for those people who are not proud of Nigeria

during the civil war in Liberia, the American and UN forces were called to stop the fight but to no avail but when the nigerian army got there "a single bullet was not fired" and peace was brought to our brother's country.

the nigeria flag was even waved by the Liberians.

That statement is just so damn wrong! Nigeria spent several bullets and sent in a lot of hardware.

Or better yet, why don't we just build oil refineries in the country? Or am I missing something here,
You can generate biofuels at home from domestic waste food and human waste. Biofuels can also be generated on farms by any peasant farmer.
Nigeria is also suited to largescale biodiesel projects based on jatropha or coconut oil.

It is not only much less costly than building refineries, but should also put money and control in the hands of the common man.

Abeg let the guy continue to delude himself. Tony blair visit to Nigeria does not in anyway have any link to the present u.k government or appointed as an envoy. Tony Blair came on his accord because he was paid. Tony blair fee ranges from about £250,000 to £1,000,000 to attend any function. So Nigeria has wasted another £250,000 at the expense of the masses to a Mercenary like Tony Blair all in the effort to manipulate the Nigerian masses who might be think that the International community supports GEJ .
This your stretched logic sounds incredibly funny. Who gives a flying fck if Tony Blair charges £250,000 to £1,000,000 in his private capacity?
What is most obvious to even Iya akara on the street corner is that Tony Blair is an employee of JP Morgan and he was in Nigeria on JP Morgan business.

Speaking during an audience with President Jonathan, the visiting Tony Blair  and the Chief Executive Officer of JP Morgan Bank of the United States (US), Mr Jamie Dimon, disclosed that it was the confidence of the international community on the ability of the Jonathan-led government that the famous JP Morgan Bank had decided to do business in the country.
Now doesn't it sound daft to continue inisting that Tony Blair was paid to bring his bank to pitch business to Nigeria? On this thread, you've mentioned Tony Blairs mortgage costs, where he lives, what he charges for speeches etc, don't you think that obssession is blinding your application of common sense?
Seriously, dude, grow a brain and make sure to weed around it every now and then. grin

I fail to see how Iranian relations would have been the subject an armed forces meeting. The meeting must have been about internal security matters and was only briefed about the foreign angle by Ajumogobia.

Arms seizure: Nigeria’s top security officials in crucial talks
News Nov 18, 2010 By Daniel Idonor

HIGHEST level security meeting was Thursday staged behind closed doors in Aso Rock with the looming diplomatic row between Nigeria and Iran dominating the proceedings.

Feelers from the crucial session however point to the fact that the Federal Government may have opted for diplomatic solution out of the emerging face-off, due to what officials considered as “Iran already has more than enough diplomatic crises; and in the spirit of the group of developing nations, D-8, which both countries are key players”.

President Goodluck Jonathan locked in the security parley chaired the session in his capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the country’s Armed Forces, while the National Security Adviser, NSA, Service Chiefs the Inspector- General of Police, IGP, Director-General of State Security Service, SSS, and Defence Intelligence Agency, DIA, were in attendance.

According to findings, the high level security session, which lasted for several hours also had Mr. Odein Ajumogobia, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adetokunbo Kayode, Minister of Defence and other senior government officials in attendance.

A highly placed Presidency source close to the meeting confided in Vanguard that the arms dispute between Nigeria and Iran topped the agenda of the meeting.

It was gathered that Ajumogobia briefed the meeting of his visit to the United Nations, UN, on the Iranian issue and the possible way of resolving the dispute diplomatically.

The source however stated that the quick resolution of the matter lies entirely on how Iran handles the arms issue and noted that at the moment the government was not considering severing diplomatic relations with Iran.

“Iran is one of Nigeria’s friendly nations and the Nigerian government is not presently thinking of cutting off diplomatic relations with Iran but the Iranian government has to reassure us that such a thing will not happen in the future,” the source said.

The source, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said the principal suspect in the case was still with the SSS pending the outcome of the case.

“Nobody concerned in this matter has escaped. It was only the diplomat involved that was allowed to return to Iran but the principal suspect is still with us,” the source stated further.

What exactly makes one a fake militant (i.e common criminal, as they say) and the other one a true militant? After all they utilize the same tactics: kidnapping, oil bunkering, the proceeds of which are used to procure arms, extortion, blowing up pipelines, etc. .

If these so called fake militants are asking for an audience with FG, it only fair that the latter hears them out:
Fake militants are politically sponsored to create mayhem and instability. They and their masters are criminals who are hiding under the Niger Delta struggle to forward their dark political agenda's. Odili started the trick, but others have since learnt to play it.

Is it a coincidence that a campaign headquarters burnt down yesterday, just as the hostages were being freed?

Dude, keep up with the news; JTF's new weapon is the true Niger Delta militants who know the tuff very well, people like Tompolo. They gave up their arms in the amnesty and are now helping the JTF root out the fake MEND that sets bombs in places like Zamfara and Abuja and are paid by politicians to create instability.

ND people too, don't give a damn about these new paid up monsters and will never offer them support, food and backing like they did with MEND, instead we'll be reporting their sorry arses to govt wherever they are spotted.

The operations of JTF are completely different now, because they are fighting in full cooperation with ex-MEND commanders (who are the only true fighters with the ND in mind). It is the ex-MEND commanders that are giving JTF the edge this time around, that and the full support of ND people. We don't want paid up political thugs in our midst.

Politics › Jonathan, Fashola Emerge Winners In Mock Election by Beaf(op): 5:19pm On Nov 18, 2010
Written by SAM OTTI Wednesday, 17 November 2010 22:17

Jonathan, Fashola emerge winners in mock election

The result of a mock election conducted for pupils in Lagos State by a consulting firm has been announced in favour of President Goodluck Jonathan. He scored 466 votes to beat his closest rival, Ibrahim Babangida who had 15.
An education consultancy firm, Standard Mandate International (SMI), organised the event, during its School Prefects and Leaders Summit, held at the Main Auditorium, University of Lagos.

While giving the analysis of the result, the Managing Consultant of SMI, Nelson Ayodele, said over 600 pupils drawn from 60 public and private primary schools in the state participated in the one-day exercise.
Some of the schools include: Corona School, Straitgate School, Ketu, St Bernadette, Akoka, Toadel Private School, Okota, Ebenezer Montessori School, Agege, among others.

Ayodele called for the inclusion of leadership in the school curriculum to make beginners’ classes possible for children. He said the summit was essentially packaged for prefects in primary schools to raise their consciousness in the country’s leadership. “It is better to groom a child than repay an adult,” he said.

He said the vision was to constitute the children into a soft interest group and integrate them into a young leaders club, with affiliation with similar international organisations.
Explaining the conduct of the election, Ayodele said the pupils were given the freedom to make their choice, as no ballot papers suggesting names of candidates were issued.

“We just distributed papers to them to write down the name of the person they will like to become the president. It is an open secret balloting because they made their individual choices.
“Jonathan got the majority votes ahead of his fellow aspirant, Babangida. Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar came a distant third with six votes, while Muhammadu Buhari got two votes.

“Since there was no restriction on their choice of candidate, some of the pupils chose former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, Namadi Sambo, David Mark, Donald Duke, Chris Okotie, Bukola Saraki and Nuhu Ribadu.
Earlier, the pupils, through a voice vote, elected Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) to continue for a second term as the governor of the state.
Mr. Ayodele said an open forum between the pupils and governorship aspirants in the state would be organised next year to inspire the future leaders.
Aside the mock election, erudite scholars, including the Proprietor of Childville Schools, Yaba, Lady Gbeminiyi Smith, tutored the children on leadership skills and responsibilities.

An adage say when a fly has no adiser it goes to the grave with the dead body that is how I will describe these criminals under the disguise of millitancy. Anything after amnesty is a criminal, enough is enough let the government do anything possible to wipe them out either oalive or dead because this is no longer what Saro Wiwa died for, this is no longer fighting for people's right, it is now business, money making, mafiarist jingolo Ltd

Now the name we hear on news is John Togo who is leading them. pls poster is this a name? We have heard okah, jomo gbomo etc such alien sound names which no one could say where are they from must be clean up. I think when a boy ask his father what have you begotten then the end is near these bastards descendant of no root-generation must be shown a way out of this country to let Nigeria and Niger Delta people have peace.
John Togo is a notorious armed robber in Warri who will soon be a dead armed robber. It is politicians that have paid fools like him to create instability in the country. But unlike the period of MEND when the whole Niger Delta was in active support, this time around these bastar'ds will be handed over to the authorities, because they are not fighting for anybody. There is no genuine ND person fighting in the creeeks after amnesty, those making claims now are paid up criminals.

good question  grin grin grin grin grin
Why is tribe considered derogatory because it's also ascribed to a group of monkey?
how abt a pride of lions?
It's just a means of identifying smaller groups within a larger more stately one. just teach ppl how to use it more precisely & correctly. Surely to say ethnic group in place of tribe would b wrong, like somebody pointed out, u can't replace tribal mark with ethnic mark.
Your pride of lions example way off mark and has absolutely zero to do with the current argument. Do you describe yourself as belonging to a pride? angry
As for replacing tribal marks with ethnic mark, I've only ever heard that funny suggestion on these pages. There is a perfectly acceptable term that is used in all sensible references (academic, political etc); the word is "scarification."

Open your mind for some education. Check out scarification on Google; http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-gb%3AIE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7TSEA_en&q=Scarification&aq=f&aqi=g1g-c1g2g-c2g4&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=

Check it out on Wikipedia; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarification

Except you are a monkey, do not accept the derogatory word, tribe.

You already answered my question so there was no need for another copy and paste. There was no ban on telling the truth, however, there was serious restriction of the press as tends to be the norm in military dictatorships.
First of all, all military regimes have been governments that held Nigerians hostage at gunpoint. All coupists like Buhari and IBB must be tried for treason. They are violent men who are no different from kidnappers and armed robbers.

That said; I love the way Jakumo dealt with you in his Realist / Revisionist post, really apt.
You seem to be moving the goalposts rather slyly, I'm 100% sure I haven't argued anywhere here that there was a ban on telling the truth. Therefore, your argument above is barking at the Moon (or perhaps, you are covering up embarrassment?).

What I said, is that journalists were bannned from publishing anything that the Buhari found embarrassing, regardless of whether it was the truth. Buhahari's govt has been the only one in Nigeria's checkered history that promulgated anything resembling the monstrous Decree 4.

Monsters promulgate monstrous decrees.
