Lewis did quite well in the championships with what was never the best car. I can only imagine what would have been if he hadn't had 4 DNF's (Did Not Finish).
He'll do well next season.

All of that will not be achieved in an enviroment where thugs and thieves are allowed to run the show.

It is not impossible to achieve everything you have above and yet crush the criminals.

They have been treated with kidsglove enough!!!!
It is fair to say thats all the army has got, hence the amnesty.
The people in question are not pro ND folk, they are mere criminals hijacking the amnesty sham so they need to be cleared out. At the end of the day, the process will graphically highlight the shortsightedness of attempting to bribe away deep political and human rights issues; the ND can only win from this. Go GEJ!

Is this really necessary, or should Nigerians be concetration on voting out PDP, as they remain the symbol of the devil. These sort of polls are highly unecessary, but goes to show Our Political Laziness.

I maintain that Nigerians get the leaders they Deserve, they as just as guilty as the thieving president or governor, when they see wrong but choose to do nothing
I gather you were once a PDP member. Is your grouse personal?
. . .By the way, I'm not in any political party.

I know you're joking!
The primaries are not part of the elections, they are a political parties selection process and 100% internal to PDP.
The election will take place under INEC.

Beaf has finally woken up from sleep.

A society where the only way you qualify for social security is by bearing arms will surely collapse eventually.
Do you actually think I am Nsiman? Thats funny. grin

My position on amnesty has never changed and will never change. It was an attempt by parasites to use bribery after military might failed, instead of solving the real problems in the ND. In the end, the amnesty absorbed armed robbers and other miscreants even before the real MEND commanders joined in, in fact it is known that Tompolo never signed the govts amnesty, but took his own document along for signing by govt.
The people GEJ has ordered the army after are mere criminals and political thugs, MEND commanders like Tompolo never harrassed any ND folk unlike what is going on with the new gangs in Bayelsa. Its all politics and at the end of the day, govt will come out with what we already know, that the amnesty is the wrong route. Once that is done, the ND will come out clear winners.

Ol' boy, go and learn to grow groundnuts to save your life o! grin

Dude, abeg ask intelligent questions!

It seems tribalism is the new politics, from consensus crap to a grown man changing his name from Bukola to "Abubakar." In the past, we had the now fading IBB promising to hand over power to the SE after one term, thinking that people are foolish enough to believe such crap.

Beaf, are u frm middle belt,a frm there;we dont no gej here,i dont no where u get your information,if benue state endorse gej, does not mean midle belt endorse him, endorsement is diferent frm voting
Last I heard, it was'nt just Benue, but all Middle Belt states. They even went so far as to advise IBB and "Abubakar" to withdraw. Since PDP will sweep those states, its a done deal.

So why are the others taking the cowardly routes of tribalism and Northern consensus bullocks? One even extended the farce to psychiatric levels by changing his name from Bukola to "Abubakar!!!!" grin grin grin

This is where he will have a problem. The PDP primaries will be even more difficult than the election proper.
That is true, but he is so bloody strong in PDP that his opponents are having to employ tribalism and Northern consensus bullocks. GEJ will win the PDP primaries.

He will win, he's got the Middle Belt and South as well as chunks of the North where there are minorities. His only problems are in Hausa-Fulani states (Sokoto and Katsina might buck the trend and go GEJ).

It is easy to see. You guys are just being sentimental; hold a map and the constitution (section 132) in front of yourself, then ask yourself the question again.
Jonathan will win by landslide. cool cool cool
Politics › Re: Can Gej Become The President Without Rigging The Elections? by Beaf: 4:11pm On Nov 14, 2010
GEJ will clear 90% of the Middle Belt and the South. He will only have one or two issues in the core North, and its likely he will get the mandatory 1/4 votes in the North East.

GEJ is very popular and should win by landslide.

Abagworo:
That is the usual problems encountered in hasty endorsements. The annoying thing is that every Igboman will be seen as a pro-incumbent.It keeps happening that Igbo leaders queue behind every incumbent whether right or wrong.
I do not see how endorsing Jonathan at the very last minute of the elections would change the fact that the incumbent has been endorsed, it would render the action meaningless and impotent; therefore I conclude that you are against any endorsements or perhaps, against the endorsement of Jonathan.

Democracy by its very definition is; "government of the people, by the people, for the people". Therefore umbrella organs of society like Ohaneze are integral parts of democracy, they are natural ways to reach the people, pass on messages and hold grassroots consultations.
The endorsement of aspirants by clubs and socio-cultural groups is nothing new, even in established democracies. You might recall the battle for the Latino vote in the last US elections; an important part of that battle was getting endorsements from Latino institutions, just as Jonathan has aqcuired Ohaneze's endorsement.

Democratic leaders and aspirants must court socio-cultural groups, social success with the person on the street and their raport with their socio-cultural group is an extremely important measure of a politicians democratic credentials; any politician that lacks such credentials will be cast as uncaring and unfit. It is only in a dictatorship or tyranny that the people and their social organisations can be ignored.

auwal87:
It was in in July 1966 during the Araba (secession) counter-coup, Murtala declared that his mission was to pull the North – the Arewa Republic – out of Nigeria and was in deed flying the flag of the new ‘republic’ at his Ikeja Cantonment headquarters, until the British diplomats talked sense into him to the effect that ‘you don’t run a country with groundnut pyramids’. Even at that, the naive Lt. Col. Yakubu Gowon who was foisted on the country by the British remained fixated to the idea of an Arewa Republic and had declared in his first ever national broadcast that, “there is no basis for national unity…” source (10th paragraph)
Yeah, the British told the man that stealing oil beat stealing groundnuts anyday. That is how our groundnut pyramids died a sudden death and a generation of parasites was created.
Politics › Re: Fayemi Seeks Resolution Of Nigeria’s Structural Problems by Beaf: 11:38pm On Nov 13, 2010
Princek12:
There you go. You have erroneously assumed that "words" mean complexity, and that I suggested that the topic was complex because of some "new words." By the way, what new words are you talking about? Or because the words are new to you does not mean that they are new words. If they are new to you, then maybe you should feed your brain some quality.

As per the topic, Nigeria's structural problems are profound. There is no principle of federalism, as in limited federal power and autonomy of the states. The Constitution of 1999 does not grant the states enough power and independence from the feds. There is excessive federal power; for example, forming a police force, power generation, the practice of law, road safety, among others, are all controlled by the feds. That causes a problem of accountability--the local constituents cannot hold their local elected leaders responsible for actions perpetrated by the feds. So the accountability problem can be solved by giving more power to state and local governments, for example, like giving each states the power to form its own police force.

There is also a problem with the domain of federal power. The Nigerian Constitution does not clearly delineate the boundaries of federal power, so the feds think they can essentially invade into the roles that are traditionally reserved for states in modern societies. Many states are also confused about the extent of their power. For example, whether the feds and states can both tax citizens, and how these taxes will be disbursed between the feds and states. I can go on and on, but this is the inappropriate forum for that.

It is actually £6000.00 with an upper limit of £9000.00 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-11677862.
Even if we look at the £6000.00 figure which I'm sure no uni will charge, it isn't a small sum by any measure. The Uk is just screwing itself deeper and deeper into droppings, don't be shocked if in the next 15 - 20 years we are recieving British refugees and making yanga about it.
Even tho a lot do not support the starvation of the Biafrans, Awolowo IS a hero for many.
So that's not going to change anytime soon. Don't be surprise if your hate for Awolowo provokes each Yoruba states to start naming one of their towns after Awolowo. Bi o se n bere ni yen.
I am quite sure SapeleGuy was talking about Murtala Muhammed who slaughtered all males above the age of 10 in Asaba (I might be mistaken though). Murtala is emblazoned on our currency.
Also, I think the support for Awo might not be felt as strongly outside Yoruba land as it is within; indeed, sometimes people speak the truth when they condemn a couple of things Awo did (afterall, he was human). Some others however, say stup!d things, because they are tribal lords. It is only the latter that heat should be turned on.
