers during the periods they held the country hostage. So whats the difference between them and armed robbers? Yet you say Buhari is the last hope for honest Nigerians? Seriously, that's a story for fools: Shagari’s regime (1979-1983), incurred Buhari’s wrath when it decided to investigate the US$2.8 billion that disappeared from the Midland Bank, London account of the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation, (NNPC), during General Obasanjo’s era as military head of state that preceded Shagari’s. Dr. Olusola Saraki, Turaki of Ilorin, was the majority party leader of the Senate at the time and he headed the Senate Committee set up to trace the stolen money after some three years of clamour for such an investigation by members of the civil society. The money was traced to the Midland Bank London branch fixed account of Buhari, Obasanjo’s appointee as military head of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company. The Committee’s report was presented to the Senate during the tail end of Shagari’s regime in 1983, so the House decided to deal with the matter soon after the 1983 general elections.http://www.nigeriaplus.com/is-the-north-capable-of-giving-us-quality-leaders-by-naiwu-osahon/ |
How can a fcking kidnapper claim to have acted under the law? Nigeria is full of fools that make reckless statements. How can a man hold a nation of millions at gunpoint and claim to have acted within the law? People like Buhari and IBB should be in jail for treason, not contesting in the democratic Nigeria that they forcefully held to ransome. |

It is very hard not to see the return of Uduaghan. I will keep saying it, the time is too short for PDP to make changes and have a party in shape for the General Elections. If Clark doesn't pipe down, he will lose out. A PDP man cannot be seen to be working for either DPP or ACN. I wouldn't be surprised though if by tomorrow all sides deny that there was ever any friction, such is politricks. ![]() |

Ireland crisis could cause EU collapse, warns president Ireland crisis could cause EU collapse, warns presidentHerman Van Rompuy, president of the EU, has warned it faces a 'survival crisis', with the risk of contagion spreading from Ireland across the continent Julia Kollewe guardian.co.uk, Tuesday 16 November 2010 09.18 GMT Article history https://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Business/Business_competitions/pictures/2010/11/16/1289909669747/Herman-Van-Rompuy-006.jpg Herman Van Rompuy said the EU was in 'a survival crisis' Photograph: Dirk Waem/EPA The president of the European Union has warned that the EU could collapse unless the debt crisis that is gripping the region is resolved. Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Council, raised the stakes ahead of this evening's showdown talks between finance ministers in Brussels. With Ireland and Portugal both on the brink of seeking a bailout, Van Rompuy warned that there is a serious risk of contagion spreading across the continent. "We're in a survival crisis," Van Rompuy said in a speech in Brussels. "We all have to work together in order to survive with the eurozone, because if we don't survive with the eurozone we will not survive with the European Union." However, the former Belgian prime minister added: "I'm very confident we will overcome this." Van Rompuy's speech added to the pressure on the Irish government, which was continuing to resist international pressure to accept a bailout this morning. Shares fell across Europe as pressure mounted on Ireland to accept an EU or International Monetary Fund bailout to stem contagion to other high-deficit eurozone countries. Portugal, which has seen its borrowing costs rocket along with Ireland's, warned last night that it too might need a rescue package. But despite fears that the crisis could bring down the euro, Ireland's minister for European Affairs manliness Roche denied this morning that Ireland needed emergency financing. "I would hope after the Ecofin meeting this afternoon and tomorrow there would be more logic introduced into this," he said on the BBC's Today programme. "There is no reason why we should trigger an EU or IMF-type bailout." He admitted: "There is a problem with liquidity in banks, there is no doubt about that, but I don't think that the appropriate response to that would be for European finance ministers to panic." Roche reiterated: "Ireland doesn't need to trigger any mechanisms because of sovereign debt and the problems in banks are being dealt with." Sovereignty at stake Ireland fears the punitive terms of a bailout as it would have to give up partial sovereignty over its finances and could be forced to raise corporation tax. Ireland's opposition finance spokesman, Michael Noonan, said yesterday that a bailout could lead to Ireland being suspended from the bond markets for three or four years. The FTSE 100 index in London had fallen by 94 points by midday, at 5726. In Asia, Japan's Nikkei closed down 0.3% at 9797.10 while Hong Kong's Hang Seng dropped 1.4% to 23,693.02. Portugal's finance minister Fernando Teixeira dos Santos said last night his country was at risk, as "we are not facing only a national or country problem – it is the problems of Greece, Portugal and Ireland." Many City analysts believe a bailout of some sort is inevitable. Gary Jenkins, head of fixed income research at Evolution Securities, said: "The latest idea seems to be that they [Ireland] utilise EU money to recapitalise their banking sector. This may be a more politically acceptable way of accepting aid for the Irish government. It is clear that as much as Ireland protests that they can fund themselves for a while yet that the EU would like the situation settled as quickly as possible to try and stop the contagion effect. The meeting of the EU finance ministers today could end up resembling a situation rather like when you meet an old friend who has fallen on hard times and try to help them out financially , 'Go on, take it, it's nothing.' 'No, I couldn't, really, I'm fine.'" Nouriel Roubini, professor of economics at New York University and chairman of Roubini Global Economics, wrote in the Financial Times today: "Put simply the Irish – like the Greeks – are on a path to near or complete insolvency." He added: "The reason the EU has so far decided to provide emergency financing to Greece and Ireland is not because it lacks a legal mechanism for orderly restructuring; it is rather because of concerns about systemic contagion." But he argued that an orderly restructuring via bond exchange offers – in which sovereign debt is exchanged for other assets – is the best way to reduce this risk. http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2010/nov/16/ireland-bailout-government-says-no-need-to-panic |

The fact that women play little part in Nigerias politics is a measure of our backwardness. The relegation of women to the background is something we learnt from the British and the Arabs. Britain has cleaned up her act since 1918 after the immense sacrifices of the suffragettes, while we and the Arabs have only sunk lower. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3153388.stm Ever since we were colonised by foreigners, we have bastardised the high places women previously held. Where are the present day Queen Idia's (Benin) and Queen Amina's (Zauzau)? Our Western neighbours, Benin Republic were not left out; the Kingom of Dahomey fielded a feared all-female military regiment renowned for its bravery. They were known as Mino or in modern times, Dahomey Amazons. Similar warrior princess armies were known amongst the Ashanti of Ghana. In the shame that is today, we have primitive religious zealots actually calling on women not to contest political positions in Kwara and some Northern states. We need to change these things, women are as good as men and act as a natural counterbalance to out and out testosteronal leadership. |
The weapons need to go to GEJ's planned National Guard. The planned National Guard also need to be a high tech, fully digitalised force with all the gadgetry and wizardy to confound any political force (such as those that imported the weapons). |
Mai Suya:Armed robbers like ‘General’ John Togo have always turned their sights on their very own people. However, all ND people know who and where the real enemy is. It isn't difficult for evil politicians to arm criminals like ‘General’ John Togo. Afterall, they could bomb our 50th independence celebarations and import highly sophisticated Iranaian weapons for God knows what. |

DapoBear:It should be all set up nicely in a decade or thereabouts if we start now. There are also some mini nuclear plants we can basically buy off the shelf, but those are American. They'll cost just £13million, produce 25 - 70 Megawatts and are buried underground in concrete for safety. Each Nigerian city can run on a couple of those; in fact, just 120 (at 25 Megawatts) or 40 (at 70 Megawatts) of them will match our current power output. Its the way to go I'll say. Others have done it without incident, and so can we. |
duality:MEND has been dissolved. The brand new fake MEND has headquarters outside the creeks, beyond Lokoja and in a campaign office. . . Now you know who's phone to call. |
