^ Cos Chyz gave Obj's political ND, not the geographical one (Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers). igbobuigbo:Damn! ![]() |
jason12345:Edo is not a SW state. They are SS. Also, ACN has not presidential candidate yet (they are torn between Ribadu, Buhari and a couple of others). In the presidential elections, the SW will go solidly GEJ, governorship, rep, senate etc are totally different. |
amingafar:. . .The smell of fear and desperation. |
amingafar:You are so damn funny! Between now and 2015, we will move things from mere political boardgames to all inclusive cultural events and exchanges. I really don't think you have a clue about the dommant bonds between SE and SS. You have no clue dude! |
mikeansy:Lol @ bolded!!!!!!! I can't seem to recall anyone mentioning IBB, is that the koko of your issue's? Anyways, the times when we sold our inheritance to the core North for free have passed. The political landscape has changed dramatically by providence. . . And here we are, armed with hammers, chisels and in the odd instance, earth moving equipment; here we are grabbing the responsibilities providence has placed on shoulders; here we are, moulding Nigeria into what it should be; here we are, flooding through the gates Jonathan has opened, waving nay sayers and the sluggish bye. Never again! ![]() |
This is just the foolish sun news broadcasting fake stories again. Even the militants themselves confirmed that they came under attack and abandoned the camp where the hostages were held, leaving only a few fighters who didn't resist. JTF later arrested 63 of the fckers. |
Onlytruth:Exactly! By cooperating, we only get stronger. If we lose today, relations would have been mended for tomorrows fight. |
jason12345:And when did politics become a logical game? Politics is about society, how individuals and groups key in to make changes. Society is 50% sentiment, any politician that hits the wrong note is doomed. In this argument, I side entirely with OnlyTruth and Uduzue. Their ideas are practical and will appeal to the man on the street; but above all, they are contributing intelligently and solidly to a SE - SS rapport; something that should have come naturally, but has been missing due to past missteps. We have always been easy pickings for the core North, in this dispensation, the tables must turn and we must sieze our right and stand our ground. . . .He that pays the piper disctates the tune, anything short of that is abnormal. |
This is an eyewitness account of Araba, which took place in kaduna before the civil war. Araba means (let's share it) in hausa. Chuckwuma Nzeogwu led a coup wherein the most revered leader of the northerners, the Sadauna of Sokoto was killed while he slept. Sadauna had a home in Kaduna which was bombed by the coupists resulting to the cold blooded murder of Sadauna and the members of his family who were at the house during the bombing. This singular act of murder did not sit very well with Sadauna's subjects - they believed wholeheartedly that the coup was carried out by Igbos and was a declaration of war in which a retaliation was mandatory. The following is a miniaturized account of an eyewitness to one such retaliatory act. The elders decided on a day in which a house to house search would be conducted in Kaduna, for Ndigbos who had not yet fled the city. Every suspect would be shown the old three pence, and asked to identify the coin. Three pence was called Toro by all and sundry in kaduna, the Igbos however pronounced Toro as Tolo. Once a suspect is found and identified as Igbo by anyone in the Araba mob, he/she was summarily beaten to death, burnt in some cases, and all of the belongings found in the victims' houses were looted (hence Araba). Those that pronounced toro as tolo were also summarily beaten to death. The mob went from street to street, house to house, in search of Igbos, killing the unlucky ones that could not escape. The most interesting thing about the mod is that, well over 50% was made up of Yorubas, old Mid Westerners, and other southerners who were eager to participate in the araba and possibly save their own skins. These non Northerners were the first to shout yamiri or throw the first stone. They also did most of the looting. My brother, it is amazing what a mod can do. Many people who, under normal conditions were angels, became animals. May this never happen again in Nigeria. This eyewitness account should serve as a warning to other Delta Igbos and Delta Non-Igbos, who like their fellow kinsman, Nzeogwu Chukwuma Kaduna, could act foolishly and cause similar Arabas or worse to recurr. Let us hope GEJ would thread very lightly. It is not too late for him to withdraw from the presidential race. A gentleman's agreement should be just that. As OBJ would say, this is not the time for rascality. Nwata erughi eru juwa ihe mere nna,ihe mere nna ya emee ya (A child must wait until he is of age before inquiring into what killed his father or else, what killed his father will also kill him).
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action=post;topic=554699.0;num_replies=12#top This article has got to be one of the most hate filled threats to violence ever on NL. Mods, please move this to the racism and tribalism section, or better still, delete it entirely. |
Poor Fulani fcker, raking up ethnic bigotry and crass muck, because of loss of free oil! I cannot recall ever seeing such primitive and depraved article anywhere on NL. Mods, please move this to the racism and tribalism section. |
But actually my principal objective in this write-up is not even to counter Kiswahili or to uplift Hausa and challenge the status of Yoruba and Igbo but to advocate for all the languages of Nigeria and to shout loud and clear that the worst failure of the nation in its 50 years of its lame history is its failure to uplift the national languages to a level of functional relevance and significance in our national life! This is all the more worrisome because all indicators point to the fact that the borrowed official language of the nation, English, has woefully failed our developmental needs. But our slavish mentality has tied us eternally to the shackles of foreign languagesThen, let pidgin English be our lingua franca! We can change its name to something more fitting if need be. Pidgin English is the closest thing to our traditional language structure, it is spoken all over the country and is ethnically neutral. |
amingafar:. . .But, I have seen many people on NL accuse you of lying that you are from the North. Charlie, sharrap! You are from Nnewi! |
jason12345:What?!!! I take it you were brought up abroad then? You should visit home more often. You really need to, because if your dad isn't Yoruba or Egun, you will need to be familiar with your roots for one or two things in the future. Even if its your mum thats Itsekiri, please still make it a point of duty to spend time in Delta state and get to know what is going down. |
amingafar:IBB, in his last interview with pointblank news, made the statement that his roots are in Sokoto. It confirmed a long held belief that IBB is a Fulani man. http://www.pointblanknews.com/Interviews/os4192.html |
jason12345: jason12345:Dude, are you actually from Delta state? The above two statements make me uneasy and cause very real doubts. |
buzugee:Na di tins we dash am im go carry waka go home! ![]() Happy birthday Presido! 2011? Carry go! |
The Independent is Ibori's paper, isn't it? |
Funny people, funny thread. I have noticed that the posters on this thread tend to be the very same people who declared that Chima Orlu and Ben Jessy were fake. . . That was until the lead terrorist mentioned them in a sworn affidavit; in fact, he went so far as to say the Chima Orlu once lived with him. In other words, most posters on this thread are people who either feed on rumour, or bigotry, or they are the types who rush to conclusions only to look silly later. 6 people have been arrested for carrying out the recent kidnappings, while another 51 have been arrested for habouring the hostages. Will our usual rumour mongers be patient enough to hear the results of investigations? No! I guess pepper soup joint level chatter serves them better. ![]() I repeat, anybody fighting in the creeks now is either an armed robber or if they claim to be MEND, then they are sponsored. Period. |
candylips:I feel we'll soon be seeing lamba's, LINQ, delegates, automatic properties, partial methods, extension methods. conditional compilation and many others joining generics as Java struggles to catch up with C#. |
I have little blame for the journalist or the kids. The journalist is just your average, ignorant man on the street. I absolutely blame the teachers and the school for wheeling out such an incredible hoax and painting a false picture to the press. There is no excuse under the sun for propagating fraudulent stories. The story and the students work were projected in a very fraudulent light. It is like 419, kids should never be made to partake in fraud of any nature. |
Happy birthday Mr President! May your days be long! 2011 na your own. Carry go! |
ROSSIKE:There might be what you call "suppressed technologies." but that is totally different from free energy or anything that breaks the law of conservation of energy, or the first or second laws of thermodynamics; everything in that group (eg the perpetual motion machine of the current topic) is a hoax. |
^ That was just one in the left eye for Java lovers. ![]() |
jason12345:This is why I asked if the kids should be taught 419 too, cos it works on well on the gullible. '"fuel-less" generator (no hydrocarbons involved),' yet they get a current from somewhere? . . .And, in science, fuel does not mean hydrocarbons, a fuel is anything that can generate energy in a system. |
^ What do you mean? How I take kolo? Na jason12345 de kolo seriously! |
jason12345:So why not teach them 419 as well, if such rubbish is acceptable? |
DapoBear:I'm not. No school should teach kids falsehoods. Perpetual motion machines, free energy concepts etc always fall under the categoryof scientific hoaxes. It is a crime for a school to be involved in such. |
jason12345:They meant what we can read from the article and it really is rubbish. And what they meant is that they have succeeded in propagating pseudo-science through the minds of young children. The whole affair is disgraceful and condemnable. The able kids need to be taken from that sham environment and sent to better schools. In other countries, that school would be in danger of closing down for hubris, while the principal and staff concerned would never ever be able to teach again in any capacity. |
I'm sorry to burst you guys bubble, but a so called "fuelless" generator or any other perpetual motion device is impossible. Nothing can break the law of conservation of energy. Nigerians are always taken in by incomplete explanations and tricks. The school and its teachers should be given very dirty slaps for decieving those poor kids. |
joefazee:But Java runs off a library too. No? What are the Java runtime, virtual machine, Java Class Library etc? They are all encapsualted in a bundle called the Java Platform. Sun holds the patents. Comparing .NET (C#) and Java almost always boils down to comparing the libraries both run off. In fact, there isn't any other comparison, because C#'s syntax is miles ahead. Where Java and .NET (C#) are concerned, it is total sacriledge to mention the likes of PHP and JavaScript. Even VB.NET is a bit of a toy in comparison. As for the bolded, I can't for the life of me understand how you have come to the conclusion that C# cannot do system level stuff! There are experimental C# OS's by Microsoft (Singularity, based on Bartok), there are also SharpOS, Cosmos and another smaller project that begins with m (I always forget the name). You can build C# drivers in User-Mode; http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/driver/wdf/UMDF_FAQ.mspx Want an example of a semi-C# driver library you can poke into? http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SharpUSBLib/default.aspx Need solid examples of C# used at a very low level?: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/showcase/IfOnlyWedUsedANTSProfiler.aspx http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc163870.aspx Do you need to compile C# straight down to native or to C instead of MSIL? The Gnome guys have a cross-platform C# variant called Vala that compiles to native. It works on Windows too with val(a)ide; I've got it running sweetly with Msys and Code::Blocks (I prefer it as an IDE after Val(a)ide has done its job) on a Windows 2008 box. The long and short is, C# is no little game. Its funny that things have come full swing and the latest version of Java is based on the advances in C#. ![]() |
